I love the blower kill because it’s not even that clever it’s one chip really boosted as he stares at you about to hit him with the cyber finger of god

DZThree

It's particularly unfortunate for PlanetMan that BN2 happens to be the only main game in the series with a fire elemental Tornado equivalent.

Brettovski

and you KNOW it's the middle finger lol

Hassan-XIX

Ah yes, death by global warming

Brettovski

Art imitates life lmaooo

Pikminious_Thrious

A fire tornado does sound like something we could see happen eventually

Hassan-XIX

If I remember correctly, they already happen although not in the sense of literal tornados of fire but Tornados being born by forest fires

Bike_Chain_96

The fire bombings of Tokyo are somewhat famous for it

Hello everyone, today I’ve got a series of PlanetMan clips to share, all of which feature victories via fire chips. Despite having the highest HP in the game, PlanetMan is incredibly vulnerable to some of the most powerful fire chips due to the fact that he can’t move. I’ll be using three setups: the first is speed-focused, the second is so simple that it’s laughable and the third is tantamount to playing the lottery, albeit a very dangerous one. Here are the details. -First up is likely the fastest victory you can achieve without resorting to screen-dimming chips. The concept is simple: boost the power of Blower—a fire elemental Tornado equivalent—by at least 120 and unleash it on PlanetMan while he’s completely helpless. His orbiting planets don’t begin attacking for a few seconds, so there’s no danger present whatsoever in running to the front panel and firing. The total damage dealt when adding three Fire +40’s is 2240. Time could be saved both by using AirShoes to navigate the hole panel directly and by adding a fourth Fire +40 to end the battle slightly faster, but this setup is overall a bit cleaner, at least in my eyes. -Next is what I personally recommend for anyone who wants to put in minimal effort when fighting PlanetMan. GrassLine, HeatBall and LifeSword3 trivialize this battle to a comical extent. With a proper draw, all of the chips can be selected on the first turn, and even better, you don’t need to move MegaMan whatsoever. Unlike other HeatBall setups, there’s no need to develop a method to avoid direct contact between HeatBall and the enemy. Here, PlanetMan’s orbiting planets—which usually act as a defensive barrier while also producing offense—completely betray their commander and will detonate HeatBall for you upon colliding with it. Once again, PlanetMan’s slow-to-start attacking routine results in his demise. -Lastly is an instance of letting Lady Luck take the reins and smiting PlanetMan with Meteor18. When given a full field’s worth of potential target panels, Meteor18 is just about the least dependable chip there is. Unfortunately, increasing its accuracy via AreaGrab is impossible due to the intrinsic nature of PlanetMan’s arena; permanent hole panels can’t be stolen. The only thing to do is boost Meteor18 up to 300 damage and use GrassStage before each lucky hit occurs, granting each heavenly projectile a beefy 1200 damage. The amount of good fortune necessary to win with this setup is quite high; not only do you need to hit PlanetMan twice, but depending on the pattern of meteors you’re given, you need to hope that one of them strikes his paper airplane before it can fire off a shot at the meteor staff. If you observe closely you’ll see that exact circumstance crop up in this battle. As far as the meager amount of tactical depth this combo contains is concerned, I delay the placement of the meteor staff just before the custom gauge refills; activating it beforehand can save time if you’re incredibly lucky, but it’s risky as you need to have a second GrassStage ready after the first meteor hits. Though it’s essentially a gamble, it’s still rather satisfying to witness PlanetMan’s great misfortune as hyper-powered meteors haphazardly bombard his side of the arena. I hope you enjoyed this clip, if you have any further questions or comments in general please feel free to leave them. Nanis23

I played MMBN2 to completion so many times... and yet I had no idea Planetman was a grass type?

DZThree

Yup, PlanetMan is a wood-element Navi. It's a bit odd because he's similar to ElementMan in that he uses multiple elements to attack via his mini-planets so it would've made sense for him to be neutral.

azurejack

I did not know this either.

ReVGC

I love the 3rd one, I did something baaarely similar to MeddySP in BN5 over the weekend. Took me like 6+ hours of attempts. What's really fun is how it really only required two shots once you added the grassline in. I really enjoyed the suspense of watching his HP tick down and wondering how many shots total would be required lmao.

DZThree

I did toy with the idea of not reapplying the grass and trying to win with three hits but the luck required for that, if it's even possible, was not something I wanted to subject myself to. I commend you for enduring a 6 hour grind, it can be especially tiring with highly luck-dependent combos.

ReVGC

> it can be especially tiring with highly luck-dependent combos. Preaching to the choir, my friend. ;D https://old.reddit.com/r/BattleNetwork/comments/14xr0x6/alright_without_further_ado_here_are_the_results/ https://old.reddit.com/r/BattleNetwork/comments/1527fsa/13_hours_later_here_is_the_2nd_and_final_colsoul/

horyo

The two opening moves should be called Global Warming.

Mr-JDogg

The meteor and double grass stage was just mean

DZThree

I had to go for it, beating PlanetMan with meteors was too thematically appropriate to pass up.

Dirge, is that you? Btw nice job destroying all Navis as always. 😎

Thank you very much!

Solarhuman152

Very well done I see you really stepped up after the poison trap critique Glad to see it the blower build was sensational

DZThree

Thank you! Using Blower boosted with Fire +40's on PlanetMan is fun because of just how fast it is. I find the rapid hit sound effect particularly satisfying.

JTP8591

And if you wanted to overkill even more you could’ve grassstaged on the blower kill.
