GArockcrawler

she's very regal!

TgagHammerstrike

Indeed, she even has a throne!

[deleted]

With a great name!

Concert-Turbulent

OMGGGG those toe hairs just got cuter once I could place a face to the beanssss

spacemusicisorange

Ermagawddd your cat is the opposite of mine https://preview.redd.it/lyic6fvhvzmb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42443c8d6a4cf7b5b29009e09fefc03f583d7ab0

KrissyPooh76

He looks like he has an ace of spades on his face.

spacemusicisorange

Yessss!! I love it!!!

I_PM_Duck_Pics

Rorschach!

sprigandvine

So cute!! I do trim our furry girls toe hairs because they can get matted but depends on you!

DemonDucklings

I do too, it also traps a little less litter clumps. She’s really good about cleaning the clumps herself, but I don’t want to have her eating any toe-litter if we can avoid it. Plus trimming the toe fluff makes her feet look like adorable little cotton balls

ImTyertIHadItUp2Here

Please can you take a pic of the freshly trimmed cotton balls next time ?!!!!! 😭

Antina5

I have a long haired cat who won’t let me trim his toes. We used clay litter once with him and never again. We use World’s Best cat litter, it’s made from corn cobs and is clumping. I also use it for my foster cats/kittens.

Valuable-Locksmith47

Yo is it weird if I say this cat reminds me of the 90's 🤣 idkw!!!!!

Sky4nier

Omg me too! I think there was a little neopets like trading card game at the time that had a very similar looking cat creature! I'm trying to find a picture of it lol

CrochetCricketHip

Quinn is so majestic. Did ya trim the foot fur?

JenkGarr11

Decided to leave it after reading all this. She doesnt seem to care.

PrecariousPaperwork

Those are bean sprouts!

the-author-0

This is so frucken cute lol

lifeshardandweird

r/toefeathers

jnbeatty

My furry boy had his vet visit last week and the vet actually instructed me to trim these for safety. He recommended the Wahl Pocket Groomer on Amazon. He said it can be dangerous for cats since they like to jump down from tall heights and the fur can cause them to slip and injure themselves.

omg she’s gorgeous! long hair cats for the win!!!

_xvv

omfgggg Quinn is so cute! I think she just cured my seasonal depression 💜

YanaBanana02

SMILING!

pinkjester21

awww quinn hiiii

RedneckAngel83

What a **BEAUTY**!!!

barbaricMeat

Quinn looks like the cat from [The Last Unicorn](https://youtube.com/watch?v=Phh9lHOTUko&feature=shared). But I think all black and white cats look like him.

ResurgentClusterfuck

You can trim it if you feel you need to or if she gets litter trapped in it but it looks like she keeps her feet very clean so it should be OK

Valuable-Locksmith47

Hmm I do have an issue with tracking so I'll pay more attention the next couple of days! That would he so nice not have litter trails anymore lol

ResurgentClusterfuck

I got a gigantic litter mat and that helped a ton. I mean this thing is about 4x as big as my litter box, and I have an XXL one for my chonk of a cat

geologyken27

Can I ask you to drop a link? 😂

ResurgentClusterfuck

[Right here ](https://www.walmart.com/ip/265057664)

Opposite_Ad3090

why did i think you were dropping a link to your cat

Daniidiino

I was hoping it was to the cat. I wanted to see the chonk 💙😭

ThatGuyLucky

Check her profile lol

Icy_Insect2927

You will have litter trails regardless, just a heads up

Loaded_Baked_Buttato

Also if you have hardwood floors and the kitty has a hard time braking! My cat’s bean hair is ridiculously long and if I don’t trim it she runs into the wall during zoomie time

bekcat1

https://preview.redd.it/5nfiaptmixmb1.jpeg?width=1749&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abe76d2d7b2d1d5e177daf3a3c1c121e66d4769a Toby says no.

RaspberryStatus1549

😂😂 I love this! I don't think I've ever seen hair that long on a cats feet!

CYT1300

My Jade has this too! It’s common for long hairs.

doge_ucf

The..the..the.. THE GRINCH!

