Yeah i did that for my lamenter's terminator. Makes him stand out, same with the biologis.
I think if i ever manage to play the game it will at least make it easy to tell from a distance who is what.
I am doing a mix. So for example, the biologis I am painting is mostly red with a white apothecary shoulder pad (right), helmet, apron, left arm, and some additional details. I am not sure if I am going to paint the left shin guard (or both shin guards) white.

Ha! Thanks, I was almost going to do something blue on him but I liked the all red in the end. I know it’s a personal choice over lore but I’m happy. The rest of my force is pretty more accurate down to the squad markings so I’m giving myself a pass on this guy 😂

There’s good precedence for a high ranking Blood Angels character to not follow the Codex in terms of armor
Mephiston is the Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels and he’s not codex compliant. He doesn’t strike me as someone who holds his librarians to a higher standard
Ooh. Very interesting! As someone going through a massive question right now if do I do a codex compliant blue berry in my dark angels or do I do the death wing cause termie’s should be death wing. I’m glad to see someone else said fuck it and painted there’s the way they wanted to blend with the chapter.
Rule of cool in the end buddy…. It’s not a massive deviation away from lore but I wanted to keep him red. My librarian dreadnought has a blue helmet but that’s just to make it really obvious he’s not a normal contemptor.
I also love the red look, have you thought about using a similar blue glow effect like on the power axe for the runes? It could be a good way to integrate the blue without it being too much.
I worry that I don’t have the paint skills however hahaha

To be serious I think I could have made it work but I don’t have the patience for that kind of detailing. I’m an army painter at heart and like to see them finished quite quickly!
