If i’m being real the fights irl are way more entertaining than the ones in the anime. Also one thing that irks me is how much they reuse the exact same slow ass camera pan animation whenever dransword connects with the xtreme line 😭😭 it’s so tiring
I heard someone say "they wanted to stay away from special moves because they want Beyblade X to be taken more seriously", but tbh it makes a lot of the battles kind of blend to me. They all feel very samey.
Oh Dransword is in a battle, I wonder what he's gunna do! Wow the Xtreme line Xtreme Dash? Never seen that before.
Oh wow, he did it twice? Yippeeee!
I got into Beyblade X because I thought the Xtreme line made gameplay look a lot more like Anime fights compared to old gameplay, but the effect wanes to me if the Anime fights now are emulating irl ones.

Uhh stated X is the main protagonist? But agreed Bird still hasn’t gotten a win & it’s kinda boring now knowing what’s going to happen most of the time.
I think once the actual top tier bladers come into play more it’ll be more fun to watch, dran dagger vs Phoenix wing was what I think most battles should be like soon enough
So far it’s the only beyblade anime that is boring for me and I get that some like the irl beys but it got boring after a while since most of the beys does the same thing and is very limiting with how they design the X beys. Hopefully by season 2 we got more variation on the gimmicks
Its partially due to the way X has its power system. Or lack there of I should say. Plastic gen had literal spirits possessing beys and attacks that genuinely look good and akin to shonen. Same with MFB where within 4 episodes of fusion alone we see bull and pegasus breaking through concret no issue and even just flying for no reason. Burst felt like that wanted to tone down the shonen aspect and focus more on the characters skills. And X seems to follow suit but leaning heavier into the fact its tryna be a sports anime
One thing that MFB did very well is large stadiums. It really lets them run at full speed and kinda race each other. I know they want to bring it closer to IRL but a 50% size increase to the current anime stadium would be nice.
So far the best battle is Burn vs King and it also shares the main issue all others do and its the length. Every fight is so damn short. The reason all battles look the same is because only so much can happen in that short time. There is no time for multiple twist or just solid blow for blow battles that end with one finding an opening and winning a big final clash.
Yeah the animation for the Beys make them look like they’re spinning hella slow, and every Ekusu battle is just him attack, it not working, and then he extreme dashes and wins. It’s hella boring.

I enjoy the more clear battle tactics that are more grounded in reality more so than the metal fight battles. I’m not sure how they compare to burst battles though.
Only problem I have with the anime is that the battles usually end way too quickly
You’re not the only one, it’s even more grounded in reality than Burst, but at least Burst added more fantasy elements as it went on (Thus making it even more entertaining). But X is just no fun at all with the slow spinning Beyblades, lack of Bit Beasts, and no real stakes or exciting moments. Plus even though the art style looks good the animation is surprisingly stiff when it comes to character movement, even more so than Metal Fight.
There about as interesting to watch as an actual round of Beyblade, but this is coming who’s interest lies in the collecting and anime rather than the competitive aspect so take this opinion with a grain of salt, it’s basically my answer with most game based anime.
Not even. Watching an IRL X battle is really fun, watching the anime battles puts me to sleep unless it’s Kamen X battling but even now he’s getting boring to me. He always does the same exact thing in every battle and every time you think he’s going to lose he’s just like “Surprise! I can do one more extreme dash!”
The anime battles are just normal beyblade battles with a shit ton of effects and way longer, that’s why, even tho they are similar, irl beyblade battles are way shorter so it’s more thrilling
I’m also a person who lies in collecting & anime (morally anime/im done collecting) and they need to stop making it 10 second battles & start making it interesting.
the low fps at which they spin always irked me in burst and X, i have no idea why they do it 😭 in bakuten shoot and MFB seeing the beyblades spin at accurate speeds makes them look way cooler
You're not alone. Burst Season 1, even though the first set of battles in earlier episodes aren't as flashy compared to Sparking or other seasons, was way entertaining.
Beyblade needs to increase its variety of gameplay, it all feels very same-y.
Unfortunately the toys are making things difficult - the beys need big stadiums to have any meaningful gameplay, but the stadiums become very inconvenient as a toy if they are big
There is no mechanism to control the beys once launched, so they're more of auto-battles than anything else.
Honestly, beyblade would do *really* well as a videogame franchise, it should become more of a table-top game or a card game adjacent to the videogame side.
Yes its boring as hell everyone has the same special move the shoots arent specialized like burst. They just do xtreme dashes. They also never utilize the gimmicks. If it was the old anime, parts like gear ball would be hyped like it was a big thing. King vs Burn was pretty decent though
It feels like a downgrade from what we had in previous generations. There’s a lot of issues which are the following.
•The beys spin slower/Lack of speed
•There is a lack of variety in gameplay (a lot of the battles feel very similar.)
•Over reliance on the X dash (every battle usually ends w an xtreme finish.)
•Lacks realism (The show has no Battle Damage/wear/beys breaking etc.)
•most battles are predictable (Bird has to lose, while multi and X has to always win.)
Would I call the series bad? No but it feels very boring a lot of the time because the battles are repetitive and easy to predict.
It's not even that battles the bey avatars in anime are soo bad even the manga ones are better but the previous gen ones were so good also they should bring the points battles from burst back tho I still love the extreme dash mechanic

