This is a famous problem with Bloodborne. 30 fps is baked into the code. Ironic, because other than load times, there is no improvement between ps4 and ps5 for the game.
Jesus what an insane take. Microsoft and sony are completely awful rival corperate entities.
Microsoft couldnt manage an ape exhibit and sony would squeeze gold from a stone.
Considering some of the rumors and leaks about MS dropping Xbox and going Third Party recently...
Doubtful. Especially since they have yet to pay off that Loan for the Activision Acquisition.
I suggest we threaten Japan with an imminent Military invasion unless they provide us with a proper Bloodborne PC port. Or a scuffed one, I really do not care at this point.
I could see this character having extremly bad luck or superatural occurences surrounding him, due to some angry gods that want the actual hero of their choice to get the sword.
a running gag would be that the real hero just ends up working minimum wage jobs in the parties vicinity and is constantly caught in the crossfire of their shenanigans
Somehow always ends up in situations where he sees the hammer and the sword glows and he begins to approach it, charmed by it, and gets interrupted by whatever shenanigans the barbarian does
The barb was a villain who killed the true hero with the sword-hammer, dooming the world. He has been irrevocably cursed to be hated by all who see his face. He travels the land attempting to save people from ravening hordes to redeem himself, but even the people he saves run him out of town.
Plot twist, he kills the big bad evil guy and saves the world completely by some bumbling chain of accidents, somehow tripping and falling all of the way over the power gap with hammer in hand. Along the way, he finally gets severely injured by something utterly mundane and pedantic, like, idk, a monster-puppy-equivalent.
Tl;dr: He kills BBEG with the SwordStone Sledgehammer equipped to his left hand, with disadvantage, while flailing/falling away from the adorable baby mindflayer who just bit him.
During the act he breaks the rock, and discards the sword on the floor of BBEG's dungeon. because he wants a hammer, not a sword. barbarian want smash not stab! I say the gods keep giving him bad luck forever after that, just out of spite
They should eventually be deemed worthy of the sword but all that means is that now they have a ranged attack where they sling the hammer forward and the rock flies off at the enemy, then it becomes a sword unless you pick the rock back up and put it back on the blade as an action.
Seems to be a lot of 3 years ago happening today in this sub. I mean, this only the second post about something from 3 years ago I've seen since I started browsing today, but I'm also only 4 posts down from the top of the page so far.
*A slender drow blade is before y-*
[BARBARIAN][STRENGTH] Seize the blade by any means necessary.
*With a loud crack, the blade is yours. As is some of the stone.*
Man, thinking about the barbarian goin on that journey, using that weapon like that, then slowly changing as their adventure goes on. They get into a big encounter and all hope seems lost, then slowly the stone sluffs off as they've finally been deemed worthy and the turn the tide of the battle with their new blade
The rock just loses grip on the sword instantly, mid swing. It's launched like a projectile killing the BBEG. Barbarian is so satisfied by this development, that they fetch the rock and use the sword as a slingshot from them on
Narrator: “Rock and stone falls from the sword with a mighty thud, light rays shine down and everyone could swear there are faint chants and rising harmonies of angels floating through the air. The barbarian looks at their new legendary blade, the blade of the worthy, the righteous, the-“
Barbarian: “Ew, I touched it. Here, you take it”
Narrator, sighing: “The fighter looks at the sword they’ve been handed perplexed and then watches in confused silence at the barbarian who proceeds to pick up the fallen rocks and begin to use them like a pair of stone knuckledusters to wail on a poor fear stricken goblin minion.”
Or a funny version where the stone just wears off with use until you have a sword that you haven't practiced wielding at all. The people still think you are the chosen king
"YES," the Barbarian screams as the sword slides out of the rock. He quickly tosses the sword in to the corner and beats the mindflayer to death with his new rock.
Else they toss their broken hammer handle aside for the Paladin to pick it up and realize it was a Holy Avenger longsword… or am I the only DM who would pull that shit?
"Bu... but my HAMMER! Useless sword! No one likes cutting things! CLEAVE OR SMASH!" *throws sword away*
"Hey buddy I think you dropped this... this is *insert sword name*! HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD THIS FOOL!"
I tried that once.
The GM PC took the sword back and pulled it from the stone.
