The rest go on the paper copy and if you carry one that’s on the paper copy you just bring out the paper copy. But it’s stupid to have that many on the ccw imo. Because everything that’s on the ccw if your not carrying needs to be locked up in the safe at home.
Yea no problem with that. But say when you have all of them on their like in the case of my cousin lol his wife can’t touch em because they are all on his ccw
It’s folded in half and sitting in my passport. I carry in a cross body bag with my store cash, passport, wallet and shit. I have a restaurant and am the head chef, so I don’t like to carry around extra weight while cooking. I have my passport because we always go to TJ after work and get tacos… if I’m body carrying I usually keep a pistol that’s not on the paper and on my card and just keep the card next to my ID in my wallet.
I can conceal it AIWB but it’s better OWB with a jacket covering it if I’m being honest. Daily driver is a 19 and 26 is good for summer carry. I just really like the Glock platform and shoot them the best.
I daily my G17 in a Safariland IncogX AIWB comfortably and with little to no printing.
I even have the sidecar attachment with a mag extension on the spare mag and a school bus sized optic on the gun.
Its my daily because nothing beats the smoother recoil of a full size, also the capacity of 17+1 and a spare mag with 22rds is hard to beat.
What are your body dimensions if you don’t mind me asking? I’m 6’ 200lbs with a 34 inch waist and can’t seem to carry anything bigger than a glock 26 without significant printing issues
Don't mind at all.
Just under 6'1", 195ish lbs and 33" waist, though I usually buy 33 or 35 pants so it's mor comfortable to carry and I always wear a belt anyways.
It helps to have broad shoulders and some pecks too btw. I'm not SUPER in shape by any means, but I'm not out of shape either and have always had broad shoulders and pretty decent pecks even without doing a ton of bench press or push ups.
That’s funny. I’ve got a little .32 ACP two shot derringer that I bought years ago. I can’t imagine any reason to carry that today given all the great alternatives.
I like variety. Small medium and large. I think it’s important to really think about your life style and what will limit you the least in your day to day life. Capacity isn’t my concern. I choose based off my outfit and my activities. My go to for active days around work or home is my s&w 442. For everything else my Glock 34.
I noticed the 442 and 642 are really popular choices. The capacity seems low by comparison to other options, but I guess your point about lifestyle is the key to deciding what to carry and when. Thanks for the insight.
Been carrying a my two j frames for 5 years now and they are the most versatile option for me. They can be carried in a large jacket, small pack, on my hip or IWB. But if I’m traveling somewhere like the city or I’m just walking around and nothing too vigorous I tend to stick with my 34.
Those limits you mentioned are not universal in CA. The number of guns and magazine capacity depends on your county's IA. For OCSD I don't believe there's a limit on the number of handguns you can have on your license and you're also allowed to use 10+ magazine so long as they were legally obtained. With that said I'm a big fan of the HK P2000 for carry.
Thanks for the info. I do have a few legal 10+ mags, so that’s good to know. The P2000 is a unique choice, I’ve never really looked at one but I’ll check it out.
Most IAs are fine with any mag so long as you legally own them. You had the foresight to buy a bunch of mags during Freedom Week for guns you’d buy in the future, amirite?
The YouTube? Naa, I watch thumb garand, and the test he did on the M&P 2.0, as for the CZ has always been on my must have list, for the shield is my go to for CCW
Lol ah I only say that because honest outlaw loves CZ and S&W. Personally considering getting the 2.0 compact after I pickup a hellcat. Already got an SP01
I would fully recommended the 2.0 compact, it's amazing and shot flawless, there is not much to do to it but light and red dot if you want, also I got 2 M&P mags so you can use the extra grip that comes with the gun, since the other mags that comes with it are short, PM is yo uwant more info
S&W bodyguard for a revolver, 365 for small, CZ p01 for medium, and either a S&W 2.0 full size, a Glock 17, or a 1911 like a Kimber or even rock island contrary to popular belief for a full size
We’re unlimited in San Diego. I have:
G19, P365, Shield
When I renew I MIGHT swap the G19 with a Hellcat Pro and drop the Shield. Only reason is my G19 is heavily modded and I’d rather carry something unaltered in case of use. P365 is what I carry 95% of the time.
I just applied in Solano county.