Yeah but not all of them tough, when there is a battle between rly strong bladers like burn, king or ekusu its pretty hype, the battles in burst s1 were about the same as this so im assuming they are going to get more hype as the series progresses
No, it's a bandwagon to think so on this sub, lmao. Do I disagree? Yes. I like X more than half of Burst actually.
Take a look at King vs Burn though at least. It's good.
Just because you disagree with the majority doesn’t mean it’s a bandwagon lol. X has been going for almost 30ish episodes and has like 3 genuinely good and interesting battles. Everything else is just copy paste battles with funny character interactions in between. I like the characters a lot but the battles suck ass
I'm not calling it a bandwagon because I disagree, it's just the amount of times I've seen posts on it. If you've been in this sub that long then you'd know.
Maybe there are so many posts about it because that’s how a lot of people are feeling? It’s been pretty disappointing so far to me. There are no stakes in the battles, no anticipation. There is no flair anymore, you can only spam X dashes so many times before it gets repetitive and boring. That’s just my opinion though as someone who grew up with metal fight and wanted more excitement out of the return of a metal contact system. I’m glad you’re enjoying it at least. The actual toys though are awesome, the battles are the most exciting of any generation
>because that’s how a lot of people are feeling?
I mean... that's the main reason people make posts in general, isn't it?
I also enjoy Metal more tbf. Also there was a lot of repetition in Burst too, but people loved that series.
That said I'll stop this reply chain here, idc really, meh.
I found Metal gen's battle the most boring. They were almost always face-offs based entirely on power and nothing else. They had no strategy most of the time and whoever made the most powerful explosive attack won
For me the best battles were OG, V-Force and GR. There was power but also strategy. Beys were literally Pokémon that the characters gave orders to and invented combinations.
Metal had battles that lasted the entire episode and really offered nothing else other than pure power crashes.
you call it boring, yet you only mentioned battles with no regard to the stellar character work you know the main part of the show. if you're only focusing on a s3condary aspect, of course youre gonna think its boring
because the writing is what matters. There is no point in battles without story battles. they dont matter without character. i can't imagine anyone being invested in a battle without being invested in the characters behind it
Tbf I can say me and my friends liked watching MFB fights purely just cause it was some crazy over the top stuff. And we only got more invested because of the characters too. Like character does matter but if the fight itself isnt as good on it own, its definitely not gonna be as great to watch
It literally is a toy commercial though. The anime is designed to sell the toys. That’s how marketing works. If you take the beyblade aspect out of the anime no one is going to stick around just because they like the characters.
noone took the beyblade aspect out its still beyblade theys till beyblade they just made the choice to focus on the best part of any show the characters focusing on the battles makes it no more interesting than actual ad focusing on the characters gives weight to the battles
I’m talking about your comment of the battles being a secondary aspect of beyblade because they definitively are the primary aspect of the beyblade anime. And just because the characters are interesting doesn’t mean the battles have any more weight because therein lies the problem with the X anime. The characters are super cool and funny and lovable but the battles, the most important part of beyblade, suck. I thought most of the characters in metal fight were cringey and annoying but the battles were spectacular which kept me watching. X has the opposite issue. Spectacular characters, shitty battles.
battles were the primary focus that has changed and for me its a change for the better and if you dont think characters make battles more engaging that sounds like a you problem also i really dont get what the complaining with battles is theyre as good as the battles from any other series
How is making the primary aspect of a battle manga/ anime the secondary aspect a good thing? That’s like turning Dragon Ball into a slice of life anime. And if it were a me problem I would be the only person saying this but this sub is absolutely inundated with people having the same complaint. Having more compelling characters absolutely makes the battles more engaging if the battles themselves are equally engaging but every single battle is the same. Bird loses, multi wins, Ekusu spams X dashes and wins. Every. Single. Time. How is constantly knowing the outcome of a battle exciting and engaging?
battles are always predictable for my favourite example tgere is not a single battle in the entirety of the metal masters world tournament that doesn't have an obvious outcome. the x battles are on the exact same level of quality as previous gens and also battels being secondary is better because character priority makes better story good writing can save (imagined) bad animation but good animation cant save poor writing
What character work? At least for Team Persona, Multi is the only one who has gotten anything (I admit side characters are pretty good)
Bird and X haven't developed in the slightest, and they're not interesting conceptually either. It's 2 stock character archetypes with nothing to set them apart from every other time we've seen the same archetypes be used
I kinda agree. Though that's mostly due to each battle being just one round and the fact that the beys spin so slowly.
Agreed they do spin a bit slow.
If i’m being real the fights irl are way more entertaining than the ones in the anime. Also one thing that irks me is how much they reuse the exact same slow ass camera pan animation whenever dransword connects with the xtreme line 😭😭 it’s so tiring
Yeah that animation gets reused way too much

