I thought the same thing until I went for the first time
Such a great experience. You feel so much more involved. Not saying I’d go regularly but I wasn’t expecting much the first time I went, I just expected a lot of noise and a shitty view of the game but I was surprised at the visibility from the nosebleeds. Didn’t miss anything
I hear that but I used to go see Bourque & Neely rock The Real Boston Garden back in the late 80's so not much impresses me these days. Especially at this price point. To each their own.
That's Ticketmaster. Someone sold off seasons tickets and TM paid more than face, so they need to sell them there to make their money back.
Ticket brokers are worse than crack dealers, kids.
Been saying it forever....
Going to a major professional sports game is becoming a luxury only for the upper class. The common Joe won't be able to afford this often, especially for a family.
For a family of 4, A 4 hour game experience will cost as much as a weekend pass to universal studios with lodging. Shouldn't be that way.
Not at that price.
Games are a good time.
I've always had a good time taking the train into North Station, grabbing some beers and pizza across the street, then peruse the vendors and memorabilia around the stadium.
It's been 12 years since I could justify spending the money to do that. Fun is fun, but spending $1000 for tickets, transportation and pregame entertainment is too much for me.
I discovered the best way to buy bruins tix is to wait till one day before the game or even day of the game. Tix are usually less expensive. I paid 60 bucks for decent balcony seats and 120 for loge
Younger fans have no idea. Jacobs isn’t about winning. He’s about maximizing his ROI. Keep the team in the playoffs if they win a cup great but he would prefer to just make the playoffs all the time without a costly rebuild. (Two to fours years of reduced revenue as you rebuild.). I could get this if he hadn’t owned the team since I was a child but he has - 32 is no better GM then he was a player and that’s what JJ wants.
Thank you sir, you nailed it. They've been operating this way my entire life & it's frustrating. Back in the day once they made it out of the Adams Division they were 2.5 lines short. If you haven't heard it yet go listen to Chris Nilan's Knuckles Podcast episode with Ray Bourque. Bourque gives a lot of the "Behind The Music" about Jeremy & Harry's back office/penny pinching ways. It's an eye opener.
I just got second row Loge 3 to the centennial game on 12/1 for barely over this price on Gametime, I rather buy from season ticket holders than through Ticketmaster
2 loge seats for the Golden Knights game came out to about the same price as above. Was I think $840ish in cart with the fees. Went on the Costco website and for a couple hundred bucks more you can buy a 75-85in 4k tv for the living room. But as others have stated people are buying em at this price so they would be foolish to drop prices. I’d rather an 85in tv I can watch games all year on. Just personal preference.
lol i was in the presale for the Centennial game...$880 for row 13 in the balcony. Used to get those seats for $10 in 2006/2007. Ill wait for the day of on StubHub.
The Bruins also missed the playoffs during the 06-07 season.
Here's my theory: I think part (not completely the reason) of the pricing is synced up with the team's performance. Who wants to see a shitty team? No one. Who wants to see a good team? We all do.
yeah i get performance is why the price is up, but $10 to $880 is extreme. I had just as fun at the games in 06/07 as i do at games now, if not more. And when they lost back then, it didnt hurt as much when because it was only a little money spent.
I dont mind spending \~$200 on a ticket to see a fantastic squad, but any more than that is too rich for my taste.
That, Jacobs' greed and shit economy where everything is rising in price. Surprised there are people with enough money to bring a family along and sit in the lower bowl.
My mother got my wife and I tickets in that area last year for a game against the Lightning. When I found out how much they cost I was very grateful but, also, felt angry and ashamed that the most die hard B’s fans can’t afford to sit close to the action. When I’m buying tickets I’m up in the nosebleeds. So, it was strange to be down there. More of a “look at me” crowd than actual hockey fans. That’s just my experience, though.
This is the thing. Everyone says they're crazy for charging that much. If people are willing to pay that much, of course they're going to charge that much...
How much of that money is going to TicketMaster?
I feel like it's not unusual when 30-40% of the total cost goes to TM rather than to the team or band that I'm buying tickets to see.
>I feel like it's not unusual when 30-40% of the total cost goes to TM
[Sometimes more](https://old.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/1dtcwvk/the_fees_on_ticketmaster_are_more_than_the/)
That's so gross, and for such an unnecessary service, too.
It's not like ticket buying was impossible before TM became a virtual monopoly on selling them. It's just funneling money to an irrelevant third party.
You can’t blame them. Fans scream and yell “pay this guy” or “don’t let this guy walk”. So they sign them and guess who covers some of their salary? You do!
Love that you all get worked up. Owners raising ticket prices is as old as dirt. Stop selling TD out every night and I bet prices go down. Owners will raise them and raise them until fans stop going. Which wont happen if you pay Swayman 8 mm and Pasta 9 mm and you buy their shirts and get all dressed up in bear costumes for the game
Glad I have seasons but this pricing is insane. Also, Ticketmaster is a ton of season ticket holders that just mark up considering the app encourages it.
I don’t get how it ever became accepted that Ticketmaster sells tickets and charges fees when you buy them and then lets people resell the tickets and charge even more fees to the second buyer. It’s fucked up
The seller pays them, too. So they are making money on both ends of the resale. I have Pats season tickets, so I'm regularly listing tickets I'm not using. I believe the fee for the seller is 10% of the list price if I remember correctly. So whatever the list price is, know that whoever is selling is getting at least 10% less than that.
The Celtics at this moment are not trying to build a new arena. It's just something that's speculated. As in, whoever buys the team might not want to pay the Jacob's family rent to play at the Garden.
Not sure why they can't come up with a joint deal given that both teams have shared the same arena since their inception. It's popular with litterally everyone except the capitalist whores that are undoubtedly going to have the capital to make a deal like this go through.
How cold is it really? Because the ice is covered with multiple layers of flooring including insulators.
I don't think the Celtics care. In fact, the players love sharing the arena with the B's. They've always said it's the best place to play. There's history too it.
Theyre making 10+ million a year. Aw poor baby the floor is chilly....so is any indoor court with the AC on.
I don't know, Ive never felt an NBA court let alone one on top of a rink. I do know that it was a big controversy in Detroit a few years ago when it was announced that The Palace was getting torn down and the Pistons would move into Little Caesars. Many of them were publicly complaining about the court and said the temperatures made the ball act a little differently. idk how much truth there is to it, but it's for sure a "thing" basketball players talk about.
Let's be honest here....who gives a fuck what the Pistons think. Lol
There are a lot of shared arenas, and a lot of those teams are successful.
It's different if it's a bum team, looking to separate itself and find individual relevance. But the Celtics and Bruins have been doing this for multiple lifetimes.
Plus... moving the Celtics to Encore? Where there isn't a subway or train line and parking is controlled by a casino? That's lame as fuck and doesn't do anyone any good except some billionare owner looking to cash in.
It's really weird that Wyck talked all this trash about not selling and wanting to be "paid in parades" only to announce they were selling 14 days after winning a title.
Having an arena that is theirs and not one where they’re essentially tenants would be a big plus for potential buyers. And this is from someone who despises Wyc Grousbeck and his stupid face, especially after the Boston 2024 fiasco.
(for the record: I was 100% dead set against Boston 2024. Between the way they ignored polling until they couldn’t ignore the polling and the rampant cronyism & absurd level of corruption I was not at all even remotely in favor.)
Seaport or Encore are the rumors. With that said, they could easily begin construction soon and opt out of their current contract if they feel parquet conditions are lacking, which they can be. Numerous times in playoffs this year, and regular season, you could see water leaking through. That isn’t the bull gang, that’s the building itself.
So they're gonna put it in the worst place in town lol the Seaport blows. Unless you make 150k or more a year it's not meant for you.
Gonna have to pay to park at the damn Omni Hotel or the convention center. Imagine if there's a convention going on the same time as a home game?
I used to deal with that exact parking scinario when I went to Preds games in Nashville.
It's horrible.
The blue line is the only train to the seaport if I'm not mistaken and it floods from time to time.
I’ve been in LA for the last two years and these games are great to go to. I get tickets right on the glass behind the net or by the right offensive faceoff circle at the end we shoot at twice each time and have a fucking blast. Solid Bruins crowd in LA, and we outnumber the Ducks in Anaheim.
That 7-0 win in Anaheim with the Pasta hat trick two years ago was a thing of beauty. Ironic because in the game day program that day there was a profile on Ducks goalie John Gibson where he said his favorite food was pasta. Well, it wasn’t that day, that’s for sure.
Wife and I have been having a lot of fun traveling (at least in the Northeast) to see the Bruins play. Trying to catch a game in Montreal this year, but they only play them once for some reason
Price gouging is when there is a state of emergency and you raise prices on necessities (eg gasoline when you’re evacuating Houston)
Not when a fun little excursion to the city is too expensive for your liking
You're right despite the downvotes. Sucks tickets aren't more affordable, but tickets, especially in the lower level, are a luxury and that's always going to cost a premium.
You get people more interested in going to the game and being seen, and you don’t get working class passionate fans. Not gonna lie there’s been a few times the garden has not been very loud lately.
Because I think most people believe that you shouldn't have to shell out 300-1000 dollars to go see a hockey game in a normal seat... Even nosebleeds nowadays are stupid expensive.
Like 125 bucks to get in the door isn't crazy for one of the most in-demand teams in the league year after year, in the most obsessive sports market in America.
Besides, they have to pay players, coaches, staff members, corporate employees, building staff, etc. buy equipment, pay for transport, and still make money on top of it. It's expensive for them, too.
I'm pretty sure european clubs have to pay players, coaches, staff members, corporate employees, building staff, etc. buy equipment, pay for transport, and still make money on top of it as well. Yet you can still get a Bayern München season going ticket for as low as 165€ (178 usd).
Allianz Stadium has capacity for 75,000 people, in addition to 16,000 standing room only tickets. Those season tickets also cost 178 per game, and as you said are the absolute cheapest available.
TD Garden, when configured for hockey, has 17,850 seats, and you can still get season tickets for balcony seats for as low as 68 dollars a game: https://www.nhl.com/bruins/news/boston-bruins-announce-2024-25-season-ticket-renewal-information
People are working hard to be unreasonable here.
I’d love to bring my daughter to a bruins game but the pricing as a single father is just too much. So we go to as many U-Lowell Riverhawk games we can and will occasionally take a ride into the city when they play at BU. Her great grandfathers painted in Agganis Arena so she enjoys going to see her buddy. Hopefully someday she’ll get to experience a Bruins game but for now it’s NCAA games or the NCAA Tournament.