Submitted:
1. Ruger Max-9 (removed the mag disconnect and replaced the CA compliment slide with the standard slide and a red dot)
2. Sig P229r (added thin grips to make it small as possible, but replaced the slide with one that has a red dot)
3. Glock 29sf which for a fatty 10mm it conceals really well.
I really wanted a P365, but I got the Ruger Max-9 on sale at Sportsman’s Warehouse for $329 and added the slide and red dot for another $350. So total $679. P365 is $699 before you add a red dot. So I went for the savings, but the Max-9 has been a great little gun, so no regrets here! It conceals great!
Limited to 3 is your IA. It's not a CA thing. It's really up to you on your personal preference.
Bulkier clothes a m&p 2.0 compact or Glock 19.
shield/ shield plus or p365 built to a p365X for a general year round.
J-frame revolver or similar size for a small pocket carry.
Before I got my P01 and I was still going through the process for my CCW (LASD). The Deputy interviewing me saw I had listed three Glocks… he got a good chuckle “Three Glocks? 😂”
He was super chill.
I really dont understand how y’all conceal full-sized pistols. My Shield is the skinniest one you can get in the roster, and I simply cannot wear t shirts over it without it looking like a weirdly large off-center crotch bulge with some mechanical hits coming up. And the problem is 10/12 months I can’t wear anything more than a t-shirt without boiling to death.
Right now, I have M&P Shield 9, XD9 and Glock 19. I am planning to get either a Hellcat or a P365 to replace my XD9, which I find too bulky despite its supposed compact size. I mainly carry my Shield.
grip is a bit bulky and long. Will print. I carried aiwb the HKP2000 in dress clothing as well and similar result. The p365's thin width and shorter grip is great for dress clothing.
whatever you already have (like a G19) and a P365 and or/shield which are proven to be reliable. It’s easy to put a red dot and light on a P365 but harder on Shield, Ruger and Taurus bc you have to get the slide milled. LA county limits you to ten rounds even with freedom week mags.
G19 with hoodie or jacket/flannel, P365 for t shirt or S&W 442 in a pocket holster.
I’ve considered a big bore wheel gun or something like a G20 as I do a fair amount of backpacking and camping.
If we're sticking to the California roster, I would go with:
1. Sig P365
2. Sig P320
3. Wildcard gun (something small for pocket carry like a p238, snub-nosed revolver, or something big for woods carry like a Glock 20), depending on your needs.
The first two are obvious choices because you can change out the caliber and size pretty easily, so they give you a lot of options. The third choice, to me, is the toughest, because there are a lot of special cases where you might want a specialty gun like a snub nose revolver, a small pocket carry semi-automatic for hot weather, or something in an unusual caliber like 5.7 (if allowed) or 10mm for extra range or power.
California doesn’t have a limit of three many issuing agencies do, I had five on mine, but only renewed for three, because I never actually carried the other two.
I've been renewing my CCW since 2008. I've ALWAYS put 3 guns on it, but now that we actually have to qualify with all of them, I'm really starting to think about 1, maybe 2. Since my last renewal, 1 of the 3 hasn't left the safe. The largest one was only on me during a hunting trip, when I didn't need a CCW at all. The smallest, my Sig P238, was on my every single day. If I hadn't just bought a P365, I would probably qualify with just the P238 and go home. I think this time around, I'll just have the 2 Sigs. Even then, the P365 probably won't see many outings. It's utterly pointless to put guns on your permit you won't actually carry. Think long and hard about which ones you actually use.
It’s interesting you say that. I’ve been leaning toward the P238 that I’ve had a long time and shoot well, and the P365 that I just got a few weeks ago and also shoot well. It’s gun #3 that I wonder if I should go bigger with or add in a little pocket revolver.
I picked g26, sig 226, and smith 637. I carry the 26 99% of the time now. I have to dress around the 226, and I might as well carry the 26 if I was thinking of the 637. The 637 might be useful if I started jogging, and weight was a huge concern
That makes sense, the size of the G26 and 637 are pretty close but you double the capacity with the G26. The lightweight J frames are pretty popular though.
Yeah they have their place. When weight is the Paramount concern. The blueprint as you said is about the same.
Plus I can shoot the Glock 26 way better. Plus there's the option of a reload with a 17 round mag.
I have P365, CA320, and P226 on mine. Though the reality is I'll probably just swap modules between P365, P365X, and P365 XMacro lol
P226 was just a throw on to the last spot on permit, it was either that or an XD9. On renewel I'll probably swap the P226 with some kind of snub nose j-frame revolver for true pocket carry.
1. LCP 380 micro pistol that I use when I wear a suit or carry in a fanny pack to the beach
2. Shield 9mm, which I carry 90% of the time
3. M&P 40 compact, with full sized “freedom week” mags or compact sized 13 round mags
I wish I could add another and put my Glock 20, in case I am beefing with some bears lol.
