How is your hair under it? I think if you get a good wig cap you should be able to get the top to lay flatter! Even maybe taking a flat iron on really low heat and rub the side of it over the top part that’s bumping up. But honestly, that’s just if you want it to be perfect perfect - it looks great right now! I feel like maybe the length of bangs or something is throwing you off, but like OP said, the wig isn't that shiny, and imo it doesn't look unrealistically thick.

People who say they view things differently than you do are not automatically lying. If a viewpoint doesn't make sense to you, it's very worth it to first consider how someone could see things that way. You've probably met a lot of people who were wearing wigs and never even noticed. Loads of people wear wigs every day - for religious reasons, or medical reasons, or just because it's a fun way to change your hairstyle to fit your outfit without having to actually change your hair. Nobody else is looking as closely as you are!
I’ve been wearing wigs for the past few months for medical reasons (chemo) and no one notices. The only people who comment are friends and family who know and are complimenting the day’s wig choice!
Update! The girl that checked me out at the counter told me my hair was super cute 🤭 i was like THANK YOIUU 😭🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 it made me feel so much better about it because i had more errands to run afterward lol

Maybe there's makeup tricks you can do to simulate this?! I know in drag and cosplay they glue the brows down super flat and put concealer and powder them to finish.
Or if you pencil your brows in for your daily makeup looks just don't darken them and maybe you could use a light make up on them applied with a mascara spoolie applicator thingy :O

I just started wearing wigs! I also just don't like my hair. it's not bad but it doesn't fit my personality. I also have a hard to styling my hair in a mirror and styling a wig on a wigform is way easier.
There's a lot to learn and if you're wanting to get into lacefronts it kind of changes your routine which has been a struggle. I haven't slept in my wigs yet. It's CRAZY how good cheap wigs have gotten, though. You can get a synthetic lacefront wig for <$100 that can be heat styled and they don't look bad at all.
If you want to make the top look more real, [check out this tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2reOGoJTnXg) on how to flatten the top of the wig. That's what makes a wig look less wiggy.

IDK, I've only done this once so far with a lace front so I don't have much helpful advice! I just follow YouTube videos. [This is the one I used](https://youtu.be/tfVGbKUbx1Y?si=QOdTqVaNP9K8b5oo). I just accumulated all the stuff you need slowly and then jumped in when I had it all.
If you'd not a fan of styling your own hair I'd try to style the wig as much as possible beforehand. You have to make sure it fits and that the elastic bands are the way you want them. That tutorial assumes the wig is mostly ready to go before you start. I'm still looking for a good "what to do with a new wig" tutorial so tell me if you find one.
Also, you need good light. It's like doing your makeup. You have to lean in close to a mirror to see where the bald cap/lace is meeting your skin. It's not like doing your hair where you need to see the big picture. I tried to do it in the bathroom where I do my hair and the light is not good enough. I went outside in the sunlight and the front looked insane.

Celebrities rock wigs all the time. Everyone knows they are wigs because it's a different colour and style every other day. Heck they change them mid performance!
Wearing a wig can be a fashion statement. It is not a measure of your worth or validity as a person. The same way your clothes aren't either.
I think you look great. You're young and you deserve to enjoy your life. If wearing a wig helps you do that, then go for it. Life is far too short to care what people think.
If you split your hair down the middle and do two plaits going down and back and then clip those to your head, you'll have the bulk of your hair under the curve of your skull.
If the parting on the wig is too bright, eyeshadow it very good.
If you want even less shine on the wig, dry shampoo will read more like natural hair.

Most of the time, people aren't scrutinizing us anywhere near as much as we're scrutinizing ourselves. I'm not going to say that nobody ever will, but it's extremely unlikely and even if they do they will be the asshole.