Never ever use Ticket Master. These are All IN prices. You can basically sit glass for $208
It sucks dude.
But you know what? PWHL is popping off and I could afford season tickets as a regular person so this is just pushing me to get my butt in that seat instead. Support your local PWHL, AHL, ECHL, or college team instead until they stop with this crap. Stream all the games for free.
It's the home opener against Montreal. These aren't Red Sox tickets.
Wowwww thats super cheap. You guys are lucky
Try buying kraken tickets then.
its early wait until closer to season and the prices will drop same thing happens every year
The ticket mafia needs to go down!!!
Honestly with the big screen tv @ home, your own food, drinks & bathroom who needs the aggravation of going into Boston anyway.
At least you know you’ll have leg room at home.
I thought the same thing until I went for the first time Such a great experience. You feel so much more involved. Not saying I’d go regularly but I wasn’t expecting much the first time I went, I just expected a lot of noise and a shitty view of the game but I was surprised at the visibility from the nosebleeds. I hear that but I used to go see Bourque & Neely rock The Real Boston Garden back in the late 80's so not much impresses me these days. Especially at this price point. To each their own.
The Old Garden was a dump with shit sightlines. Even the players were happy to see it go. This isn’t the flex you wanted it to be.
That’s so cool! Wow, you’re awesome!!!
Thanks bro. Now go shine your big Bruins gold chain & medallion ✌️
That's Ticketmaster. Someone sold off seasons tickets and TM paid more than face, so they need to sell them there to make their money back. Ticket brokers are worse than crack dealers, kids.
Lmao I spent $200 for a seat 8 rows from the ice Round 1 Game 1 vs Toronto in 2018. Fuck that.
6 yrs ago my rent was half of what it is now, it's called inflation.
The difference is you have to pay rent. No one has to pay for sporting event tickets.
Been saying it forever.... Going to a major professional sports game is becoming a luxury only for the upper class. The common Joe won't be able to afford this often, especially for a family. Grow the game = grow the ticket prices
Going to games is not that great.

