It is my understanding that a bridge mute serves a different function.
The mute is above the nut so it doesn't mute the open strings, it opens the strings between the nut and the pegs. I thought you were saying you don't need to mute those
Edit: also when you say bridge mute, do you mean like on violins?
I’ve been considering the Tone Hammer 350 also. How is it for home practice? Can you turn the volume down enough to avoid blasting out your eardrums in a smaller space?
