Indeed they do. My two wouldn’t allow anyone to sit next to me when I was recovering from major surgery. It was them only. Crunched up as close as they could get to me on the sofa.
Mine can be the same way. But mostly with other dogs. She was super friendly with other dogs up until I got sick. But now she won't tolerate any other dogs getting near me. Too protective in that regard.