Angie2point0

My cats are all short hair, but my boy cat has grinch feet, and I love them so much 😭

lobsta_rollz

Like old man eyebrows!

bekcat1

Haha…he is technically an old man now. He turned 7 in July.

green20285

Those are paw mullets. lol

Almane2020202

Maine Coon? My previous boy had hair like that in his paws.

bekcat1

No, he’s just a big calico boy.

KlutzyNinjaKitty

Wait, calico boy? Do you have a full body pic you can share, because that should be impossible unless your cat’s either got an extra chromosome or is a chimera.

bekcat1

https://preview.redd.it/186pwmudr0nb1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33aeb6e944dc7370f46082de359784a7558d48f4 Toby in all his glory.

Omg the Floof! 😍

[Found in their profile.](https://reddit.com/r/CalicoKittys/s/c31E81RcBi)

Kitch404

Prob a mutt but I believe calico boys do exist, they’re just super rare

Daniidiino

1 in 3000! 🥰

jinxlover13

I also have a calico boy! I don’t think they are quite as rare as they want us to believe; he’s the second one I’ve had in 10 years and they’re just foster fails. I’m not out looking for one lol. He definitely is an anomaly though, he’s so needy and weird 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/t6e9tnrjs1nb1.jpeg?width=734&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10d6037f099171e6a3087ceb2431f9989398939a

Junebuggg91

Bean sprouts!!!!

catdog5100

This is the perfect name for these

catered-diamonds

We call them toehawks

otterly-educated

We call them “grinch paws”

poopityscoop4

i’m squealing at bean sprouts 😭🥺

XanaxWarriorPrincess

You should admire it several times a day. Some people trim it, but it's not necessary.

webhick

We had the groomer do it one time when trimming nails and my girl was distraught. She hisses at the groomer during nail trimmings now. Cooperates just fine, but hissy just the same.

fullautohotdog

Big fan of the toe moustaches, as I call them...

Valuable-Locksmith47

Omg my girls actually let me trim them off last night! I'm not gonna lie I did it for me it's been driving me crazy for a year lol.

green20285

My cat is afraid of scissors, so I've left his tufts for years. He also gets them behind his ears. Litter doesn't seem to stick to them either.

Valuable-Locksmith47

Dude I got them when they passed out high on the nip hehehe. I just wish I could give them bathes!

Honeykombbaggins

My cat meows the whole time but she is calm and still.

Valuable-Locksmith47

Girl give her a lil nip nip or benadryl. Obviously joking about the benadryl lol. But maybe ask your vet for gabapentin whenever you want to do some difficult grooming?

Siege_LL

As a professional groomer we never use scissors to remove paw pad hair. Not sure how it is for cats but for dogs we use electric clippers with a #10 blade.

green20285

Scissors are also too dangerous. A much higher chance of cutting your furry critter if they happen to flinch. This is very good information.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Valkariyon

Groomer here. I use a 10 on dogs, and I would never use a 30 or a 40 on cats. We rarely ever need a 30 or a 40 blade at all in the salon, to be quite honest. 30s are actually risky for paw pads, and I've never used a 30 for mats. Please don't give out bad information. EDIT: The fact that there are pictures on your profile of dogs walking off leash in a salon area is enough reason not to take advice from you.

Icy_Insect2927

I’d attempt to use those little dainty electric trimmers for eyebrows. I’ve considered giving my girl a cut to make her look like a lion and decided that’d be the safest route for me in the long run. I’ll probably never attempt this. However she didn’t freak out when I tested the waters and turned it on near her. I’m not brave enough to give her a haircut. Shit, takes me a solid month to heal after giving her a bath.

green20285

It can look weird the first time you get it done though. Mine can't go to a groomer since he bites so we have the very do it with sedation.

soveryeri

Perfection in one photo!