Haven't been since 2013. Walked out after the game next to Cam. Not gonna get much better than that.
That is a joke absolutely insane
I discovered the best way to buy bruins tix is to wait till one day before the game or even day of the game. Tix are usually less expensive. I paid 60 bucks for decent balcony seats and 120 for loge
I'm super lucky to live in The North End, about a 10 minute walk to The Garden. I buy tickets at around 6:40 for a 7 o'clock game and get great deals.
I wish I lived close enough to a pro sports team so I could do this last minute on a night I have nothing going.
People probably trying to scalp panicking that they are gonna lose the money they spent scalping
That’s probably just STH reselling, prices will go down closer to the actual game
Jacobs is a greedy prick
💯 This is the same family that had the balls to take Ray Bourque to arbitration. Enough said...
Younger fans have no idea. Jacobs isn’t about winning. He’s about maximizing his ROI. Season ticket holders can only sell through Ticketmaster.
Yep. I paid $400 after taxes last season for 2nd row like 3 weeks out.
That’s just presale it’s always ridiculously expensive
I’m of the mind presale should be the way to get to these games not through resellers.
No, some SUCKER with the thoughts that the team might win the Stanley cup will happily buy them.
2 loge seats for the Golden Knights game came out to about the same price as above. Was I think $840ish in cart with the fees. He doesn't care, those seats will sell
Went to a Stanley cup final game for less than that in 2019
![gif](giphy|tu6WafgphRrAk|downsized)
He's only out of his damn mind if those seats don't sell. Guess what? They'll sell.
lol i was in the presale for the Centennial game...$880 for row 13 in the balcony. Used to get those seats for $10 in 2006/2007. Ill wait for the day of on StubHub.

