Depends on what you’re evaluating. The school is one of the newest in Peel, and has air conditioning all over.

rtropic

Its not new. Castlebrooke is new.

High School is what you make of it. Any highschool you go to has issues. It’s not hard to find trouble in any high school you go to(even if you went to a Catholic School). Get involved with whatever school you go to and contribute to the positives of the school rather than getting sucked into being part of the negatives. Too many people want to be waste yutes in high school and peak in high school and not do anything of significance after high school. Yes, Sandalwood has a bad rep, but the building isn’t the issue, it’s the few students over the years who give it such a bad reputation. I was supposed to go to SHSS, but I was in grade 12 when it opened so I got to stay at Ching(previously the home school for the area). Everyone younger that lived in the boundary had to go to Sandalwood. So imagine you’re told you have to go to a new school because one was built closer to you, and you’ll be with some familiar faces, but a bunch of other students who you never knew will also be there because more houses exist in the area. IMO thats part of the rough start for the school, and things perpetuated. Students avoid wanting to go there because of all the things they’ve heard. But don’t give it a chance. Resulting in less students going there, resulting in less funding, resulting in confirmation bias that it isn’t good school, so people avoid going there. Someone said they don’t have programs, they have [EHS](https://www.peelschools.org/explore-high-skills) programs and [SHSM](https://www.peelschools.org/specialist-high-skills-major) Even after all what I’ve said, people will make their choices. You do you

you may be able to access crime reports on the p. police’s website. behicle thefts, drug possessions, assaults, etc

Training-Job-7217

Where was all that fun sex, drugs, and rock roll when I went there 😩

Training-Job-7217

Ahh butter chicken “yo jaskaran deck em bro” school (only real ones remember the classic legendary butter chicken brawl)😎

HSK117

It's your typical brampton high-school that's about it

MollyMacintosh

To be honest, I wouldn't really say so. Might be that my school is a competitor of SHSS, but IMO, Harold M. Braithwaite is the better school in that vicinity. SHSS is better than Louise Arbor (I think), but a lot of drama tends to go down there - especially in comparison to the other schools in the area, such as Heart Lake SS, or Chinguacousy SS. One reason HB is better is due to it hosting the IB program, (50% of total school population), however, that causes a brain drain for Sandalwood, I've heard.

Ok-Bullfrog667

Did this school have a pool before I know times have changed since then I could be wrong 2010-2016?

Beginning_Box_9813

As most public high schools in Brampton go, very little diversity

back in my day we called it suicide heights … do what you want with this

Solid-Intention3709

No, no special programs, not good at athletics, has little to no diversity and is on the more dangerous side of schools in PDSB.