River-wind-peace888

Omggggg it’s a boop 😭😻

Icy_Insect2927

I love him

Icy_Insect2927

What do you use to sedate him? Mine is a ginger too and is easily the most loving affectionate girl. Or the most viscous cat I’ve ever encountered. She suffers from the most extreme bipolar behavior I’ve ever seen

meow_rchl

Try electric trimmers

KittenFace25

This. That way you won't accidentally nick those beans.

kate1567

It’s better to use clippers than a scissor. A scissor can cut them if they move fast.

mibonitaconejito

YES! This is SO imporyant - please, pleeeeeease rub your nose on them for me, lol Omg...SO freaking cute!

BornTry5923

Ma'am, those toes have been in the litterbox!

R_Da_Bard

Yeah I learned the hard way as lovely as cats are they are full of bacteria. I put my cheek on my cats belly when I first got her and got such bad acne from it. Did it again cuz I was a teenager and didn't know it was from her and I had acne anyway, but when it inflamed again it hit me...they constantly lick themselves... shame too cuz she is so damn fluffy.

CaptainBiceps23

Are you sure you're not allergic? I am and have to wash my hands every time I touch my cats or I get a rash.

Mazdab2300-06

Have them checked for ring worm. Or whatever diseases cats and humans share

R_Da_Bard

No I have oily skin and had bad acne as a teen, my face must be real sensitive to bacteria is all. Thankful I out grew it :)

[deleted]

dreamgrrrl___

Every time I kiss a toe bean I do a little prayer that I don’t die because I can’t help myself. It’s my grossest habit.

Bluurryfaace

Felt this one on a spiritual level. My newest kitten loves sniffing inside mouths. I can’t just deprive him of that. My boyfriend and I both open our mouths and he just sticks his nose in and sniffs. I’m well aware it’s weird but you can’t say no to a lil baby.

Trash2cash4cats

Omg!!! LMAO. I imagined the scene from Beattlejuice when they were trying to scare the humans and they had those long beak/noses faces they opened wide. Lol. With a kitten deep in sniffing. Lol.

BuildingRelevant7400

So has the rest of the cat.... plus they lick their butthole. I still get kisses from my little void.

Mazdab2300-06

The cold hard truth.

WildFlemima

"Help my cat is a baby and too cute, is something wrong" \-half the posts on this sub

JenkGarr11

Oh come on i posted feet pics thats not cute baiting

amy000206

The toe beans are precious

cekkots

I second that! Grinch toes especially! :)

PatientPear4079

Yes, soooo precious and so are paw floofs

water_for_daughters

Lol, I think you can't win this argument 😇

doslindosgatitos

You must tickle them beans

Valuable-Locksmith47

Second that lol

Jessisan

r/toefeathers would love this

lobsta_rollz

Thanks! Another sub to join!

Jessisan

I believe there’s a sub that lists all of the cat ones too! However, I feel like it’s a very nice surprise when you stumble across a new one randomly, right?

Icy_Insect2927

Here’s when she definitely didn’t have much going on in her brain and got an anti-gnat sticker stuck to her chest.

Icy_Insect2927

Mine has too much going on in pictures. The moment she hears me open the camera app on my phone, she’s ready to charge most of the time. Unless she’s busy putting on a plastic bag that is. Then it’s decisions decisions…. Assume she’s debating on whether to wear it as a cape or a turtle shell 🤔 https://preview.redd.it/45vo7jpdlymb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7d5949bba0c07f3b302497c24549251e1bb48de

FantasticForce6895

A super orange!!

trillium61

Grinch toes! Leave them alone.

Aromantic-Bat-738

I call them Grinch paws!

LeatherAmbitious1

Nope! Some cats have them, like main coons, because the breed was meant to withstand a bit of cold. I always said the fur was their mittens for throwing snowballs 🤣

Longjumping-Fox4690

It also helps reduce paw prints in the snow! So they can hide from other predators better. Animals are so cool.

RainbowUnicorn0228

It doesn’t need to be trimmed but if it bothers you or her you can absolutely give t a trim.

