Most of the time my Buddy sits quietly and just stares at me. So obvzzz i cant not do what he wants me to because hes being a really good boy using his good boy manners! Hes worked out how to get what he wants in the bestest most polite way🤐x
I have her sit in front of me and stare and if I don’t ask her what she wants in her predetermined time frame she will bark on me…
Or skip the staring and shove a toy into me.
Mine would roll her Kong underneath the cupboards, out of her reach and dramatise (constant whining) how much of a tragedy this is for her if I didn't retrieve it immediately. This would happen whenever I sit down to look at my phone. Every 10 minutes, rolls Kong under the cupboards until I put my phone down and play fetch with her.
Usually brings a toy or sock. Or, if he's really wanting attention will crawl on top of me and then body roll/steamroll with his back.
One time he brought me a box cutter and have no idea how he got it, and why he choose that opposed to anything else. I thought maybe he knows that I use it to open boxes, which he gets to inspect, and his bark box gets opened with a blade? Bit of a stretch, I ordered him new toys anyway just in case.
All tools, and anything dangerous that can fit in his mouth is now behind closed doors/drawers. Hasn't learned how to open drawers yet, but he does try to open doors!
Well today he was putting his toys in the drawers. I was doing laundry and putting stuff away and I think he mimicked me. Which means he probably would open the drawer if I left the toy in there. He likes to hide things and then pretend to find them like he won an award.
My Dutchie loved opening the fridge (tea towels tied on).
They learn so quickly it's crazy. Teaching Neo how to whisper, long long story but my Dutchie could do it too.

My mal can be a bit reactive. Yesterday, we had a plumber over and he said he wants to say hi, gave him warnings etc and she ended up being fine with him. I let her off leash again and she started howling at him because he was working and not giving her a fuss 😂
Depends on what she wants. Everything from chewing her toy on my lap/leg/foot,rooing and mooing, barking and trying to herd me if she really has to go out.
My girl will get within a few feet of me, kind of lower her head and stare at me intently and if I don’t respond, then I get a couple of those loud shrill barks.
Mine is a mal x gsd - will try and take the attention of the other dog from me by making the most pathetic, worthless shitty bits of scrap toy look really appealing, throwing it, barking at it, making it look like the literal best toy ever - then the other dog goes to get it and he will just walk completely ignore it from that point - come and snuggle up next to me like “mission accomplished, dad” 😂

My brothers house has open fires so he would come in and out with logs for it and Rocco would find the smallest remnant of any bit of wood like 1/2 inch long by mm wide and put it on your knee expecting you to throw it for him. I can take a hint so I usually end up taking him out to play with a ball. Maybe he has trained me well!

Obedience and smarts are two different things. The smartest is Border Collie. I have both, and Belgian Malinois cannot make a decision itself but a BC..
I’ve had both, my Belgian mix is much more independent and adaptable. My border collie only wanted to chase a ball. All dogs are different to some degree. Apart from this Belgian pose it seems, even mine does it 😂
My sweet little Red & White Border Collie used to smack her lips, over and over again. Very quietly.
She once alerted me to a bird stuck in our bamboo hedge. No lip smacking, but she just stood and stared into the hedge until I investigated. Poor little sparrow was really stuck, too. Would have died in there, if not for her.
Another time "Remi" stood and stared into a five-gallon bucket. I got the message and was shocked to discover a juvenile Opossum sitting in the bottom of that bucket. S/he would have died a horrible death, if not for Remi alerting me. (Now I put big sticks in large cans/buckets that might entrap small animals --- or else I overturn the containers so they can't become deathtraps.)
My dog now, a Border Collie/Brittany, will tilt his head toward the treat jars when he wants a treat. It's kind of cute.

Mine just does a little whining noise lol. Depends on what he wants tho. If he just wants attention he will side eye me (only has one eye so sometimes he forgets I'm on the wrong side and can't see his good eye) if he has to pee he will do a light and sorta quiet bark while slowly getting louder until I respond. If he has to shit its a full deep bark and if the first couple don't get my attention he runs and jumps on me staring into my soul. He also knows the difference between left and right which is probably his smartest thing he does lol.

A friend of mine says hers does open drawers! He came in their living room holding a huge horror movie knife! There are child-proof locks on them now.
