as a mortis main, I can assure you that even with the absolutely desolate state mortis is in the meta right now, I can still bonk the shit outta pam, rico and surge with my shovel.
I don't play surge but I can defeat him almost every time with mortis. Been a mortis main for 6 years now, you don't just dash in directly. wait for him to waste a few shots and if you can predict his super landing spot then you'd win every time. The only problem is his gadget, which if he pops, you run away and try again. unfortunately that's kinda how you have to play mortis these days. lots of baiting and running away to charge super.
I don't play mortis but I can defeat him almost every time with surge, any good surge player knows a mortis will bait so you need to do the same. If the mortis dashes into me i will just use my gadget charge super, using my super then repeat and kill mortis with the extra speed and range from stage 3
story time, once i accepted a friend request from an edgar after they stayed in the corner and did nothing but do thumbs down all match. i though "ah fuck it" then accepted it. dude threw some bait like "u are noob player noone loves you" and i sent a cat emoji in response 🐱. then we talked for a bit and played some games. in these games dude actually gave it his all and it was either me or him that got the star player (mostly them). in the end dude said "you’re a great player my friend, see you around" make what you will with this story lol

I was playing with my friends I carried 15-3 and he went 2-6 and my other random went 4-5 and he friend requested me because of my mediocre trick shots.
I have no reason to, it takes time to get good at a game and this person was probably hasnt been playing for a long time so its only logical that he is bad at the game, and that he does not know that edgar is pretty bad right now. He didnt play well but thats not a reason for me to hate him