BeeConfident7328

that’s like one of the best parts of a cat

ACorDC

BEANS

lemontenders

My boy has some WILD hobbit feet, I trim them whenever I cut his nails :) He likes to jump on our counters and desks and tends to slip and slide when the fur is too long!

Icy_Insect2927

I say you should definitely let his hairs grow out and start recording. Do get close up of toe hairs of course, but being cute and sliding around is good stuff too. Then, post here

BlackJeepW1

I think it’s very normal for long haired cats to have long hair between the toes. The long haired cat we had also had the long fur between his toes. Sometimes it gets gross but he needed bathed regularly anyways so we just washed between his toes really well and never cut it.

Kitchensuppliess

The only problem is it MIGHT cause him to slip and fall if he runs and slides on hard floors but its not gonna injure him past the idea of a kid pinching himself and crying about it-

I like to give the toe tassels a tug while she’s napping. She wakes me up, I’ll wake her up.

Thzkittenroarz

Don’t you dare cut that paw floof 🐾

green20285

I'd leave it. My cat has tufts on all four paws and it doesn't bother him.

lady_dracula_83

Looks like she needs a little trim on her paws

Minute_Story377

My cat has long toe fur too lol. I like tickling it lmao

Easy_Arm_1987

No big deal, you can trim it with scissors ✂️

Mister_Green2021

Watch 'Girl With The Dogs' on YT. She grooms cats too.

annebonnell

What furry feet! 😄 Unless she's having problem on slick floors, let them be. I've had cats with furry feet and never had a problem.

Fish_OuttaWater

Our ragamuffin plows into things when getting his sliding glide on… So I ensure to do our more hardcore playtime on rugs or carpeted areas. I haven’t trimmed them personally yet, but when he’s been groomed I’ve asked them to trim his bean tufts up. It grows back so fast tho.

LilyGaming

Nah toe feathers are normal

xDaBaDee

oh the beanssss the beansssssss! so cuuuute

[deleted]

No. Leave it alone. As long as the kitty is happy- don’t do anything.

lunatikdeity

I had a cat when I was a kid/teenager and he would gladly let me trim his paws to look purty.

Icy_Insect2927

🫢🫢🥰🥰🥰 OML, those paws❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

john_thegiant-slayer

I wouldn't worry about them. She'll pluck them if they're bothering her.

TiaraTip

I let my girlie keep her grinchy paws. Also, I like it when she zooms and skids on the wood floors! Her short-haired siblings don't have that cool factor.

Hyperspacetrvlr

So long hair on an animals paws is natural selection for walking in snow. The hairs act as snow shoes for the paws and spread surface area. So really depends on the environment your kitty is in. If there’s any chance of a snow encounter then leave the fur and if not the you’re good to trim. You can also trim off for spring/summer and let regrow for winter

ginnnnnnnnny

They’re bean sprouts. 🫘🌱

Tomorrow_Wendy_13

Daisy \*hates\* it when I trim her toe floof because then she has too much traction and can't run and slide across the floor, which is one of her favorite things -- especially when going approximately 90 mph down the hall. I just let her keep it and have her fun, she keeps it very clean.

stuffedtherapy

You can get it trimmed at a groomer or your vet can often do it as well as a sanitary trim around the privates

Full-Dig-3048

Ive had a few cats over the years but only one had tufts of hair between his toe beans. He ended up being my only long haired cat.

kaypiob

Tickle dem floofs!

That_Illustrator240

Maybe a trim. She’s eventually going to get what I call pee foot and all the litter will stick to it.

atomicomic

Omg hobbit kitty

Readalie

KITTY SLIPPERS

Penny-Bun

Tug them gently so she hates you!!! And then tell her it's her fault for having bean sprouts!!!!!

roc99997

My cats have fluffy paws and it’s not a problem unless they get startled while standing on the laminate floor…Then it’s a cartoon scenario where they’re basically running in place for multiple seconds before they’re able to get anywhere lol 😂

totally_anomalous

Girl with dogs on YouTube trims the "grinch" feet on dogs AMD cats because that fur picks up litter box debris, whatever is on the sidewalk outside, and absolutely nothing you want tracked through your house.

potassium_god

I personally find that my two long haired cats track litter more when the tufts are left. I'd recommend trimming at least two paws and see if you notice a difference.

