Found the casual fan who doesnt know shit. Wario is obviously a guard [look at that arm length!](https://static.miraheze.org/atrociousgameplaywiki/a/af/WarioSM64DS.png)
How are you just going to leave bowser on the board like that? I don't think his kid, bowser jr., is as much of a distraction as the media is making it out to be.
I was there when the prophet [spoke](https://www.reddit.com/r/CHIBears/comments/11nvntg/i_heard_through_the_grapevine_were_getting_some/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).
I don't think you ban him 100 percent. Just because the Bears want to draft Bijan (if OP is right) doesn't mean they don't think they can trade down and still get him.
I say his account is safe if the Bears end up picking Bijan. If that is at #15 after a trade back that's just good draft capital management
Get his ass outta here!!!
Seriously, from what I have seen in the draft, he could be the best player available at our spot.
I know we have a ton of needs, but I don’t want to reach for anyone either
Poles grabbed another solid guard in Nate Davis and I trust his ability to find OL talent outside of the first round. Also Doug Kramer who was hurt last season could be something
I still want an edge rusher though
"Solid" as long as you think the bears offensive line last year of poor pass blockers and good run blockers is solid
Dude has been a bottom 1/3 pass blocker for 80% of his career.
This is pretty key. People act like the *only* thing we can do to address OL in the draft is #9.
Did anyone have Braxton Jones on their radar last year? Did anyone expect a 5th rounder to start every game and measure up with the first rounders of last year's class?
Not to say the expectation should be to find starting tackles in the 5th every year. But we have 10 picks, 4 of them in the top 65. We're getting more linemen through the draft.
If this team had any talent at all at Tackle Braxton Jones would not have played every play last year at LT. He was not good and the offense had to scheme around him.
You push Braxton back into them.
Same way you stopped the bears last year. Exploit the terrible line, maintain gap discipline, force fields to pass the ball.
Box will always be stacked to defend Fields + Bijan on the ground. That means Moore/Kmet/Mooney/Claypool should have a favorable matchup.
Also Bijan's value in the screen game can be used to alleviate pass rush pressure
Many people think Bijan could be really good lined up in the slot as a WR as well as playing as a RB. If that is true, I absolutely get the pick. He would fill two roles for us, where we don't have a slot WR now, while providing a big safety valve for Fields.
Some places where he fits what Poles had said. (Not me debating we should draft him.)
- Adds premium talent, no question blue chip talent.
- Would be BPA.
- Fulfills goal of adding playmakers around Fields.
- We run a scheme which emphasizes the run. Packers took a rb jn the 2nd, SF traded for CMC and have drafted multiple RB high running the same scheme.
- Elite athlete
- Elite culture guy
- full 3 down back who can do it all and take pressure off Fields.
- Elite pass catcher out of the backfield.
He can line up in the slot and outside! He is one of the best receivers in the draft period.
Not to mention he has a personal relationship with Fields through their agent and some other shared endorsments.
I guess I’ll believe it when I see it… but, I wouldn’t be furious with this pick. Bears obviously have big needs but when every scout is saying this guy is the best RB prospect since Saqoun, and the Bears had the top rushing offense last year but lost Monty, it does make some sense.
I’d hope they’d trade to 11/12 and get him there though and not 9 (more picks).
I think he is an amazing RB prospect, and if it was 10 years ago, I would be pissed if we didn't get him. But the days of relying on one big back is gone. He gets hurt, and we have to change our game plan in the backfield because Herbert is not the same. You want interchangeable now.
I hear you and get not taking him (I don’t think we should at 9), but I think the same can be said about any stud who gets injured (i.e. having to change the game plan). I’m personally rooting for OL to better protect Fields.
It's funny how Bears fans were ready to back up the Brinks truck to bring Saquan here when we thought he was going to be a free agent, only to scoff at the idea of drafting a Saquan 2.0 in the draft.
We had/ have plenty of cap room and other free agent options werent great. We only have 1 1st round pick. Im not against drafting a rb in the 1st, we just have way too many holes to fix.
I’d rather we spend the cap room, we are 38 mil under. A first round pick is more of an asset than the money we would spend to acquire Saquan, period. One of these things is not like the other, despite you feeling like they are equivocal.