Dispite what he says My Kobold Artificer and his mech are the Rightful rulers of the land.
The boss of this chapter of my irl campaign did exactly this! The party is tasked to return it to the village so one day the true king can remove the sword and become the true ruler
there can only be two outcomes: 1 the barbarian was deemed worthy enough to wield it (the "sad" end) 2. the sword outright rejects the barbarian, instead the barbarian keeps the stone the sword was stuck in as a unique bonded returning throwing weapon (the true end).
All of these comments about Elden Ring and Bloodborne, but no one mentioning that you can literally fuse a rock onto the end of every sword in Tears of the Kingdom?
This reminds me of Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, were when you use the Excalibur she still lodged on the stone, meaning Soma wasnt worthy of it, both either by not being heir of Arthur bloodline and since he was the reincarnation of Dracula, the darklord, and therefore not able to wield holy artifacts.
I mean we already have a sword on a stone (Phalar Aluve), they could have an update where barbarians can brute force it (strength check) and turn it into this XD
I imagine another member of the group to be the actual worthy one and the group knows it. But whenever he tries to take it, everyone sides with the barbarian.
Just need a hammer of thunderbolts, gauntlets of ogre power, and belt of dwarvenkind… combo added..
I realize they didn’t add any belts to bg3, but they still can!!! It’s essentially the underwear slot.
One day they do a deed so good that that become worth mid swing of the hammer and the stone slides off, the stone sails through the air and smashes a toddler, the wielder is no longer worthy
.I only have one issue with the game and its the final battle,I realise because people do solo runs,or kill all their companions etc that what I'm asking is a stretch but at the end of the game I have over 4 companions and lots of allies.I wish they did a suikoden 2(ps1) where you basically put your companions an allies into groups with different purposes e.gwhos gonna sneak in and sabotage defences or something e.g I'll send astarion and wyll and the gondolians. one team storming the main gate as a distraction e.g imma semd jaheria and minsc with the harpers who's gonna do the very last battle tav and shadow heart with dame owl and ox.some variation of this where if you have more than the max number of people in party, you somehow make use of them in the final battle so everyone can have their moment.
A barbarian-only option when he draws Phalar Aluve, ending up drawing the whole stone up and turning it into a joke weapon (maybe an early game Hammer+2 but with no special ability) will be fun.
This was a plot point in one episode of the Timon and Pumba show that went on Disney channel for a while when i was younger!....
T & P was tasked by a knight to remove the sword from the stone, they tried for a long time but failed ofc. In the end they gave him the sword stil stuck in the stone. He was angry at first but ended up prefering it^^
Maybe he can also drink blood to heal himself, but when he does, he’ll have to make a wisdom save or he will turn into a beast until the next long rest
Sticking with the Arthurian theme, the sword is supposed to go to a boy destined to rule the kingdom, but the kingdom is oppressive to outlying barbarian groups. The barbarian is the hero of the land and the bane of the kingdom.
That would be a pretty sweet BBEG idea for a tabletop game. The Evil Overlord claims to be the Chosen One, even though he could only use the sacred sword as a hammer. Once he is finally defeated by the PCs, whichever of them tries to pick it up first is successful (even if they aren't proficient or even a nice person) and the party has to deal with the fallout.
At the end, the BBEG disarms and pushes the barbarian away. The BBEG grabs the hammer handle to throw the weapon to the side, and the handle dislodges halfway, making a subtle sound that was so loud everyone in the room noticed it before getting firmly stuck again.
Okay are we now just blatantly ripping off Puss-in-Bootts now? Like was it an awesome idea, yes. Worth a run in BG3, also yes. Let's just not act like it's an *original* idea 🤣
Our eyes are yet to open
Fear the old blood
By the gods, Laurence, fear it!
I really, really want a PC Bloodborne port with 60 FPS
I'm afraid we might be really, really wanting that until the end of time
thankfully ps4 is basically x64 so there is a good chance that emulators and pc become powerful enough in time
Last I heard is that they managed to launch the game with a black screen lol. Progress!
I didn't have evidence. I based my assumption on what has happened in the past. If PS3 can be emulated to any degree then anything is possible
This is a famous problem with Bloodborne. 30 fps is baked into the code. Ironic, because other than load times, there is no improvement between ps4 and ps5 for the game.