JayofTea

Probably depends on the cat, my girl is a short hair and gets her litter tangled in her back paws (idk if she’s peeing on her feet or what), but if your baby keeps his or her paws clean, it’s probably fine to not trim it. Personally I’d probably shave it down with pet safe trimmers though

Early-Tumbleweed-563

No! Those are her grinch toes. It is a federal offense with mandatory prison time if you touch them!

[deleted]

I occasionally trim my cat’s due to drift. Ut you have to REALLY know what you’re doing so no accidents Groomers do it all the time. Not necessarily but helpful

Whis65

Fluffy toe beans🥰🥰🥰

shygardenfairy

toe bean rugs!

lobsta_rollz

Don't trim them, it's for speed runs

ExtinctFauna

My parents have hardwood floors, so I sometimes trim their cat's grinch fingers. Makes me think I'm helping with traction.

shmimey

Do you have hard wood floors? Zoomies can be different if you trim.

Pand0ra30_

You can trim it if she let's you. It's not hurting her.

kate1567

You can shave out her paw pads.

KayCatMeow

You can tickle it.

skula

TICKLE THEM!!! 🪶🪶🪶

italkabout

Omfg those are the CUTEST toes beans ever!!!

WoodyM654

We call em “sweepers”

Natural-Knowledge782

honestly, it wouldn’t hurt to take her to a groomer to get her pawpads shaved. especially if she’s driftin around lol

minxiejinx

I was going to ask something similar because my 5 month old is getting some long fur in between his beans. I've only had shorthairs and I think he's a medium so I can only assume given his age it'll grow longer. https://preview.redd.it/cnwe6rua3ymb1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=65fe350b76d23e71317e868404415dc9a1e35bd9

xKiver

If you want to, go for it, it’s totally fine :) I keep the toe tuffs on my kitties paws cause I think it’s so damn cute. I don’t shave the tuffs unless specifically asked to by the customer 👍 (I groom kitties lol) most people have the same opinion I do. (But if your kitty has an issue tracking litter everywhere, it may help lol)

4StarsOutOf12

My ex once half-jokingly threatened to trim my cat's toe bean fur when we were in an argument. Leave the baby paws alone! They're fine

HealthyComplaint2874

Those are her snow shoes :) I have Norwegian Forest cats, they have some serious snow shoes! We also have wood floors, but mine love the added drift bonus for their zooms.

Susan_Thee_Duchess

My sweet, now passed kitty, had toe fluff. I liked to gently tug it when she was sleeping. ☺️

Adorable_Reality5953

Main_Consideration94

You SHOULD trim them, but it will never be life threatening. One thing to bear in mind is bacterial growth if it mats. Other than that, she should be perfectly okay! Look at those peets.

Puzzleheaded_Pie_978

Grinch feet!!!!!

sj2890

BEANS!!! 💜

KaiRayPel

I usually walk by and tickle the hair

chixnwafflez

Leave her alone. So unnecessary.

Karenzo81

Nahhh, let them stay! My cat has them too and they’re the cutest thing ever

maefae

Those are scientifically known as beanstalks and just add to the cute factor.

Childlikehands

I love toe tufts so much. One of ours has them and I always compliment him on them.

MedicineOutrageous13

Kiss it. Duh.

Tricky-Juggernaut141

I would trim if your kitty is of advanced age. Sliding around is no good for aching joints and can cause injury. If she's young and spry, I wouldnt bother unless you know you'll need to get her used to it. It's the same reason why dog owners should make sure to have plenty of rugs on hard floors when their dogs have achy joints. We also trim our dogs paws between the toes.

Timothahh

I have a fluffy tuxedo like you do and when we trim his paw hair he LOVES the traction

[deleted]

You are never. Ever supposed to to harm the feep tufts

_Cloud_Queen

Love the toe feathers.

Fringie

Yes, give the pawsies a kiss
