AIWB. Conceals better for me and concealing full size guns is easy. Don’t like how much the grip wants to print at 3-5:30, especially after you bend at the waist or get up from a seated position and your shirt gets stuck behind or over the grip. Also like it better due to the accessibility, especially while in the car. If for some slim chance God forsaken reason you have to draw while in the car and you’re carrying at 3 or further back, your gun is wedged between you and your seat, a seatbelt, under your shirt AND a jacket/coat depending on the weather. Thats a lot to have to get through in a second or two.

TheShrpDrssedShooter

Yes, the part about always printing when bending at the waist. One of the other reasons I carry AIWB.

TheWhiteCliffs

The bigger issue with this is that you may not be fully aware you showed your gun bending over. If for some reason your shirt flips up from wind or taking something off or whatever, chances are you can see who noticed.

Probably_Boz

just slav squat homie.

yungstinky420

I do this tho frfr lolol

TheShrpDrssedShooter

Still shows if you squat. Like I said, I've switched to AIWB. It's a much more comfortable and natural feeling draw to ME. I stated this in my first post and that's the main reason I stopped carrying strong side; appendix is more natural feeling to me when I draw.

Probably_Boz

Oh no worries homie I was joking mostly, do what keeps you comfy and ready to rock

TheShrpDrssedShooter

Oi. Indeed. Cheers!

Lucky-Safe-9504

I’ve never experienced my shirt riding up like you say within my 8mths of concealed owb carry with guns from my Glock 34 down to my 26, sitting down in cars isn’t a problem for me either as i just adjust the seat slightly while Virginia carrying in the car. I can draw but it isn’t the smoothest draw like aiwb in cars I have to lean slightly

BrassAddict93

Well yea if you’re carrying OWB that wouldn’t be much of an issue. I’m speaking strictly concerning IWB

Lucky-Safe-9504

Ohhh gotcha

Hunts5555

Missionary.

EmoJackson

I'm more of a doggystyle guy...

Thebassetwhisperer

Shoulder carry. Hernia surgery and I’m a driver.

[deleted]

Have any good shoulder or chest holsters to recommend? Maybe Glock or sig compatible if that’s what you own

itxploded

I love my galco shoulder holsters.

Thebassetwhisperer

Alien Gear.

Qu3stion_R3ality1750

I actually prefer 3-4 o'clock, it's more comfortable for me. Unfortunately AWIB works best for my clothes and body type as far as reducing any chance of printing, so that's how I carry during every time when it isn't winter/colder. Back when I was working retail I carried in an ankle holster

TheShrpDrssedShooter

AIWB. It conceals better with my slender frame. I can draw the gun faster. And I draw better one handed from that position as well. Also, to me, it doesn't feel as awkward as drawing from strong side position. At least for me...

StoppingPowah

AIWB. It’s not even close. Unfortunately a lot if not all armed jobs make you carry OWB

Qu3stion_R3ality1750

I actually know a guy who did plainclothes security and he carried AIWB.

StoppingPowah

What a lucky bastard. Most security companies make you carry OWB

Hot-Cat353

that's kinda the point of hiring armed security though, right? to *look* armed? i hear your argument though. gotta look out for yourself first.

ar2d266

Some clients like having armed guards that open carry. Some prefer we carry but concealed, so it doesn't stress the workers out. Some don't care how we carry.

StoppingPowah

Yeah it just feels better when carrying AIWB in every way

pwnedkiller

Ok so I have a question I just got a Tenicor Centrum 3 for my G43X. I’m starting to try and carry AIWB my only complaint is that the grip will really get shoved into my belly. Obviously I can lose weight I’m slim but I got a little cushion on my belly. Is there another way I can remedy this issue or is it just a matter of getting used to it.

StoppingPowah

[this holster sits really low so it goes below your belly](https://jxtactical.com/fat-guy-holster/)

pwnedkiller

Ehh I really like the Tenicor so if anything I rather just lose weight. I have a side car I can carry comfortably AIWB I just have not used a holster like the Tenicor before.

mjedmazga

They want the armed guards to be the first ones shot, since that's what they are paying them for, right?

ar2d266

I can do either one at my job, depending on the contract.