beyblade should be dumb fun with sick anime powers like cmon
I mean it’s a game of spinning tops hitting each other for crying out loud, how serious do they expect people to take it?

If he loses in the final episode i give up in the franchise, even the music in the series is not good anymore.
x has the best soundtrack so far what are u talking about
No it doesn't
it really does
Imo it way stepped up it’s game than before on the music
I feel like everyone speculated he would beat the champion at the end..
I think once the actual top tier bladers come into play more it’ll be more fun to watch, dran dagger vs Phoenix wing was what I think most battles should be like soon enough

I finished 30 ep. Only the ep whith pheonix Wing vs Dran Digger was good, others are too boring.
Can’t even watch episode 20 without switching my attention.

Only battle I liked was dran digger vs pheonix wing. All others are just meh. Nothing special. I felt like I am seeing same thing over and over
I find them super cool

No, you aren't. Shit ain't nothing compared to MFB.
It’s literally meant to emulate battles irl
And it does a poor job because the beys are spinning at like 80 rpm
Exactly that slow rpm straight up isn’t even realistic.
I found Metal gen's battle the most boring. They were almost always face-offs based entirely on power and nothing else. They had no strategy most of the time and whoever made the most powerful explosive attack won
That’s what makes it interesting it was about power like-what… burst makes up for both.
For me the best battles were OG, V-Force and GR. There was power but also strategy. Beys were literally Pokémon that the characters gave orders to and invented combinations. Metal had battles that lasted the entire episode and really offered nothing else other than pure power crashes.

yes, yes you are.

it’s BEYBLADE bro, the character writing shouldn’t be the focus. it’s a show abt cool ass tops and ppl wanna focus on writing 💀
