This actually looks pretty cool if you're into 80s sci fi. Reminds me of Star Wars or something John Carpenter would do to make a normal gun seem futuristic, like in Escape From New York when he just took the handguards off of M-16s and called it good lol.
Dont have exact source but I think what that person is talking about is that someone took a 1911 from the literal year 1911 (I forget the exact year but it was a pretty early model), and they cut into it and put an optic on it.
Long story short is there was basically an original 1911 which had an optic and light attached and some ports. I don’t really care that much but just wanted to make sure joke really

~~I think you just need higher powered rounds, otherwise it won’t cycle properly and stovepipes. I shot mine a long time ago and it cycled with some regular 9 mm, just not well. can’t remember what ammo it was, but it needed more than what it had.~~ EDIT: do not listen to me, it’s very likely I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Maybe that’s the problem I was having, ammo was too powerful. When I shot it, this was probably 20 years ago and I was basically a child. Definitely don’t take any advice from me. in fact, I’m going to correct my original comment. Don’t want anybody blowing up a classic because of my dumbass. I swear I read more power needed somewhere but haven’t dug into it. I do want to shoot mine again and don’t want to hurt it.
First time at the range you'll line the shot up through the optic, pull the trigger, get a good hit, then line up the next shot through the iron sights.
You need an ALG six second mount style contraption for this. It’ll prolly be more like a 30 second mount lol to clear the toggle. Drill press go brrrrrrrrr. Hose clamp for the light. Golden.
The first time that action cycles, the optic is going to get launched back in time to Imperial Germany for sure.
You reich about that
I see what jude did there
Stahp it!

I don’t see any issue with the optic holding zero
Tried it. No matter how hard you try to hit the X ring, it's always the Nein, Nein, Nein ring, over and over.
The famous Luger Ring Cycle?
Right, "The Ring of the Nibeluger”.
Someone needs to 3d print grip panels that make it look like a Glock

Almost all the Star wars guns are actually World War II or earlier guns modified with grebles.
Jyn Erso from Rogue One uses a Luger style pistol.
This is actually worse than what admin results did to that 1911
I'm pretty sure his guest was the one that butchered it
Yeah I think it was but it wouldn’t really be asked writing that if I’m being honest
Nah, making tools relevant to the needs of the owner is pretty based
I’m gonna make my foot relevant to the needs of his ass

I'm out of the loop. Source?

Hey ChatGPT, help me pick a cool gun and accessorize it.
ChatGPT: I recommend a Freeze-Ray with a fur coat grip and diamond studded sights.
Does anyone know if there's any commercially available ammo for antique lugers? I was told that you can't put modern 9mm in them.
I use sellier & bellot 115 grain in mine and haven’t had any issues.

I experienced the opposite, the 9mm broke the action and the gunsmith told me that it was because the modern 9mm is too powerful.

So basically you’d need to get into reloading.
That's what the gunsmith inferred. I was just curious if anyone knew of ammo you could buy.
I hate it. How much do you want to sell it for?

I know it’s a joke, it’s still offensive.
I’d be more worried about the optic killing me than the bullet
Shit looks like a Star Wars blaster I would unironiclly shoot that and make blaster noises
"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid." - Han Solo
I don’t understand Weimar people don’t carry in this manner.
If not meant to work, then why fit so well??

I did nazi that coming, anne frankly, I would be surprised if that held zero
This fucks *unfathomably* hard.
any chance sellers interested right nine nine nine?
You mean “nein nein nein”?
there’s another one hiding in there if you say it out loud > chance seller
There are a lot of crimes being committed by political prisoners lately
RIP to that 407C.
Seriously considered carrying a Walther P38 from a relative taken as a war trophy for a while. Obviously didn't.
Yavolt a commandant
Very sci-fi.
Ew. I want one.
All joking aside, the star wars aethestetic goes hard here.

Imagine if guns never progressed past this. This would be a normal edc
Damn this actually looks really clean
🤨
I actually like it
That Michelin grip tho 😮
Michelin grip?
With the TLR and the Holosun 💀💀💀 ain’t no way
What a way to destroy a classic.
I like to think that no firearms were harmed during the filming of this post
A couple of shots later and you're missing all your accessories
That you, Blazkowicz?
Carry appendix in a side car holster to complete the look.
Honestly, it goes hard as a look
This is functionally and aesthetically an abomination before the new Gods and old. I want one. (and yes I know they're just placed there for the pic)
Blud Said "AUF DER HEIDE BL.."
As long as it gets pointed in directions it wasn’t intended for, any Luger is cool.
+ positive points for figuring out how to mount the light flush with the end of the barrel - negative points for “ruining” a classic