Unfair-Middle-7129

Would that not make sense if your job involves carrying a gun? Wouldn't OWB at 3'oclock be easier to access than AIWB?

StoppingPowah

No Everybody knows AIWB is easily the fastest position It’s just that since the gun is hidden it can’t be a deterrent for criminals even though REAL hardcore criminals won’t be deterred but that’s more for the cops to handle than an armed guard or bouncer or whatever Idk why cops can’t carry AIWB

tygerphlyer

I like my right hip about a 2-2:30 position with the handle tilted forward. Its just about the most comfort and easiest to draw. But recently i got a bianchi x15 so im learnin new things. Not sure i like the cross draw nearly as much but could be just cause its new

906Dude

That's an underrated position in my view.

tygerphlyer

Well i dont kno about other folks but i certainly see the benefits of drawin your gun with a very smooth natural swing of your arm. Plus its very comfortable to carry my gun there. And its very easy to conceal my large revolver in the area between my hip, belly, and upper leg.

906Dude

Is it Blackpoint Tactical who make a holster specific for that position? It is their F03 Model -- "Forward of 3:00".

tygerphlyer

Dont kno i made my own holster. But im sure other people could benefit from that info. Imma go google that holster now

tygerphlyer

Yea the F03 is designed for u to carry it in the same place as i do. Its just not canted forward which i find makes for a smoother draw since the gun is already at the same angle as my arm swings when pulling upwards along side my body.

WobblyJFox

Pocket carry for me. It's just really convenient and you can have your hand in your pocket with and on your pistol while you're walking away from a potentially dangerous situation without looking too suspicious.

Beachninja1

What do you pocket carry

WobblyJFox

See my comment to the other guy. If you need any more info let me know!

Beachninja1

Thanks

RaveMittens

Seconding the other reply, can you share what you like for pocket carry? I think LCPs are popular?

WobblyJFox

I pocket carry the ruger lcp max with a 12 round mag. 13 rounds of 380 in your pocket in such a smooth shooting pistol for its size is a blessing. You really can't beat it.

SoggyT0aster

I pocket carry a smith 442 38spl every day and I freaking love the thing

SmittyJonz

I like sock carry

CyberMage256

Strong side 4:00. Appendix just is not comfortable for me on my small frame. I do have an Enigma I wear for work, but when I can untuck a shirt, the Tenicor goes on at around 4:00.

diaperbaby808

In my prison wallet

diaperbaby808

I pull it out like excalibur

Maybe a belly band could help. I CC in Florida and New England. Two different environments but the one thing I can attest for both is a decent belly band. I’m 28M who’s had bi-lateral hernia surgery in my groin so any type of holster kills even with padding (the pillow from masterminds is the best I’ve used so far). I typically wear athletic clothes and I’m a simple man. I use some of the these in different seasons. Masterminds covert belt and a naked holster from essentials holster for a G43X at 3 o’clock, a crossbreed belly band for the G43X that sits right at my belly button (also works for my Sheild plus in 9mm), use shoulder holster, vedder pocket locker or Trex holster on a kore belt at 3 o’clock. I usually wear an undershirt so none of that material rubs on my skin then wear a size XL shirt to hide my set ups. I don’t run optics or flashlights. For my spare mags I sometimes use a sidecar or straight into a pocket (sometimes with a mag cover)

TheZippyFox

Anal

hawkeye45_

Standing.

Probably_Boz

lefty, so 8 with a bit of a forward cant. it's comfortable and i got used to carrying there because when i first started carrying i was working a job were i wore a suit & tie and AWIB is annoying with a tucked in button up. I carry a walther PPS m2 currently and with the 6rnd flush mag even bending over at the waist it doesn't print. I know AWIB is a faster draw but i've done far more training from strongside and being a lefty \*IN THEORY\* anyone paying attention is gonna pay attention to my right hand by default. let me just grab my wallet...