Yes for realll! My hair flips up at the ends because it’s about shoulder length (finally) and I don’t want to have to straighten every time I want to look nice so I’m so thankful I found a pretty decent wig (esp for 30$ 🙌😅)
wow 30$ is so good! & yeah that length can be tricky, it’s been a while but i’ve definitely been there, i can definitely see how that could get frustrating/ time consuming, plus if you are trying to grow it not having to use heat on it every day will definitely help keep it healthy :)
Yes for sure! I’d hate to damage it now that it’s finally past my chin, much more so now that it’s completely out of the awkward phase lol and heck yeah you can’t beat $30 for a first time wig! Haha hopefully I’ll get more used to styling it! I might even add some layers just so it looks a *liiittle* bit more real
Yeah honestly most wigs that i’ve seen that look realistic can easily cost a lot more so you definitely got a good price! & yeah you may as well have a go at layers/ different styling - whatever makes you enjoy wearing it the most! :)

Think of it like wearing a hat. If someone asks if it’s a wig, say yes and make up a name for it. “I’m wearing Greta today. She’s got a goth look”. Makes it fun and lets people know you don’t give a damn what they think (even if you do).
You look so good!!!! I used to love wearing wigs when I had short hair / buzzed hair but now my natural hair is so long that it makes me have bad sensory feels... I get so sweaty and weird feeling... but if you have short hair it's such a great option!!
....AND with wigs you can simply rip your hair off once at home to get comfy 🤣 can't do that with long natural hair (well ya can but it'd hurt lmao) so with natural hair you're just screwed in the summer; you got an advantage with wigs! You can also change color whenever ya want without damaging your real hair!!
Also you look 10/10 it doesn't look like a wig AT ALL -- usually hairline is the biggest giveaway but this wig has bangs so it hides that! I guarantee you no one cares if your hair is real or not bc soo many modern women (and men!!) wear some type of hair system / hair extensions / wig. I didn't think it was a wig until I read the title! Unless you run into someone who is very familiar with wigs, I highly doubt they would clock it. But in that case, wig people are not going to think it's weird. It's hard to tell from the picture if it's human hair or not, but those are going to be the most natural looking. You probably just think it looks suspicious because you're getting used to seeing yourself with it!
The style looks amazing on you too! The bangs really work with your face. You look like a badass for sure, I could see you with a rat or a demon friend (in a really good way). I guarantee that you will get compliments on your hair when you wear it out. Ngl you're kinda making me want to get one 🌹🌹

Wearing a wig does take practice. I wear an elaborately dressed one when doing Roman re-enactment. I would search YouTube and Instagram for drag queens, because they often have tips for wig wearing and are usually happy to help. The one that immediately springs to mind for Instagram are TaipeiQueen and Crystal.Will.See.You.Now. They're both lovely.

I would love to be able to dye my hair however I want, and wear "normal" wigs at work. But they get so hot! I don't know how some of my Coworkers do it. One of them brings multiple wigs per trip to wear. Oh I work onboard long distance trains btw

If I have a wig that's too shiny, a little dry shampoo dulls it a bit.
The eyebrows are great too but the wig with the no eyebrows yeeeesss. You look good tho, go for it

I just started wearing wigs! I also just don't like my hair. it's not bad but it doesn't fit my personality. I also have a hard to styling my hair in a mirror and styling a wig on a wigform is way easier. There's a lot to learn and if you're wanting to get into lacefronts it kind of changes your routine which has been a struggle. I haven't slept in my wigs yet. It's CRAZY how good cheap wigs have gotten, though. You can get a synthetic lacefront wig for <$100 that can be heat styled and they don't look bad at all. If you want to make the top look more real, [check out this tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2reOGoJTnXg) on how to flatten the top of the wig. That's what makes a wig look less wiggy.

IDK, I've only done this once so far with a lace front so I don't have much helpful advice! I just follow YouTube videos. [This is the one I used](https://youtu.be/tfVGbKUbx1Y?si=QOdTqVaNP9K8b5oo). I just accumulated all the stuff you need slowly and then jumped in when I had it all. If you'd not a fan of styling your own hair I'd try to style the wig as much as possible beforehand. You have to make sure it fits and that the elastic bands are the way you want them. That tutorial assumes the wig is mostly ready to go before you start. I'm still looking for a good "what to do with a new wig" tutorial so tell me if you find one. Also, you need good light. It's like doing your makeup. You have to lean in close to a mirror to see where the bald cap/lace is meeting your skin. It's not like doing your hair where you need to see the big picture. I tried to do it in the bathroom where I do my hair and the light is not good enough. I went outside in the sunlight and the front looked insane.