Been there already, it's not in this timeline.
AI will be able to handle the port in 10 years or less.
Leaks say it may be in the cards for annoucement ths year. Take with grain of salt
That is every year. We just have to hope Microsoft buys sony as well before AI takeover.
Jesus what an insane take. Microsoft and sony are completely awful rival corperate entities. Microsoft couldnt manage an ape exhibit and sony would squeeze gold from a stone.
I mean. We kinda get gold from stones right, squeezing is a bit of a weird term, but the analogy maybe isn't working the way you intended.
Its not a take really. I have abt same amount of hope for Bloodborne PC remaster to come out as Microsoft acquiring Sony. Not much.
Grant us Eyeeessss. Grant us Eeeeeyeees
Ah, Kos. Or some say, Kosm.
Grant us eyes, grant us eyes… As you once did for vacuous Rom
"Majestic... Hunter is a Hunter... Even in a dream."
AWOOOOOOO
Aha majestic! A hoonter is a hoonter, even in the Forgotten Realms.
A hoonter must hoont
You must line your brain with eyes!
And cleanse us of this beastly idiocy
My first thought. I ran with this bad boy in Bloodborne!
Give us eyes, give us eyes. No seriously get the fuck back here Volo that’s my eye!
Seeing the top comment immediately being a Bloodborne reference as it should makes me happy
I love your name
I could see this character having extremly bad luck or superatural occurences surrounding him, due to some angry gods that want the actual hero of their choice to get the sword.
a running gag would be that the real hero just ends up working minimum wage jobs in the parties vicinity and is constantly caught in the crossfire of their shenanigans
Cabbage merchant was the hero all along!
MY CABBAGES!
Im so glad they are getting the og voice actor to play cabbage man in the Netflix adaptation
He was supposed to be the avatar but since Aang didn't dye, well, you saw what happened 😂😂😂 (Sorry for any spelling mistakes)
Somehow always ends up in situations where he sees the hammer and the sword glows and he begins to approach it, charmed by it, and gets interrupted by whatever shenanigans the barbarian does
So the hero is The Waitress from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?
That has the makings of an anime with an extremely long title
barbarian reincarnation!?!!? i have no op powers but i maxed out strength and managed to take the holy sword???!?!? starting my orc harem from zero!
Lmao thats exactly it !!
It’s Always Sunny In Faerûn
The barb was a villain who killed the true hero with the sword-hammer, dooming the world. He has been irrevocably cursed to be hated by all who see his face. He travels the land attempting to save people from ravening hordes to redeem himself, but even the people he saves run him out of town.
He who shall swing this sword hard enough to unshackle it shall be deemed the slayer of the false wielder
I say the gods keep giving him bad luck forever after that, just out of spite
Meanwhile the god of mischief: "aye lmao, he mah boi"
I mean I'd play Bloodborne again I guess
I’ve probably played through BB more than any other game.. I think The Last of Us part 1 is a close second
Tonight, Tav joins the hunt.
That is just Big Jack Horner from Puss in Boots 2. Not that I'm complaining though....
Yeah, I couldn’t get this rock off it, but still pretty cool, right?
I was thinking of the same! I loved that gag
They should eventually be deemed worthy of the sword but all that means is that now they have a ranged attack where they sling the hammer forward and the rock flies off at the enemy, then it becomes a sword unless you pick the rock back up and put it back on the blade as an action.
It is, and that film was absolutely fantastic.

No! Not Big Jack Horner!
You…you’re an irredeemable *monster*!
Oh, Oh! What took you so long? IDIOT!
Phalar Aluve should have this Barbarian option for you to get a bludgeoning version! Do it!
I hope the sword gargles instead of singing/shrieking.
No, it just sings Rock music. I'll see myself out.
So, Rock and Stone?
Can I get a Rock and Stone?
Good bot
[Stoner rock](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoner_rock), even.
I'd use it 😁
*A slender drow blade is before y-* [BARBARIAN][STRENGTH] Seize the blade by any means necessary. *With a loud crack, the blade is yours. As is some of the stone.*
God yes
As someone who just got the sword yesterday and have yet to defeat the forge guardian…. Yes.