Longbottom_Deeds

Shoulder rig all day- driving all day and in and out of equipment. Its just more comfortable in the long haul

ResolutionHuge4791

pointed at my 🅱️alls

JpyroL

my question is what tape does everyone use 🤔

kexdi

Renfrew

United-Trainer7931

Contrary to what everybody usually says, I’m a skinny guy and 4-5:00 absolutely disappears on my body even when bending over and is super comfortable with zero effort. Getting the mastermind pillow wedge as a last chance for AIWB though. I really don’t like how slow I’d be in the car or similar seated positions so I’m trying to make it work .

Creative_Camel

IWB at 4:00

Shove_A_gerbil

Shoulder holster FTW I got 56 rounds and a Glock 19 that I never notice. If it’s really hot out then 4 o’clock in a cross breed hybrid

Terminal_Lancelot

3-4 o clock or pocket carry for me. I've just not found any way, shape, or form in which appendix carry works for me. Also while, yes, there are concealment and maybe draw time advantages, to me it's not worth the risk and the discomfort.

mlmayo

I can't sit down with AIWB.

Terminal_Lancelot

Me neither.

ImaMurse5233

Try not using a belt. I carry a LCP Max with a Ulticlip, and a Shield Plus with a fabriclip 2.0(built in wing) AIWB. Very secure but still can be adjusted around my belly when sitting. Cheap set ups and it works.

Terminal_Lancelot

My pants fall down If I don't use a belt. Mah ass isn't big enough to hold em up.

ImaMurse5233

True that. I wear scrubs everyday, I guess that helps with my setup! The LCP Max I pocket carry often… DeSantis nemesis for soft PJ pocket holster for kydex.

Terminal_Lancelot

I've been thinking of trying the Demonstrated Concepts deep carry method with an enigma, but the enigma is so damn expensive.

Wuoffan1

I've carried 4:00 for the past year but just switched to appendix. I'm still getting used to it but I definitely am seeing my so many people prefer it

th3m00se

Currently strongside either IWB or OWB. Bag carry if I'm wearing gym shorts or something. Trying to lose the gut to try AIWB but it's just too slow and uncomfortable for my body right now.

Mindless-Internal-54

Aiwb, it’s the most comfortable by far for me.

[deleted]

Deep carry with a Phlster Enigma. Its ultra comfortable and conceals just as good as not carry a gun at all. Plus I can carry in gym shorts.

creamythroat

Missionary, unlimited access at a moments notice

[deleted]

AIWB or Missionary

My_Aunts_Hairy_Bush

Under my flat-brim hat

mild123

Considering getting a smaller firearm like this one (glock 43x mos) or the hellcat pro. Over my glock 19 but hmm I’d have to buy a whole new gun with dot than a new tenticor holster…

FilthFriends

Depends on the weapon I have a snub nose I carry on my back IWB at 4-5 but my Glock I carry AIWB around 1-2

gunmedic15

Strong side IWB. I'm old and fat. I've been carrying that way for a long time and appendix is uncomfortable for me.

TheWhiteCliffs

Appendix. It’s comfortable and concealed the best, and I have the most control of who sees my gun (bending over isn’t an issue) and can’t be easily taken if sneaked up on in a worst case scenario.

huoliver

OWB at 3:30 ish. Ideally under a jacket. With the right rig, I can carry any handgun I own. Bonus - OWB under a suit jacket or sport coat feels real fancy, especially with a nice leather pancake holster.

CrimsonClockwork420

Strongside because it’s the only position that doesn’t limit my range of motion. I just hate it that I have to keep checking and pulling my shirt down

JimMarch

Fanny pack, but to get it right I had to roll my own.  First three minutes shows how it works: https://youtu.be/01uGt2fIdro Draw stroke is basically copied from AIWB.  And just as fast.

ylw_j

Always 3o clock. I’m kinda fat for AIWB and have trouble sitting down.