Also, I realize that my Ruger LCP is off roster, but a Ruger LCR, which is on roster, can fit that role as well.
Most people seem to think a pocket gun (.380 or .38) and a micro compact 9mm is good. For the third option the question seems to be “how big should I go?” Bigger 9mm or 10mm or .357…. Too bad we can’t have 4.
You’re the first to list a full size revolver. I have a 4” GP100. Great gun but I think it’s too big for me for concealed carry. Do you carry yours much?
LA County limits 3 and only changeable every 2y on renewal. AR pistols not allowed
Smith & Wesson Model 327 in .357 magnum (8rd)
HK USP 45 in 45acp
Glock 20 in 10mm
1 revolver and two semiautomatics all large because I have large hands 🙌🏽. Micro9’s do not jive with my build. Even a Glock 19 is too small for my hand size.
Limit is not 3 guns for all of California. It depends on your issuing agency. I'm in Riverside County and it's 6.
Unlimited here in San Diego! But only 5 will show on the physical license
Really? How that slip thought the gun haters paper pushers.
San Diego has a big military presence. More central political climate since there’s more of a balance.
The rest go on the paper copy and if you carry one that’s on the paper copy you just bring out the paper copy. But it’s stupid to have that many on the ccw imo. Because everything that’s on the ccw if your not carrying needs to be locked up in the safe at home.
An advantage to having as many firearms on your CCW is that if you have one or more down to smithing, you have more options to carry.
Yea no problem with that. But say when you have all of them on their like in the case of my cousin lol his wife can’t touch em because they are all on his ccw
She needs to get her own sweet batch.
My wife has her own, but his isn’t into guns like that
How do you carry your paper? Is it folded up into a tiny square?
It’s folded in half and sitting in my passport. I carry in a cross body bag with my store cash, passport, wallet and shit. I have a restaurant and am the head chef, so I don’t like to carry around extra weight while cooking. I have my passport because we always go to TJ after work and get tacos… if I’m body carrying I usually keep a pistol that’s not on the paper and on my card and just keep the card next to my ID in my wallet.
I didn’t realize that. I saw 3 on the LASD application. Thanks for the info.
Yep, Contra Costa only allows two.
Which 2 did you go with?
P365 and G19.
Good choices
And no weapon lights or RDS
Yep. No modifications at all, even if it makes the firearm easier to handle or increase odds of PID or accuracy.
G19, M&P 2.0 Compact, CZ 75 Compact, Sig P365, M&P Shield, Kimber Micro 9.
It just a rumor but oc apparently you can have up to 30. I don't know if that's true. My ccw instructor claimed to have 15 on his.
3 Glocks
[удалено]
This
This guy knows what works
Yep! G26, G19 and G17 lets go!
Those are the 3 I have on my permit. Perfection!
How do you conceal a 17? What location on your body do you carry it?
I can conceal it AIWB but it’s better OWB with a jacket covering it if I’m being honest. Daily driver is a 19 and 26 is good for summer carry. I just really like the Glock platform and shoot them the best.
I daily my G17 in a Safariland IncogX AIWB comfortably and with little to no printing. Too big to fail.

During my initial someone had 8. Everything from a gold plated kimber, Dirty Harry 44 mag, to a tiny 22 derringer…
That’s funny. I’ve got a little .32 ACP two shot derringer that I bought years ago. I can’t imagine any reason to carry that today given all the great alternatives.
340pd, Sig365 or hell cat, G19. Covers every role/scenario. If you don’t have full capacity freedom week mags for the G19 swap that for a G26.
Not all IAs allow freedom week mags to be carried. In San Bernardino, they told us specifically that those need to stay home.
Great recommendation, thank you!
I did essentially the same: 642, p365, G26 (even with freedom week mags) I used to have : 642, G26, G30sf That was a good line up for me as well.
Very nice. Perfect combo.
I like variety. Small medium and large. I think it’s important to really think about your life style and what will limit you the least in your day to day life. Capacity isn’t my concern. P2k is a chunky choice. I love mine but it’s a recoil heavy pistol. It feels like I’m shooting my Glock 23. But it’s the most lefty friendly choice
The reset is so fucking long on the p2000
Are we still allowed to purchase and/or use 10+ magazines for OCSD?
As long as they were legally obtained.
Most IAs are fine with any mag so long as you legally own them. You had the foresight to buy a bunch of mags during Freedom Week for guns you’d buy in the future, amirite?