I get that, but I think the number 9 pick going to a more premium position and using some of the shitload of cap space to a rb would be more prudent.
But the more I watch of Bijan, the more ok I'd be with taking him.
No, he didn't. He confirmed what his dad said, he just downplayed it.
"My dad took it a little far. So it wasn't that I thought the Bears were gonna draft me, but I was told that if they drafted a quarterback that I would be the quarterback that they drafted," Mahomes told reporters in Arizona ahead of the Super Bowl.
The 9ers had a very good shot of making it in this year if Purdy doesn't get injured, and I doubt you'd find many 9ers fans complaining about McCaffrey's contribution to their offense this year despite his high price tag. Bijan could have McCaffrey-esque dual threat production...he's **that** talented.
I agree that the general trend is that the RB role in general has lost value, but there's always exceptions. An elite level RB paired up with Fields would give defenses absolute nightmares.
The irony of this comment is that CMC, despite being one of the better players to play the position, is not one of these exceptions. Carolina won 11 (and he only rushed for 435 his rookie year), 7, 5, 5, and 5 games with CMC. He's actually a player that serves as an argument against taking RB, even one as talented as Bijan, at 9; having elite level production from the RB position does not often translate to wins. The one back that has proven to be the exception in recent years is Derrick Henry, and well he quite literally is built different.
I'm not even a Bears fan, not sure why reddit recommended this sub, so I don't really have any skin in the game, but Bijan could live up to the hype and have CMC-esque production and still not make the Bears a better team.
Neither Carolina nor the Titans had an elite QB paired with them. If you're a team looking to add playmakers, it seems kind of insane that you would look at 1800 yards of total offense and say 'nah, we're good'.
Part of the issue with the elite top-10 prospects like Saquon and CMC is that they go to teams that aren't very good. The good teams end up finding backs much later because they have to (or trade for them like the 9ers did). The last time we've seen a top-10 QB paired with a top-10 RB was Wilson and Lynch. It's true that a great RB won't single-handedly change the fortunes of a team, but you could say the same for any positional playmaker outside of QB.
Bijan is arguably the best RB prospect of the last 10 years. If a team is looking to add playmakers to their offense, he should be near the top of any team's board. Especially this year where there's no clear WR#1 and the TE class is saturated.
The 9ers were superbowl contenders before they added cmc though. Obviously he’s incredible, but he’s not the primary reason why they are a very good team.
I was against Bijan until today. Actually took time to watch his highlights and read into him. Im all for it. Run that high powered offense. He’s so versatile. I don’t think we could go wrong with this pick.
He is a perfect piece in a modern NFL offense with an athletic QB like Justin Fields.
People see "RB" and they get dismissive. He's more of a do anything guy.
He is a really good pass catcher but texas coaching staff didn't fully tap into his talents in that regard. Dude is a Christian McCaffrey level Swiss army knife in my opinion and he is the second best prospect behind Carter.
He’s an elite RB1 which next to Fields would be so hard to stop. Opens up PA/Screens more, and an easy safety blanket because while we still need to improve the OL, Fields needs to get the ball out quicker.
Man the more I think about it the more I want it to happen lol Bears are known for their great runningbacks and linebackers (meatball take I know but it just feels right).
At the end of the day this is another weapon for JF1. Bengals still don’t have a great line after so many people clowned them for not taking Sewell instead of Chase yet they still went to the Super Bowl and continue to be a powerhouse in the AFC. The short yard passing game would go crazy with Bijan.
Either way I think this shows that we have a lot of good options at 9 still after trading out if 1 so we really can’t go wrong with anyone we pick. I just want to get it over with already.
If he's the stud offensive skilled player in the draft who can line up anywhere and be a matchup nightmare - I would find it hard to dislike this pick.
If he ends up being the pass catcher he is being touted as - you can do a lot of things with him in the modern NFL if you are creative.
Since 1966 the Bears are known for being mostly irrelevant with just 11 first place division finishes in those 56 years and just 2 championship appearances and 1 championship. Heck there is only 5 conference championship game appearances in that time frame.
I picked 1966 because that was the year we drafted 2 HoF in the first round that played LB and RB.
Maybe just maybe its time for this this to stop living in the past which was not all that great to begin with?
