eh, she's a rocker but she knows how to be rocker and at the same time beautiful without overdoing the style, unlike viola who literally looks like she pressed the punk button and got all kinds of punk rocker stuff she could wear all at once, causing the ugliness we see in 3, I think her shirt and jacket are horrible

I’ve always been saying that Viola can be a great successor but that honor has to be earned after a game or two. Her style can still be tomboy/steampunk (I like that aesthetic personally) while still being feminine because we have other video game badasses who are tomboys. This character does a good job with this!
gacha games and some JRPGs have some of the most confusing and jarring costume designs i’ve ever seen. there’s too much shit going on in their outfits, it’s like they put a prompt on an AI image generator and called it a day for making the concept art. it’s all complex detail with no rhyme or reason.
They mainly focus on the "cool" factor.
Though, most cool designs have some sort of rhythm and can be recognizable from a blacked out silhouette alone.
Serval used to be an engineer/scientist so her left side represents the formal clothes of her old job while the right side represents her hobby/current job rock singer. Does the design confusing? Yes. But after you know her story it's kinda clever IMO.