Ok, that makes sense. I wish I had the foresight to buy more than I did. Haha
No, you did have the foresight and you did buy many more than you did.
This ☝🏼
I think you picked up more mags than you remember. 😉
Oh, that’s right! I’m forgetful sometimes….
p365, p01/p229, 642 or similar
Small, medium and large. Good choices.
M&P 2.0 compact, Shield Plus, P-01
This is the way ^
Someone watches honest outlaw 👀
The YouTube? Naa, I watch thumb garand, and the test he did on the M&P 2.0, as for the CZ has always been on my must have list, for the shield is my go to for CCW

For sure, I appreciate it! Watching Garand thumb video now lol
Watch the freeze test
Is it the M&P 2.0 with the 4.25” or the 3.5”? I saw the larger one at a shop recently and thought it looked good.
The M&P 2.0 comes in 4" and 4.25"
I’d go: Mid-size (Glock 19/CZ P01) Micro (Sig P365 / Shield Plus) Lightweight J Frame - Those three should cover anything you get.
Nobody said 1911? Dang. Bunch of nerds.
Haha, I’ve got an aluminum frame commander size that I shoot pretty well….
S&W bodyguard for a revolver, 365 for small, CZ p01 for medium, and either a S&W 2.0 full size, a Glock 17, or a 1911 like a Kimber or even rock island contrary to popular belief for a full size
I’ve got a 1911 I like, but in .45 the capacity isn’t great. I sure shoot it well though.
Carry what you shoot the best with
Go for .32 caliber pistol. A keltec or a beretta .32. That what I carry most days.
Glock 26. 🤷🏻♂️
We’re unlimited in San Diego. I have: G19, P365, Shield When I renew I MIGHT swap the G19 with a Hellcat Pro and drop the Shield. Only reason is my G19 is heavily modded and I’d rather carry something unaltered in case of use. P365 is what I carry 95% of the time.

Nice choices. I saw a Max-9 at a shop recently, it looked pretty good. The P229 is a gun I’ve always liked.
Shield plus. P365. G26 if you like bbw
😂” He was super chill.
Shield is my EDC. Glock 19 occasionally
G19, P229, G30SF, S&W 642 adding Hellcat Pro soon
I really dont understand how y’all conceal full-sized pistols. My Shield is the skinniest one you can get in the roster, and I simply cannot wear t shirts over it without it looking like a weirdly large off-center crotch bulge with some mechanical hits coming up. And the problem is 10/12 months I can’t wear anything more than a t-shirt without boiling to death.
Lol which county, Imperial?
P238 G26 P01 I HAVE USE G22 Colt comander G27 Also P238 G27 Colt comander.
My friend carries a 5.7 lol
My personal lineup: Small- Kahr P380 Medium- Sig P364 Large- Glock 19
I put a hellcat pro, a glock 42 and a bersa firestorm
Hellcat pro , sig p365xl, Glock 30sf 10mm conversion barrel
CZ 2075. 10 round sub compact, hard to find. Discontinued but a great gun
365, G19, and whatever other pistol you fancy carrying.
1. Glock 19 2. P365 3. M&p 2.0 compact
Glock 19, Glock 26, add a pocket carry .380 like the ruger LCP Max for good measure.
Right now, I have M&P Shield 9, XD9 and Glock 19. I am planning to get either a Hellcat or a P365 to replace my XD9, which I find too bulky despite its supposed compact size. I mainly carry my Shield.
Basketball shorts/dress up: Sig p365 Shirts and jeans/regular pants : CZ P01/HK P2000 Winter/woods: owb cz sp01
Ah, a fellow man of culture.
Why not p01 for dress up?
grip is a bit bulky and long. Will print. I carried aiwb the HKP2000 in dress clothing as well and similar result. The p365's thin width and shorter grip is great for dress clothing.
I run a Charter Arms .38, and M18 (EDC), and for my third, a Glock 40 MOS, but I have that as a backpack backup when I go camping/hiking
Good callout on the reason for the third. I’ve thought about something larger than 9mm for camping/hiking.
Sig 365 XL, Glock 48, Glock 19
whatever you already have (like a G19) and a P365 and or/shield which are proven to be reliable. It’s easy to put a red dot and light on a P365 but harder on Shield, Ruger and Taurus bc you have to get the slide milled. LA county limits you to ten rounds even with freedom week mags.
I’m an LA county resident, so thanks for the info on the ten round limit.