wow amazing theory there. you should be an economics analyst
this is why games against, say, the canucks, are more expensive than games against, say, the flames
yeah i get performance is why the price is up, but $10 to $880 is extreme. I had just as fun at the games in 06/07 as i do at games now, if not more. I went to the Leafs game 7 in 2013 for $77 a seat, like 5th row balcony. The audacity to charge almost 12 times that for a regular season game…
As a fan across the country, I’ve come to accept that I’ll never be able to go to a game at The Garden
OP upset that the best seats in the house are expensive lol
People pay it though. Complain all you want, come game time, those seats are filled.
This is the thing. Everyone says they're crazy for charging that much. If people are willing to pay that much, of course they're going to charge that much...
It likely isn’t “people” a lot of the time. It’s probably businesses buying two seats for entertainment
Does the semantics of it matter? Fact is, the tickets sell.
How much of that money is going to TicketMaster? I feel like it's not unusual when 30-40% of the total cost goes to TM rather than to the team or band that I'm buying tickets to see.

You can’t blame them. Fans scream and yell “pay this guy” or “don’t let this guy walk”. So they sign them and guess who covers some of their salary? You do!
buddy its a league with a salary cap, get your head out of your ass
So the money appears out of thin air then right. Cap or no cap Super max contract in the NBA 325 million poof it appears growing on a tree!
The cap is set based on how much money the league as a whole generates.
I mean, what's the argument for the teams that charge significantly less but pay their players the same?
Panthers had some of the lowest ticket prices this year.
Defending the billionaire from paying his players is certainly a stance
the bruins income after removing player cost and operating expenses for 2023 was $57 million while the salary cap only increased by $4.5 million
Nobody is making you sit center ice in the lower bowl lol. What are the prices for the 300s?
Now go look at what that seat would cost in Toronto.
You should see them on the road at MSG for $1600 for the same seats, then.
Presale, before the start of the season?
Glad I have seasons but this pricing is insane. Also, Ticketmaster is a ton of season ticket holders that just mark up considering the app encourages it.
I don’t get how it ever became accepted that Ticketmaster sells tickets and charges fees when you buy them and then lets people resell the tickets and charge even more fees to the second buyer. It’s fucked up

Gonna be wild once the Celtics move out of the Garden.
What?
Celts are trying to build their own arena. Been a rumor for a long time but now it’s gaining some traction.
Talk like this never dies because basketball players don't like the cold floor that happens when you cover up the rink.

I would think already having the construction in progress or completed would be an attractive selling point vs it just being an idea.
Man. That’s gotta be at least a decade away if they do that. Where would they even put it?
Seaport or Encore are the rumors. With that said, they could easily begin construction soon and opt out of their current contract if they feel parquet conditions are lacking, which they can be. Numerous times in playoffs this year, and regular season, you could see water leaking through. That isn’t the bull gang, that’s the building itself.