Just saying the 1 time the Bears were the leader in passing innovation they won 4 championships. Its kind of freaking sad that a franchise that is over 100 years old still has a player that played 80 years ago 2nd on its all time passing yards list and comfortable at that. Or that Justin Fields in just his 3rd season should be in the top 10 all time.
I mean yea sure I think that’s fair to say rn. But I don’t think we need him to be. He’s like twice the athlete burrow is and we just need him to be like 75 percent of the passer Burrow is.
If there’s any year to take a RB in the top 10, it’s this year. Bijan next to Fields will do more for this team than reaching for a T/Edge at 9.
He’s the best player in the draft but of course Bears fans are allergic to wanting good players.
If he is a game breaker, it’s a good pick. Get stud Rb on rookie contract for 5 years which is usually Rbs best years. If opposing defenses load up the box to stop him, it’s going to open up the passing lanes for fields, and play action could be killer with a home run threat at Rb
Trading down, getting more draft capital, and taking this guy is my dream draft scenario. People say Fields needs help? Well here is a Texas sized serving of help.
Parlaying that #1 pick into Moore and Robinson plus a couple picks farther down would be a historically great move if both those guys pan out like they are predicted to. A true number one receiver and a potential all league running back… it wouldn’t make up for 2017 Pace whiffing on Mahomes/Trubisky, but it’d be a first step toward recovery, emotionally. Imagine the double headed beast Fields and Bijan would be coming out of the backfield in a league that regularly spreads out and puts nickel packages on the field on 1st down, plus he can hold his own split into the slot…
Do you want a starter or a generational talent? You can find a starter at nine, there'll be a few available. A generational talent, though? Bijan is most likely the only player available there with that talent level. That's why I can see him being the pick.
Generational talent? Maybe. Regardless, he’s playing in the wrong decade.
We don’t need the best RB in the league. We need an NFL starter level tackle.
>Regardless, he’s playing in the wrong decade
If he wants to make the most money in the NFL, yes.
If he wants to be a good player, and a focal point of a running offense with a dynamic QB? No, this is the perfect time for a player like that. That's the direction the league has been going.
That's my thought, too. There are good players, and then there are special players. I think it would take a significant amount of evidence for Poles to come to that conclusion. He talks about positional value and builds for the long term. He knows that RB isn't a spot that teams spend a lot of money on or players that have long careers. He's not just going to ignore that cause he has a school girl crush. If they take Bijan, it's because they view him as a player that can be truly special and take our offense to a whole new level. Look at the choice like this; getting a tackle that can maybe be a top 16 tackle for a decade vs getting a RB that could retire as one of the best RBs of this generation. Yeah, it would be nice to get a top 16 tackle. The Bears need it. But there are probably tackles with that kind of potential in the 2nd round. It might take a little more coaching or a year longer to develop but they are there. You only get one shot at special talent.
I like this comment. Bears need a lot of things as many commenters suggest, but very few offer up “talent” as a need.
Bears need talent and I bet that’s where they go with the pick. They aren’t going to shoehorn in an OL if they have Bijan or JSN as elite talent
Probably, if we weren't guaranteed that he would shred his knee. But I also wouldn't put Bijan on that level. Saquon was *different* on a physical level. His acceleration, top speed, and agility were all elite. Bijan is a good football player and can do everything at a fairly high level, but he's just a good but unspectacular athlete by NFL RB standards. He doesn't have that crazy burst, the ankle-breaking elusiveness, or the 5th gear.
I’m actually not a bears fan but I come in peace. This popped up on my feed as recommended for some reason, and I am very intrigued. I’m going to trust OP and say this on draft night and make my friends think I’m either a genius or and idiot.
I dont really care if it's not the position we need to fill. He's the best rb prospect since saquon, and he'd make our offense really hard to plan for. RPO's all day; Bijan or justin, Moore or Mooney. There's plenty of o line to get later anyway. I'd be fine to trade back till mid 1st and if he's there we take him
It's crazy thinking of stopping Fields and Bijan. I mean absolutely wet dream, especially now that we have a solid WR core. This is going to be a long few days lol
Clearly that scout knows your Dad would tell you and you would go on Reddit to spread that disinformation so another team trades 3 1st round picks to the Bears to get Bijan
Yeah? Well my best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw Ryan Poles at 31 Flavors last night and he said he’s drafting Paris Johnson Jr. I guess he’s pretty serious.
