I am over here like how is everyone getting this GREAT awake pictures of their puppies. Ours doesnt sit still until nap time LOL almost 9 weeks old. Starts her puppy biting training next week!!
1. I can't think of a worse idea than training a 9 week PUPPY in "bite training."
2. Treat your PUPPY like a PUPPY...as in a small child. Small challenges like potty training, come, sit, stay are overwhelming for a PUPPY. Start small and be consistent so you can foster a solid bond and then move on to more advanced training when they are not a PUPPY.
3. Every PUPPY, regardless of breed, needs chew toys, balls, plushies, and their own bed/blankets. PLAYING with your PUPPY is one of the best ways to foster a bond and create a good, emotionally stable dog, NOT bite training.
4. Who in the fuck has a business to bite train a PUPPY? What the fuck did I just read?!
Dog sport clubs will often start working a puppy around that age in age appropriate activities like chasing a rag. It’s basically just play and very minimal pressure. It’s definitely something that can be done at home but it’s good exposure for the puppy to get out to the club. Not sure if that’s what OP is doing but if so, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s literally what mals were bred for.
100% agreed. My lil man is from French ring lines and the breeder let me know to raise him for the sport first and as a pet second. The pet obedience would come naturally as part of the training over time, so don’t worry so much for that. At 15 weeks, my guy was already started on rags, a puppy sleeve, and puppy-appropriate jumps. He was so incredibly easy to redirect and be around in the house *because* he had chompies practice multiple times a day. It’s literally his favorite thing in the world, so I’m definitely not forcing him to do it. I agree with letting them be puppies, especially with obedience (as long as it’s not dangerous, destructive, or rude). But many malinois bite like it’s their *life purpose*. :)

If I had a Mal, I wouldn't train him/her to bite puppies.
