Did you try asking Humm lol

CleverEmu

I only did it last night, they are closed Good Friday so open today waiting until 9am that's what it says time open wise.

Money_killer

You dont need Iphones

kc818181

Agreed. Golden rule, never buy consumer items (including cars) unless you have savings to pay up front.

This is reddit. You're going to get opinions.

CleverEmu

Why can't you focus on the question that I asked? You don't know the reasons behind our purchase, you just come blatantly out with your own POV and place an opinion on it whilst ignoring the main question. So yes I understand we all have an opinion but people who actually read can at least answer my question or provide some type of experience.

This you? [https://www.reddit.com/r/AusFinance/comments/1bjxtuh/comment/kw3porg](https://www.reddit.com/r/AusFinance/comments/1bjxtuh/comment/kw3porg)

Yeah OP should definitely be dropping 4.5k on brand new top end fashion accessories. That's like 75 woollies shops!

kc818181

You won't find many people on this sub with any experience of using BNPL.

bananaconcoction

It’s Ausfinance, what did you expect? There are plenty of other options available. I just agonised over the cost of upgrading an iPhone 12 to a used 14 Pro off eBay… and I’m not in the financial doldrums like you purport to be.

Lit_Up_Literacy

Two large purchases one after the other. Would you say this is unusual account activity for you? It sounds like a reasonable fraud management process.

CleverEmu

I didn't place any orders. When you login to your humm it shows you your expected repayments, but we made adjustments to our storage because if you make any changes you need to go back to checkout and re do them and login again. I mean you could be right.

Lit_Up_Literacy

Semantics. Two logins to attempt a large purchases*. Consider the scenario from a risk management business point of view. The chance of your login details being comprised vs you randomly buying phones. Saves a lot of grief if they just delay the purchase until you call and say "Oh yep, it's me." At a speculative guess.

I've found Humm's customer support to be competent, but the service as a whole feels like a 3 kids in a trench coat

CleverEmu

True. I did speak to them, they just referrer it to their support team. Waiting to hear back. For me what I've noticed is their website says you can use Humm at all these locations, you go there and they don't support it. I just feel like they're lack of care 😕 sort of shows an indication of their demise. Just my views and why they got hit by ASIC probably for the same reasons.

Omby07

It’s a revolving credit account but like others have suggested, two purchases and the risk assessment profile exacerbates your potential to be declined for finance. If that’s what has happened. I can’t really understand your question but can confirm their customer support team are awesome.

CleverEmu

All good. Thanks 😊

CraftyArgument1643

You could try again in a few days. Even though Humm BNPL shows a credit limit, their systems don’t confirm any of that is available until you checkout. At that point, a quick check is conducted. It may have flagged you the 3rd time because there were two previous checks, even though you didn’t complete the checkout. Their customer service is usually very unhelpful also but if you do try, you might get lucky and someone can reset those checks. Does Humm care? I doubt it. They’ve pulled Bundll from the market, removed some of the offerings from Humm BNPL and are now focusing on the bigger purchases, not the smaller ones. Seems their focus is the interest free credit card.

CleverEmu

Thank you this makes more sense as well. Appreciate the input. We simply wanted our checkout to be what we wanted and allocate our funds accordingly as it was going to be $2000 upfront approx. 3rd time it didn't accept us so we couldn't go ahead. I'll reach out to them but I don't anticipate a good outcome based on the prospect their support is going to be uncaring, most likely. They care little about removing dud links from their website, if that doesn't say it, what does.