I'd low-key love to see a game set in the Bloodborne universe with BG3 mechanics.
That would be amazing. Bloodborne's setting is one of the coolest anyone's come up with
Not much fantasy outside of Yharnam though
Man, thinking about the barbarian goin on that journey, using that weapon like that, then slowly changing as their adventure goes on. They get into a big encounter and all hope seems lost, then slowly the stone sluffs off as they've finally been deemed worthy and the turn the tide of the battle with their new blade
Oh more likely the barbarian throws the sword away and continues bashing with the rock that slid off.
The rock just loses grip on the sword instantly, mid swing. It's launched like a projectile killing the BBEG. Barbarian is so satisfied by this development, that they fetch the rock and use the sword as a slingshot from them on
Not even use the sword. Just hand it to the fighter like "Here, swords are your thing"
Narrator: “Rock and stone falls from the sword with a mighty thud, light rays shine down and everyone could swear there are faint chants and rising harmonies of angels floating through the air. The barbarian looks at their new legendary blade, the blade of the worthy, the righteous, the-“ Barbarian: “Ew, I touched it. Did I hear a Rock and Stone?
The rock was actually the blessed weapon. The sword is a fancy distraction that has no actual powers.
Or a funny version where the stone just wears off with use until you have a sword that you haven't practiced wielding at all. The people still think you are the chosen king
"YES," the Barbarian screams as the sword slides out of the rock. He quickly tosses the sword in to the corner and beats the mindflayer to death with his new rock.
literally the kirkhammer
A barb specific option where this is the result only on a crit success would be pretty incredible.
Perfect option for a DM to later have a character development “you are now worthy” moment to cap off taking down a big enemy
only for the barbarian to lament about loosing his hammer and ram the sword into the next boulder
Else they toss their broken hammer handle aside for the Paladin to pick it up and realize it was a Holy Avenger longsword… or am I the only DM who would pull that shit?
"Bu... but my HAMMER! Useless sword! No one likes cutting things! CLEAVE OR SMASH!" *throws sword away* "Hey buddy I think you dropped this... this is *insert sword name*! HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD THIS FOOL!"
Magicka. That was a good game.
[Dunka Dunka!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RShzqCZWJqs&ab_channel=kovalok246)
In the barbarians eyes he/she would be doubly the "Chosen" one as they are wielding both the sword and the stone!
#EXCALIHAMMER
*Fear the old blood.*
IIRC, Fable has a sword in the stone where exactly this happens.
A character named Frank in Shadow Hearts: From the New World does this exact thing.
*Tonight, Barbarian joins the hunt*
Kirkhammer is the best hunter weapon. Fight me.
Nah, saw spear is amazing
Arcane Saw Spear is busted
Barbarian option for Act 1, +1 dagger in the meat
I tried that once. The GM PC took the sword back and pulled it from the stone. Dispite what he says My Kobold Artificer and his mech are the Rightful rulers of the land.
Excalarock
The boss of this chapter of my irl campaign did exactly this! The party is tasked to return it to the village so one day the true king can remove the sword and become the true ruler

OOOOh ! Majestic ! A hunter is a hunter even in a dream!
I love this lol
Isn’t this just Minsc?
All i want is all the weapons to be shown on the back
All of these comments about Elden Ring and Bloodborne, but no one mentioning that you can literally fuse a rock onto the end of every sword in Tears of the Kingdom?
*ToTK has entered the chat*
This reminds me of Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, were when you use the Excalibur she still lodged on the stone, meaning Soma wasnt worthy of it, both either by not being heir of Arthur bloodline and since he was the reincarnation of Dracula, the darklord, and therefore not able to wield holy artifacts.
*quickly beings writing on a dnd character sheet*
This is legit a weapon in a Terraria mod. Calamity mod, Roxcalibur.
Well thanks for the idea of my next dnd character 😂
Stealing this. Noble barbarian/paladin multiclass.
Duh, just spill some blood on it.
big bonk
Give it the same stats as the watcher steel greatsword but make it bludgeoning instead of slashing dmg.
Imagine the drow blade being used like this with the strength check instead of just pulling it out of the stone.
