So far, Big 4 work is lite af. I am still a staff so take that as you might. I was actually expected a lot more work. If anything I have had to fight to get enough work.

Yup, gtfo as soon as possible. I interviewed for industry roles right after busy season and just accepted a role that is a 35% salary increase and true 9-5.

If you can’t handle the big leagues go to RSM. /s

The reason big 4 looks good on a resume is because it means you can handle the high expectations. That’s why people still apply and go as long as they can handle - even after hearing all the bad reviews. You applied because you wanted the clout and you’re earning it now. Do that as long as necessary for your goals and then dip when you can’t take it anymore. Think of the firm like something you’re tryna leech as much personal value out of as possible. Skills, experience, corporate phrases lol. You want to leave as prepared for the professional world as possible, because might as well focus on career if work has to be life anyway. A senior analyst job in industry would be much more chill than big 4. But yknow what else is true? A DIRECTOR in industry is wayyyy more chill than any job in big 4 or many jobs that pay as well. How do you get a director job one day? Well, most postings favour several years of big 4 experience as a start. Try to look in the future and work your way backwards to plan your goals. Pay attention to what your superiors think is important, they’re all tryna find their own success. Find mentors and ask them about their career. Make the most of it, hang in there, good luck.

Big 4 is all about paperwork, arse covering, checklists and brown nosing for promotions.

it’s definitely a lot, but that’s kind of why they’re the big 4. you either find a way to meet expectations, or you get pushed out.