Let's normalise wearing wigs anyway. People do for so many reasons. It's no different to a hat or hair decoration. Celebrities rock wigs all the time. Everyone knows they are wigs because it's a different colour and style every other day. Heck they change them mid performance! Wearing a wig can be a fashion statement. It is not a measure of your worth or validity as a person. The same way your clothes aren't either. I think you look great. You're young and you deserve to enjoy your life. If wearing a wig helps you do that, then go for it. Life is far too short to care what people think.

If you split your hair down the middle and do two plaits going down and back and then clip those to your head, you'll have the bulk of your hair under the curve of your skull. If the parting on the wig is too bright, eyeshadow it very good. If you want even less shine on the wig, dry shampoo will read more like natural hair. You look wonderful - the no eyebrows are fantastic!

You look great like this, I can't imagine anyone having a problem with it and it's very unlikely anyone would notice even. Most of the time, people aren't scrutinizing us anywhere near as much as we're scrutinizing ourselves. I'm not going to say that nobody ever will, but it's extremely unlikely and even if they do they will be the asshole. Again, you look really nice. Go out and feel confident.

Yes for realll! My hair flips up at the ends because it’s about shoulder length (finally) and I don’t want to have to straighten every time I want to look nice so I’m so thankful I found a pretty decent wig (esp for 30$ 🙌😅)
wow 30$ is so good! & yeah that length can be tricky, it’s been a while but i’ve definitely been there, i can definitely see how that could get frustrating/ time consuming, plus if you are trying to grow it not having to use heat on it every day will definitely help keep it healthy :)
Yes for sure! I’d hate to damage it now that it’s finally past my chin, much more so now that it’s completely out of the awkward phase lol and heck yeah you can’t beat $30 for a first time wig! Haha hopefully I’ll get more used to styling it! I might even add some layers just so it looks a *liiittle* bit more real
Yeah honestly most wigs that i’ve seen that look realistic can easily cost a lot more so you definitely got a good price! & yeah you may as well have a go at layers/ different styling - whatever makes you enjoy wearing it the most! :)

I think longer bangs or a middle parting would look even better for your face shape but this is pretty sleek. try some bold eyeliner with a bleach brows or bolder brows look maybe too

You look so good!!!! I used to love wearing wigs when I had short hair / buzzed hair but now my natural hair is so long that it makes me have bad sensory feels... I get so sweaty and weird feeling... but if you have short hair it's such a great option!! ....AND with wigs you can simply rip your hair off once at home to get comfy 🤣 can't do that with long natural hair (well ya can but it'd hurt lmao) so with natural hair you're just screwed in the summer; you got an advantage with wigs! You can also change color whenever ya want without damaging your real hair!! Also you look 10/10 it doesn't look like a wig AT ALL -- usually hairline is the biggest giveaway but this wig has bangs so it hides that! I guarantee you no one cares if your hair is real or not bc soo many modern women (and men!!) wear some type of hair system / hair extensions / wig. Some people don't even care if it looks real or not-- they only see it as a fashion statement! As long as it makes you FEEL good and confident, go for it ᕙ(*•̀ᗜ•́*)ᕗ 🩷

I didn't think it was a wig until I read the title! Unless you run into someone who is very familiar with wigs, I highly doubt they would clock it. But in that case, wig people are not going to think it's weird. It's hard to tell from the picture if it's human hair or not, but those are going to be the most natural looking. You probably just think it looks suspicious because you're getting used to seeing yourself with it! The style looks amazing on you too! The bangs really work with your face. You look like a badass for sure, I could see you with a rat or a demon friend (in a really good way). I guarantee that you will get compliments on your hair when you wear it out. Ngl you're kinda making me want to get one 🌹🌹

You look FABULOUS. I would *love* to be able to wear hair like that! Wearing a wig does take practice. I wear an elaborately dressed one when doing Roman re-enactment. I would search YouTube and Instagram for drag queens, because they often have tips for wig wearing and are usually happy to help. I’ve realized it’s okay to look like I’m wearing a wig :) I actually received two compliments on it today and it is my first one ever :) I will definitely be learning over time how to make it look better but I’m also very happy with the way it looks already!
