I can’t say what the books are like because I actually haven’t read them, but The Magicians series was all of this for me and it was so so good. If the books are anything like the series or even better, than 100% recommend for this vibe. Author is Lev Grossman. Complex romantic relationships between several characters that overlap and don’t always have happy endings, a web of different plot lines and deeply interesting characters that all overlap, a boujie magicians college where everyone is royally fucked up, people are abusing drugs, etc.
