Oof, I've lost up to 3 party members on platforms but never the whole party. Usually the party leader makes it through. Now I send 1 person and have everybody else use the waypoint on the other side
Having watched a bunch of these videos, I'm like 80% sure it's caused by having the characters moving on the platform. Even then, I made sure to leave one character off the platform, just I case. Then, just have them warp to the bottom after opening the door.
Imo it's likely because you hit the button while the game was saving, the amount of times the game kinda breaks when I do something while it saves... well...
This is why ironman permadeath is a no-go for me, there is NOTHING in the world that guarantees that the game will not kill me.
I don't mind ironman, though, as long as I can reload any time.
There is a mod or something (Found it on nexus when the honor mode came out) that makes it so you can have multiple saves in honor mode. That’s what I used in my run since I wanted the challenge, but didn’t like having only one save
I don’t understand why “Legendary actions” is not an option in Custom Mode. The challenge in Honor Mode are fun but I’m not an ultra-fan of the pressure
Honor mode has a bunch more stuff, mainly nerfs to stupidly OP stuff (that should probably be in the base game), which you can't use unless you play with single-save.

I mean *technically* you can. If you keep a task manager window open and force close it from there, it doesn’t complete the save it’s supposed to make when you close the game
If you hit the game over screen it doesn’t matter if you use task manager or not. Even if you beat the game it will not give you the achievement because the game would’ve already registered that the mode ended. The only time task manager works is if you haven’t lost all your party members yet.

I knew EXACTLY what was gonna happen as soon I saw where you were lmao. It's annoying in non-HM modes but I would be absolutely livid if it happened to me in HM.
I was just expecting some sort of unexpected force blast or something that would have blown them off the edge, not some Looney Tunes hovering in the air and then dropping kinda vibes lmfao

Almost happed at ketheric elevator for me. Two guys dropped down, one out of reach for any kind of revival ect. Not like I could even leave a withers at that point. Was harsh stuck as a 3man vs ketheric.
In my first successful honor run, we took like 20 deaths on this elevator. We staggered because we knew about the bug, but it was still ridiculous. I feel like it was like 1/3 of our total deaths across the whole run

Yeah, that’s a huge thing, every YouTuber I’ve come across that’s done or is doing an Honor mode run end up having this issue too. It’s so common that you’d think Larian would have patched it by now.
Istg, i've 900+ hours, 4 complete tactician runs, 2 honor runs put on pause. And they're put on pause for this exact reason. I've never seen this bug happen anywhere, but the moment honour mode dropped, those posts keep popping up all the time. I'm scared to even continue my honour mode unless this is specifically adressed in a patch or fix.
It's not a big deal if you know its coming.
Make sure that you have a short rest available in case your companion gets downed in an unreachable location. Don't send your party leader. Only one person per elevator. Fast travel once you unlock the waypoint.
I recommend making a backup just before the final boss of act 2.
Don't let a bug stop you from playing.
This happened to me in my Honour Mode run. I shat myself as two of my party fell off and I juggled Tav to stay on with Shadowheart until the other end. To make it odd, Lae'zel and Karlach didn't die from the falls and I was able to switch to them and watch them slowly die in crevasses in the cliffs.
I've seen enough posts about this particular lift that when I got here yesterday on my HM I left one party member detached so he can resurrect us at withers
I've played too much world of warcraft, never put everyone on an elevator, because it will end badly. I always split my party and just send one person for this section and use the fast travel point for the rest of the party and for Ketheric I normally have the party go in pairs.
This is the biggest bug of the game and needs to be fixed. This almost ended my Honor Mode run as well! Luckily, one of my party members landed on the edge of a wall and quick traveled to safety to resurrect the party. I'm sorry for your loss!
Dude, this literally happened to a friend and I today and all but one of our party was stuck in the cavern and was downed not dead and couldn't be revived. We had no short rests so I had to respec into a bard to get another short rest to get them up so they could teleport.

if you fail honor mode you can continue and legendary actions are still there.
Are legendary actions not normal in custom? I encounter bosses with that all the time.

You can also make custom mode with 1 save only(which you cannot change later) so it can be like Honour mode without legendary actions.

FYI, you can choose to continue a failed honor mode campaign. You just won't get the golden dice at the end.

This is definitely a Task Manager force quit and reload sort of situation.

You can pause the game mid action, if I remember it correctly. Should bomb about to explode on your face... pause the game and kill the task.

This game isn't anywhere near stable enough for HM, which is a shame because I love the new mechanics and the single save thing in other games.

Oh shit. I lost half my crew that way at the mountain pass but obviously didn't end my run. That sucks.

Tip for future runs: grab a high str char, enhance leap, and you can jump over without using that thing.

Position everyone near the buttons and you are safe. Tried it bunch of times and everyone reaches the other side safely.
Crouching seems to help
You can fix it by fully closing and reopening the game, before getting on the lift. It reloads them and makes it much less likely you'll fall thru