DaddyLuvsCZ

1pm. Sub and micro. 8-12 rounds cap.

reedzkee

AIWB at 11 oclock. i tried every spot and it's the only one that works for me.

slomustangs12

Appendix with one in the chamber

Lucky-Safe-9504

3:15 owb concealed aiwb never worked for me regardless of holsters and wedges years I switched to Owb I have a natural draw stroke that’s around 1.1ish seconds with neutral cant with my 19.5

[deleted]

Brain says appendix, gut & gun weight say 3-4 o clock I can conceal p365 with 12rd mag perfectly with AIWB. But during colder times or when I want to carry bigger (p365x or xl with 17rd) , it can become uncomfortable due to the weight and having to fasten my belt tighter than usual I definitely want to carry bigger but come with peace that something is better nothing. Less hassle to edc base p365 than making sure im all set tryin to carry something bigger. 5’9 190 for reference

WizardMelcar

OWB . 9 o clock. I shoot left so that’s strong side. My typical “fashion” if you can call it that is jeans & a button up. 🤷‍♀️ it just works.

itxploded

3-4 o'clock or pocket, bag if I have no other choice.

JRB423

4 o'clock. Because.

PudDuddler

Glock on Cock. Or if I’m feeling lazy, I’ll hand my girl the trusty ol M206 and a handful of mismatched loose rounds and tell her my life is in her hands.

Unfair-Middle-7129

One golden desert eagle at 5'oclock and the other at 7'oclock, palm out draw for both.

ImaMurse5233

In my pocket!!!

MNrangeman

OWB at 3 o'clock because I'm an adult that doesn't subscribe to that AIWB bullshit, and once you get good enough through training, you shoot halfway from the hip.

Stand_Afraid

Appendix carry always and forever! It’s the most comfortable and by far the fastest draw, plus it’s much more secure !

AngriestAardvark

3 o clock. It’s the same as my OWB draw and it keeps me from flagging the Crown Jewels.

No_Philosopher7361

Appendix. Because not fat.

SirMaxeus

Anything besides AIWB. I am not risking that move. I carry right side 4 to maybe 5 o’clock position, it’s comfy for me driving etc. Plus I can draw better personally. HCP no optic or accessories yet. Cloak tuck alien gear 3.5 holster.

1umbrella24

You’re risking still shooting yourself at 4-5 and flagging even more people so really you’re taking more risk.

SirMaxeus

Huh? I train with a 3-4 position I got that wrong. Not 4-5 mainly 4. I have never flagged anyone and it’s not really taking risk, also with my background I am fine to say I take precautions when needed. It’s my opinion anyway and whats comfortable for me personally. Rather not risk shooting my junk or anything below on the leg. People like AIWB due to it being effective on draw for them, personally I didn’t like how it felt. I rather not take the risk of shooting my leg or junk etc. But again my personal thought.

RonaldMcStupid

I value my nuts, so I carry at 3:00 on the right hip. People who carry appendix are out of their minds.

1umbrella24

No they train get a reliable firearm (not sig 320) and a reliable holster.

RonaldMcStupid

Yeah, I get all that, but still … even if the odds are 1 in 500,000, I’m not taking them. 3:00 for me!

Probably_Boz

how do you know if someone thinks AWIB is superior? don't worry, they'll tell you.

Weirdusername1953

If it worries you that much, you can get the Glock Striker Control Device from Landon Tactical (The inventor passed away, but his estate licensed the design to LTT) that allows you to put your thumb on the back of the slide, preventing the weapon from firing if there's something in your holster.(Most, if not all, negligent discharges with appendix carry are in reholstering, which is the same if you carry 3:00). I carry almost exclusively appendix. The only time I carry 3:00 is when competing in my local IDPA matches. The guy that owns Texas Gun Club doesn't allow appendix carry, at all. :-) (EDIT) I forgot to add that I carry a Ruger EC9S in an Atlanta Holsters pocket holster when I'm on one of my motorcycles. If I carry appendix on a bike, it tends to put strain on my back, so I carry my normal EDC rig in a locked top box, to change into if I'm going to be off the bike for more than 5 minutes.

GoingJohnWick

I carry appendix most days, strong side for when I don’t feel like carrying, usually my off days or I’m just running a quick errand. I rock a 365XL and it is very concealable.

No-Regret8342

Appendix. Strong side hip was causing my left SI joint pain so I switched and I’m back to squatting low-mid 400s

[deleted]

AIWB. Mostly because it conceals the best, is the most comfortable, allows full range of motion, is the fastest/easiest draw position and the most secure.
