Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries on earth. Ever wondered why a number of US politicians had their kids installed in Ukraine companies? Take Biden's son for example. To quote Assange "The goal is to use Afghanistan to wash money out of the tax bases of the US and Europe through Afghanistan and back into the hands of a transnational security elite. The goal is an endless war, not a successful war". Ukraine is the new Afghanistan. It's the same players on a new field.
I think there are many differences in the current Ukraine war, compared to the proxy wars/puppeteering in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan again, etc.
Those fit Assange's narrative, however I don't think ISR/PAL or RUS/UKR are similar. These two wars are partly a result of a powerful nation going back to its old style of politics.
Russia annexing Crimea was the slow start, and I would say the uprisings in early 2000s was the start of the *real* conflict in Palestine (I know it goes back 1000s of years, but around 2004 it got real serious).
With Russia, it's certainly more like how the USSR would act. And in Isreal at that time they were really pushing their "claim to the holy land", and also retaliating so savagely that they were getting attacked again, rinse and repeat.
But Israel, yeah they rely on a lot American arms and support, so maybe not as relevent as it's still a proxy war in a way, or at least out of the control of most people.
Ukraine though started from Putin's continued push into Russian Separatists areas, taking those all over and recruiting the separatists, then trying to take over the rest. I doubt there was a lot of western or transnational security elite planning this. Russian transnational security elite maybe.
Anyway of course once a war starts, there are opportunities for profit everywhere, and of course a bunch of Americans saw dollar signs.
But I don't believe the war itself wasn't engineered and planned like the Middle Eastern ones probably were. Although a bunch of oligarchs might need some money laundered, there are better ways than to start a massive war. And it's not like they could get tax money from most Russians, they're not that rich. Doesn't make sense to me.
I'm not sure of the situation in those African countries, I'd be scared that the money might just be used by some warlord/paramilitary group.
I'm pretty active in terms of Palestinian support, however I haven't been able to afford to donate any money to the cause. Fwiw my parents have a Ukrainian family of refugees living in my old grandads house, that's pretty cool of them.
A few years ago they had a bunch of Syrians living there, you actually do get rent paid from .gov but it's not as much as if you privately rented.

I pointed out that if you murder someone and made it look accidental and you were on CCTV not knowing you were on CCTV and someone hands the police the footage, that evidence would then make the public hostile to you because of your actions.
Yet, from my perspective, he was essentially saying that, in this example, the murderer is not at fault, the one at fault is the person suppling police/public with the CCTV footage as without that footage no one would even know there was a crime and no one would be hostile to the murderer, no one would have any idea of any wrong doing what so ever. No negative tension between the public and the murderer.
I feel that is a fairly accurate metaphor for what he was infering.