Really? I heard across from the Encore if the Casino group buys the team.
Where’d you read this? I’m curious
I’m not a basketball guy but wow.
Welcome to the new prices of both teams in the TD Garden. And they will only continue to climb.
It’ll basically cost the same to take a vacation to Southern California and catch them play the Kings and Ducks lol
I’m going to see them against sharks and kings!
I’ve been in LA for the last two years and these games are great to go to. I’ve been working on seeing the B’s at every arena and also seeing every team play in the garden. It’s slow going, but I’ll get there.
I tried at 10 am,and saw the prices, and quickly signed right out. They and the Celtics have priced families right out of the Garden.
Price gouging is when there is a state of emergency and you raise prices on necessities (eg gasoline when you’re evacuating Houston) Not when a fun little excursion to the city is too expensive for your liking
You're right despite the downvotes. Sucks tickets aren't more affordable, but tickets, especially in the lower level, are a luxury and that's always going to cost a premium.
Shut up.
I honestly cannot recommend PWHL Boston enough for many reasons, and this is one of them
Yep, and it’s the last season for Matthews Arena so get over to some kind of Northeastern game.
Absolutely gonna try hard to get down there. I remember doing hockey camps there as a kid 😔
If you’re interested in a good team you can go to Conte Forum to see BC
All set boss.
Sad to see such a historic arena go, isn't it?
Heartbreaking. a lot of good memories there and so so much history
Is it really crazy if people still pay it?
You get people more interested in going to the game and being seen, and you don’t get working class passionate fans. Not gonna lie there’s been a few times the garden has not been very loud lately.
yes.
Why would ownership lower ticket prices if they're still selling out the building with higher prices?
Because I think most people believe that you shouldn't have to shell out 300-1000 dollars to go see a hockey game in a normal seat... Even nosebleeds nowadays are stupid expensive.
because i heard that hockey is for everyone.
"Hockey is for everyone with cash or credit. Or just watch it on TV, peasants." - NHL owners probably
Like 125 bucks to get in the door isn't crazy for one of the most in-demand teams in the league year after year, in the most obsessive sports market in America. Not even 6
I can’t believe people are still buying them at these prices.
Balcony is 210 a ticket for most games, nobody is going to pay that. That is not what face value is for season ticket holders.
I'm in VA and the one game they are playing down here in the regular season says that tickets aren't available. I have no clue why.
This is a really great college hockey town
I’d love to bring my daughter to a bruins game but the pricing as a single father is just too much. So we go to as many U-Lowell Riverhawk games we can and will occasionally take a ride into the city when they play at BU. Her great grandfathers painted in Agganis Arena so she enjoys going to see her buddy. Hopefully someday she’ll get to experience a Bruins game but for now it’s NCAA games or the NCAA Tournament.

What’s “tree…fiddy”?
Why is he out of his mind? What would be out of his mind is charging less if someone is willing to pay $366 for that seat.

What app?
Can confirm, this is Gametime
That looks like Gametime to me
Looks like the gametime app logo in the bottom left above buy
This game is $108 for Balcony. Loge seats are always crazy expensive. Also, use the Gametime App and not Ticketmaster. It’s way better
$108 is still crazy expensive.
You used to be able to get into loge got less then 300
When? 15 years ago?
He's only out of his mind if people don't buy them.
It sucks dude. But you know what? PWHL is popping off and I could afford season tickets as a regular person so this is just pushing me to get my butt in that seat instead. Support your local PWHL, AHL, ECHL, or college team instead until they stop with this crap. Stream all the games for free.
P Dub rocks. 20 bucks for seats and the weekend games have great crowds.
I still hope they move to Agganis next season.
The Lowell lock Monsters/devils defined my experience and made me want to play hockey. I'm perfectly okay with pro hockey at the Tsongas.
Are the women though? I imagine for travel/professional reasons, I am sure they would rather be in Boston proper.
I do too, but with the Walter Brown renovation, BU WIH is going to start the season in Agganis so I'm not quite sure how scheduling shakes out.
Not going to happen. Thats an Olympic sheet not NHL
Granted, I don't sit down in those sections, but this is about what I would have expected those seats to cost
Disgusting
You put this up 6 minutes before my post….they were asking $880 for a balcony seat to see Columbus on a Monday in November.
Whats nuts is these are newsletter presale. They usually go up when they get to general on sale.
First two rows of the balcony are bigger, padded seats. If it wasn't those (which is wild already) it would be completely unhinged.
C’mon, a regular season game on a weeknight? 2 Grand for a pair? I paid a quarter of that for Game 5 Celtics/Miami
You can go to both nights of wrestlemania for less.
For real!!!
He sells out every single game so he's clearly not out of his mind...
Good point, because someone is buying them.