You’re stuck with the same 3 guns for two years until you renew too, so choose wisely.
S&W sell a precut slide for red dots for the shield. And lights are readily available. So pretty easy.
$300 for a slide? and only weak 100 lumen lights are readily available for the shield.
I love my 42¡
G19 with hoodie or jacket/flannel, P365 for t shirt or S&W 442 in a pocket holster. I’ve considered a big bore wheel gun or something like a G20 as I do a fair amount of backpacking and camping.
That sounds like a well rounded selection. I think I’m limited to 3, so probably no ideal camping choice.
I’m limited to three too and don’t really want to deal with removing one and adding another. I can only dream.
- Sig P365 - Atlas Ares 4.25 - Wilson Combat CQB compact
I didn’t even know what an Atlas Ares was until I just looked it up. Nice list!
If we're sticking to the California roster, I would go with: 1. Sig P365 2. Sig P320 3. Wildcard gun (something small for pocket carry like a p238, snub-nosed revolver, or something big for woods carry like a Glock 20), depending on your needs. The first two are obvious choices because you can change out the caliber and size pretty easily, so they give you a lot of options. Yeah, I’ve been thinking along those same lines. The third choice is either something smaller or something bigger than I’d usually need.
My county is unlimited but I've still only added 4
There are spots for up to 9 guns on the CCW application. It’s up to the issuing authority to determine how many you can list on a CCW license
p238 or s&w bodyguard 380 or similar would be a great small/micro option
I’ve got a P238 that I’ve had for a long time and I like. I was wondering if it’s outdated, but you and others have mentioned it. It is a nice gun.
In San Diego, we have no limit. You just have to qualify with each firearm
Beretta 92FS, CZ 75D PCR, Glock 26
You’re the first to say the 92FS. That’s a gun I shoot really well, but I wondered if it might be too heavy.
The old Devil Dog in me is glued to my Beretta.
Love the beretta
California doesn’t have a limit of three many issuing agencies do, I had five on mine, but only renewed for three, because I never actually carried the other two.
G19, CZ P-01, P365(or hellcat) are my top 3.
Good choices.
Does anyone know if the city of Pasadena has a limit on the amount of handguns that can be on one’s permit ?
I saw the LASD application online which is where I saw there were only spots for 3 guns. You might look online for the Pasadena application.
I've been renewing my CCW since 2008. I've ALWAYS put 3 guns on it, but now that we actually have to qualify with all of them, I'm really starting to think about 1, maybe 2. Get a hellcat. Glock 19, and Glock 30 sf you’ll be fine for a year, then get three more next
Haha. I can see that being the case with all these new guns being added to the roster.
I picked g26, sig 226, and smith 637. I carry the 26 99% of the time now. I have to dress around the 226, and I might as well carry the 26 if I was thinking of the 637. The 637 might be useful if I started jogging, and weight was a huge concern

Thanks for the info. I’ve been wondering about bigger guns like the P226. It’s a great gun, but it seems most people don’t end up carrying them much.
I’m in San Diego and I have 12 on my CCW just because. Biggest is my SA MC Operator, smallest is my CZ Rami
12!!! Do you carry the MC Operator much?
Not very often. Once in a while if I’m feeling spicy I’ll carry it if I’m just out for a short time.
Kern county can have 10
Damn. Nice job Kern County!
1. LCP 380 micro pistol that I use when I wear a suit or carry in a fanny pack to the beach 2. Shield 9mm, which I carry 90% of the time 3. M&P 40 compact, with full sized “freedom week” mags or compact sized 13 round mags
That lineup covers a lot of situations. Nice.
I went with a small, medium, large Shield, G19 w/ light, G34 w/ light and optic
G34 with light and optic sure fits the large category. It’s probably nice to have it on your CCW list if you ever need it.
G19, RAMI, GP100
You’re the first to list a full size revolver. I have a 4” GP100. Great gun but I think it’s too big for me for concealed carry. Do you carry yours much?
It’s my hiking/hunting sidearm. Mine is a 3” though carried in a Craft Holsters tuckable.
It would be nice to have a .357 when I’m hiking or camping. I’ll look up the Craft holster. Thanks for the info.
LA County limits 3 and only changeable every 2y on renewal. AR pistols not allowed Smith & Wesson Model 327 in .357 magnum (8rd) HK USP 45 in 45acp Glock 20 in 10mm 1 revolver and two semiautomatics all large because I have large hands 🙌🏽. Micro9’s do not jive with my build. Even a Glock 19 is too small for my hand size.
