For the bridge parts that are stuck, I saw a thread on talkbass where they advised removing all the parts and boiling them in water. That worked for me on an old P-Bass where the bridge saddles were frozen in years of gunk.
I'll give that a shot if WD-40 and heating it with a soldering iron doesn't work. My fear with water is that these parts are already rusty. I don't want it to get any worse, but a brief bath probably won't hurt.
PB Blaster or WD-40 Specialist Penetrant. I also dabble with cars, and both have saved the day. I'm currently out but I will pick some up tonight. I'm optimistic.
If you are using peanut butter make sure it’s creamy and not crunchy. The crunchy can strip off paint with the sharp edges of peanut bits. I ruined a ‘72 jazz bass this way.
I gotta give this Cort credit--it sounds amazing. It's extremely clear, and sounds massive when I played it in C standard (the strings didn't like that). However, as you can, see it has not aged well.
Hey everyone! I thought e would provide an update! I was able to break loose everything. The neck, unfortunately, is still an issue. I was finally able to loosen it, and then I applied pressure to the bass over night to try to attempt to straighten the neck. No luck. I'll try again, but the action is incredibly high, and the next is quite bowed.
Hello everyone!
We have a video update.

Needs a little love. And for 80 bucks it’s a cool project to kill some time
I’ve been looking at these tiny headless basses for awhile and have not purchased one yet but no I’m really wanting to get one for myself as a project.
I had one of the six strings I used in college to bring to classes. It was fine. You know, fine. It certainly was never going to replace any of my nice guitars, but it was nice to have something I didn't have to worry about the guy next to me turning into me with his pointy headed Ibanez. I popped a Seymor Duncan humbucker in the neck, and turned off the bridge pickup. It did exactly what I wanted it to do, and if someone had put a gun to my head on my way to class, I would have given it to them with my thanks.
Thanks for that quick response. The hole where the jack goes is actually on the bottom of the lower wing. I am thinking this thing may not be worth the trouble unless there is a source for parts cause it is also missing the tuner for the G string.

$80 maybe seems a little high for what you got, but I’ve seen worse! Any movement in the truss rod? That’s what I’d be worried about on that thing…
No movement whatsoever
Hmm, not a fantastic sign, but given the rust elsewhere I have high hopes for the WD-40. Good luck!
Thank you! I am optimistic! I'll provide an update tonight.

Can you use PB blaster? Used to break apart rusted shit on cars

Srs man I just looked up peanut butter blaster
Preheat your oven to 95° C (about 200° F), and put your parts in there for an hour after the water bath. Then let them air-cool.
Make sure you get a tetanus shot
Jeez I thought my project bass was rough, but this takes the cake 🎉 Good luck man, hope the neck issues are easily fixed.
if WD-40 Specialist Penetrant doesn't do the trick, I will remove the fret board and just put in a new rod. Why not!
Can you intonate it or change the action?
Not at all
Well that sounds... not good. The body does look quite intruiging though, I'd definitely dabble with it for $80.
I am going to hit everything with WD-40 Specialist Rust Release Penetrant Spray and hope for the best.
Good luck! Keep us updated ^^
I have that same bass but in white and I got it for free....I've wanted to "hot rod" it for a few years now.
That's what I'm doing to this bass! Go for it!
You gonna pull those frets or what? :)
Oh hey!!! (And yes, but only if the neck decides to move)
That’s a badass bass, man. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Kramer made a similar bass called “The Duke” that was supposedly the best Steinberger style knockoff back in the 80s.

Would you be interested in selling this one? I am restoring one and could use the parts
Please. Take it off my hands. Email me at [email protected]
No such thing as a ‘Cort Steinberger” headless maybe. It’s like saying a Cort fender bass. Steinberger is a brand, not a type
Okay.

you'll pay more for strings for that thing that the bass itself
Fortunately, these strings still have life in them, and you can get double ball strings for $30. That's fine.
Woah! That's cheap! Last time I accidentally almost bought D'Addario double-ball end it was like $90 CAD. TBF it was a 5-string set though.
I COULD spend that much, but in the states we have some affordable sets!
LaBella has a DB 4-string flat set I love.

Just get a string adapter. They're on ebay. You can use any bass strings if you use it.
I was just given a Mach 1, 4 string headless bass. First problem.. someone removed the output jack. Any idea what jack goes in this thing?
Yeah. It uses a locking quarter inch jack between the bridge and lower wing.