Yes
The real hero’s sword are the hammers we made along the way
MAJESTIC
Actually, I love this for Phalar Aluve, if your character passes strength roll but fails wisdom/religion roll, they could add it to the game easy
Overstep the Phalur Aluce check by enough and you should get this.
I mean we already have a sword on a stone (Phalar Aluve), they could have an update where barbarians can brute force it (strength check) and turn it into this XD
bro this is funny as hell. someone needs to develop this concept fr
Castlevania did it 20 years ago. https://castlevania.fandom.com/wiki/Excalibur
“I couldn’t get this rock off it, but it’s still pretty cool right”
What Phalar Aluve should've been if Tav is a barbarian with 18 Str
"he's a man of focus, commitment, and sheer fucking will"
Bloodborne kirkhammar
phalar aluve if you fail the religion check
Roll d20 for athletics (roll 20 to success)
The dagger in the hunk of meat in Act one would make a great bludgeoning one handed weapon 👀
It’s because the stone itself was also powered by the sword so it was unbreakable
++++++
Wasn't there a thing like this in The Last Wish?
A barbarian-only option when he draws Phalar Aluve, ending up drawing the whole stone up and turning it into a joke weapon (maybe an early game Hammer+2 but with no special ability) will be fun.

so wait the handle is basically the pommel now?
This is genius.
And then the fighter or paladin of the party tries to pick it up only for the sword to finally come free
Phalar Aluve if you used strength instead of religion
This sounds like something straight out of mashule. I recommend it btw because that shit is hilarious
Looks like a weapon from Elden Ring
Not far off! It's the Kirkhammer from Bloodborne.
My personal favorite. The switch modes animation is just so satisfying
that’s basically a hammer
they just described Jack Horner.
Big Jack Horner vibes
That looks more like a elden ring weapon.
Bloodborne*
It's literally a bloodborne weapon, but good guess.
Shit thats just bloodborne
Bloodbourne did it
looks like bullshit jrpg where every weapon is three times as big
I'm near certain it's been done before.
because that's bloodborn weapon
This seems way more like it should be in a fromsoft product to me
It is, the picture is literally a weapon from Bloodborne.
Looks like an elden ring weapon.
This is essentially the Giant Crusher hammer from Elden Ring.
This fits more on Elden ring or any fromsoft game more than a larian rpg imo
Its from bloodborne
Why a barbarian when we already have Minsc?
This has Gundarr vibes all over it.
Would have to be magical because the blade would snap
I fear what may happen if I look at Boo with high insight…
That would be a pretty sweet BBEG idea for a tabletop game. The Evil Overlord claims to be the Chosen One, even though he could only use the sacred sword as a hammer. Once he is finally defeated by the PCs, whichever of them tries to pick it up first is successful (even if they aren't proficient or even a nice person) and the party has to deal with the fallout.
Big Jack horner has entered the chat
Karlach says, “Finesse is for chumps, we smash.” Tav: Wait that means… Karlach: DID I STUTTER?
You can't pull the sword from the stone....but what if you destroy the stone utterly? Leaving nothing but dust
Adventure Quest did this a decade ago
You steal this from blood borne?
My favorite Bloodborne weapon. It's so much fun.
Yep. The Kirkhammer sure is a cool concept.
No dammit thats the entire premise of my comic!!
This would be an adorable quest for Karlach.
Insert Puss in Boots reference.
This is a weapon in Castlevania for GBA.
See. That's some of that old bullshit right there.
so that weapon from bloodborne you mean?
Unlock the blade by braining the chosen one with the hammer lol
Jack Horner basically
Dude this was in Puss and Boots
This is literally what Jack did to Excalibur in Puss in Boots 2.
So the bad guy in puss and boots.
Lunk?
At the end, the BBEG disarms and pushes the barbarian away. The BBEG grabs the hammer handle to throw the weapon to the side, and the handle dislodges halfway, making a subtle sound that was so loud everyone in the room noticed it before getting firmly stuck again.
“As a reward for my work, can I have the legendary sword?” “Only if you can lift it.” “Hold my beer.”
Okay are we now just blatantly ripping off Puss-in-Bootts now? Like was it an awesome idea, yes. Worth a run in BG3, also yes. Let's just not act like it's an *original* idea 🤣
Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs.
