If it is what I think it is, then they are the aftermath from when Herman Goering let loose a few Racoons, to "make German fauna(?) richer", that was in 1934…. Those racoons are now probably millions..
So I checked out the [link](https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/28611067/germany-overrun-nazi-raccoons-invading-homes/) and it turns out the raccoon population in Europe is approaching 1 million. They're a nuisance and an invasive species but that seems like all it is.
Did they not learn from Australia's follies with introducing non-native species? Though I mean...nazis aren't known for their ability to think logically
The two populations of raccoons in europe were both created (indirectly) by the nazis. One was a fur farm that was targeted by an ally bomb raid and the critters got free. The other population got its start whrn nazi era government released some on purpose for hunting.
When the raccoons came for crumbs in the parks they said nothing, for raccoons are adorable. When they ate sunflower seeds out of neighbors bird feeders they said nothing, for it wasn’t our bird feeder…
A pun- Hasch, meaning a Cannabis product in popular language- Bavarian conservative government has a silly problem with that since it became legalized by federal law... and also with 'problematic bears' in the past.
That's funny! Oddly, it was just around the time I gave up cannabis that my house started being invaded by the fat trash pandas, but I'm sure it's just a coincidence. So for me, it's besser Haschbar.
What makes them Nazis

So how is this news instead of an ongoing problem
Who knows, I didn’t check out the link, maybe the desease part is new. I should add that they have spread across the continent, not just Germany

Tbf, it almost happened at the same time, and I doubt the Nazis and Australia spred those news around worldwide 😂

Probably not new; years ago I read a Wikipedia blurb about the Nazi’s importing of raccoons.

"Besser Waschbär als Haschbär" (old Bavarian saying).
I know waschbar (literally “wash bear”) means raccoon, but what does haschbar mean?
