They are fine now I’m sure but when I was in high school 10 years ago I went Indiana to Illinois. Indiana used the GOAT ball Imo being a Wilson evolution. Illinois used Baden. I swear to you the Baden’s they used at the time did not bounce back up where it was supposed to while dribbling. Every now and then you’d just get a really random bounce. This was over probably 40+ different courts/schools I played at and obviously then different balls every time too.
I used to hate those things.
Might be unpopular opinion but I’ve been playing outside for years here in the desert and I used to go through balls ever 4-6 months. I got a Wilson Evolution last November and it still feels like new despite it being an indoor ball. I don’t get it but it’s awesome. The one downside is this ball is definitely not designed to get dirty so grip can be bad at times but I look at it as a way to get better handles. Oh and BTW the Wilson NCAA was the one I had before I got an Evo and I view it as a waste of $65.
Evos really are the best ball on the market. I run with a big group of friends and we have a a regular outdoor morning game and then a run on Wednesday nights at an indoor court.. We keep an Evo for indoor and a separate one for outdoor..Agree about the dust - -just have to wipe it down from time to time.
I just got that exact same Wilson and it’s the best outdoor ball I’ve used. Only issue is it’s fading a little quick. Every Spaulding I’ve used has been trash by comparison
Me and my Aau team use Wilson. They are cheap on Walmart and really hold up. I just bought 4 to replace the ones that were misplaced they were 20.10 a piece.
I have the Elite All-court for almost exclusively outdoor hoops. It’s pretty mid. Collects dust very easily and feels heavy. Maintains grip/traction pretty well though, if you clean it regularly.
Oops, sorry. Misread ur post.
Use a cheaper Wilson with Composite leather, I forget which one I use bc mainly play indoor now so only play outdoor 2-3 times a year. I think its the Wilson NCAA Final Four
Outdoor balls really dont last as long bc of the wear and tear on the ball so I never buy anything over $50 for that.
Edit: I looked up my ball and it was the Wilson NCAA Final Four but you need to keep it clean for it to stay grippy
Wilson makes an indoor/outdoor NCAA Replica ball that sells for like $25 on Amazon. I’ve worn out 2 of them (multiple years using them) and I got a 3rd about a year ago. Highly recommend it
Wilson Final Four ($19.95 Amzn) is 90% identical as Wilson encore at half price. Outdoor surfaces can have much more variance for ball bounce. Great spalding options too.
Allocate more for your indoor ball as there is more consistency in hardwood floors. Recommend Wilson evolution for indoor.
The cheapest one tbh, neither of those. Id say no more than $20 in my personal opinion.
It's gonna get messed up outside so no point in buying a nice one.
This is wrong on so many levels.
1. Basketballs will last you at least 2 years if you don’t leave them outside
2. They aren’t like shoes. Getting them messed up is the point, you’d rather have a worn ball than a brand new one.
3. Getting a crappy ball could make or break your game. If you have a bad ball it’s not gonna work or feel as well as an expensive ball. It will also probably not last as long as a more expensive one. If you’re serious about playing good, and wanna have a nice ball that won’t get destroyed in a month invest in an expensive ball it’s worth it.
They are gonna get messed up outside I garuntee it. Making sure you don't leave it outside isn't gonna change that. I know this because my outdoor balls always get messed up.
Unless he's playing on a good court he's better off not spending too much.
Get a Baden …they’re good and nobody will steal it.

Of those two id go Wilson. Personally prefer Spaulding indoor/ outdoor
the spaulding one is good as long as you know it will get worn out in a year. but if you arent picky its good enough for casual hoops
Agreed with others, Spaulding is the best indoor/outdoor ball imo, I use a tf-1000 and it’s held up very well over the past 5-6 years
Same. I use it to shoot 50-100 free throws daily and outdoor pickup 3x a week. It's held up great over the past 4 years.
The 1000 is an indoor ball
Definitely Wilson but I'd do a Spalding varsity indoor outdoor size 7
Just know outdoor courts will destroy your joints much faster than indoor.
Man I kinda feel like that. Is there any solution to that?

what happened to the TF-1000 those were the eco balls before evo came along
Wilson all day

I have the encore. It’s a pretty solid ball tbh.

I have a Wilson Evolution, most of the games I play by that is the preferred ball of choice.
You use this for outdoor play?

Why is it so expensive
