This isnt so much about getting mastery, it is about getting the prizes from the mastery road, progressing the account and then selling it probably. Most of the time that you see bots being used there is some kind of money scheme behind the scenes.
The higher total trophies you have the more players do this. These players are everywhere around 40-50k total trophies if u play around 400 trophies but on my alts on 10-20k total trophies they are nowere to be seen

I remember that they started to pop up in Chinese brawl stars first; I bet if supercell made an announcement saying that they'd start banning people who do this they would stop. If most of these accounts are around 40k I doubt people will risk losing them just to get some mastery.

Announcement wouldnt stop it, its just a threat without action, infact it wouldnt surprise me if a lot of these accounts are stolen or just bot accounts from the start (as well as people paying for boosting). How is it simple? Technically these bots would never be flagged afk because they move and attack, even the most basic ones just attack on the spot. The game thinks theyre playing otherwise they would have been disconnected for being idle.
the best solution I found is making the players have some participation on the match (doing a certain amount of damage, kills, healing) to give them mastery points

Every 2 losses is a guaranteed bot match. Let your teammates carry you through bot matches and don't give a shit if you ruin people's experiences along the way

An easy solution would be to allow us to block players, I rather have longer queues than mastery farmers on my team. Eventually if enough people block the same person it might raise a red flag faster than trying to get a competent support ticket employee to take action which in my mind is far better than the current system we have.
Only 1 way to escape this (for now).. Push every single brawler more than 350 trophy..

Im a master player (back when pl days), and i play a lot of matches, mostly around the 1100 hundred trophies. But when i play on a mini acc to play with irl friends, i almost never see this. (every trophy range, from 0 up to 2500) The only place i do see is in r35 duels, but outside from that nowhere. Is that strange? Or is it just the matchmaking?

A lot of people are asking what mastery farming is, I think I first saw it on reddit or a SpenLC video when he was ranting about one such random. It's those players who choose to afk in a game only spamming simple move or attack prompts so that the automated system won't flag them as inactive. They do this to farm mastery (mostly in normal matches but sometimes in ranked too) for their characters, truly despicable. I genuinely believe these are done by players who don't care about the game at all.
Nowadays, I mostly play ranked since I realistically am only able to play 5-7 days per season due to real life obligations and time investment in other games as well. So it was quite suprising when I was playing normal matches to clear my missions that I encountered so many of these mastery farmers.
As a player who has played this game since beta and gone through its ups and downs, I do believe and am patient about Supercell addressing this issue, but they need to do something ASAP. I don't believe they've replied to these posts talking about looking into these issues but I may be wrong.

Explanation: Games are easier to win at lower trophies, so tilting on purpose will allow players to farm mastery easier with a higher win rate, than have a lower win rate at higher trophies
It's stupid though, they could just do it in Showdown
They should make it so that you need at least a kill to earn mastery. Like most of the matches you're gonna do some kills anyway and if you won't but still win, you're probably dragging the team down so the mastery progress isn't really deserved.