Are area scouts made aware of picks before hand? That would seem a massive leak risk. Think only the Gm asst gm head coach and maybe a couple other guys know
Bijan is going 8th or 9th. No way he slips past the Bears. I agree the bears need OL help but is a tackle that projects to be a guard or a tackle that has a lot of questions the answer at 9? I wish there were more “sure things” at tackle in this draft. Bijan is a sure thing as sure things go. I could see it happening even if the bears really really need help at OL and DL. What will be interesting is what happens if carter and Bijan are there at 9. That choice could make or break Poles.
After watching a few of Bijan's pre-draft interviews he would be an awesome pickup not just for the Bears but for the city itself. As long as the Bears still address the O and D line in the draft and free agency (and shore up a few spots in the secondary) I'm totally on board the Bijan train.
There’s an argument to be made that any offensive weapon for Fields is a position of need. If he’s the pass catcher he’s hyped up to be, he’ll be a top 10 RB in the league year one.
This draft is also pretty deep OL wise when it comes to day 2 guys. (Edit: even if they go OL at 9, it’s not outside the realm of possibility they do it again in the 2nd round. We saw last year they aren’t above that) Poles seems like a best player available guy. He’s quite possibly the best player in the draft.
It’s obviously not very likely, but not as farfetched as you think.
My wife’s boyfriend a lead in the front office said we getting carter and will Anderson and might even trade up to get young as a back up…. Source is medium solid.
Should we hold him accountable and ban this meatball if he's wrong? Reply "Bijan" for no, "Meatball" for yes.
My dad works at Nintendo and said we’re drafting Wario
Damn, I was hoping for Waluigi
Waluigi simply does not have the build to play the 3-tech in an Eberflus defense. Give me Wario.
Found the casual fan who doesnt know shit. Wario is obviously a guard [look at that arm length!](https://static.miraheze.org/atrociousgameplaywiki/a/af/WarioSM64DS.png)
Lol. This sub is great.
Yes, good stuff y’all!
Wario is a great fit sure but there are stamina issues there and some character issues.
I hope he gets to the Pro-Bowl on his rookie contract, because no way is Wario's second contract gonna be cheap.
Koopa Troopa is the sleeper.
No it’s Koopa Paratroopa, specifically the Red shelled one
We should go with one of the Hammer Bros
How are you just going to leave bowser on the board like that? I don't think his kid, bowser jr., is as much of a distraction as the media is making it out to be.
100% the pick Pure destruction on the interior
I hear he has 7 other kids he's not acknowledging though.......
Water we dune bapa
But how long are his arms???
“Imma Wario, imma gonna win”
Dry bones' durability is unmatched. He's the pick
Kid always gets back up
Wario falls down too much.
Waaaaaaaah!

Huge swing in Vegas as Wario becomes the odds-on favorite to the Bears at 9.
Commenting and saving for the memes if OP is right.
Wouldn't be the first time someone with connections was dead nuts right
I was there when the prophet [spoke](https://www.reddit.com/r/CHIBears/comments/11nvntg/i_heard_through_the_grapevine_were_getting_some/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).

fuck i remember that post hahaha
And then he backed out later that day, but he turned out to be right
Only the real messiah would deny he’s the real messiah.
What? He didn't back out... That guy was right on right day...
Before the news broke, he posted a followup saying his source had recanted.
Just like in the matrix. He was told what he needed to hear. He is the one.
He could absolutely have the inside info, and its because the Bears are telling different people different things to hide their true intentions.
dead right would have sufficed, you didnt need to show us your nuts
Imma piggy back and comment to be apart of history if he’s right and ready to troll if wrong
Okay, OPSurelyDelivers, I'll play your little game. May the gods' gaze rest lightly upon your soul.
If he goes before us, OP needs a pass. If not, I’ll prepare the funeral procession
This is Shakespearean levels of drama. His account is 10 years old.
As an older account as well, we usually don’t play games. We serve wisdom.
This made me laugh so hard idk why
Bringing the heat. 10 year account daring us to ban him if he's wrong. Love it. What do we do if he goes #8 to Atlanta? Is the ban void?
I would give him a ban pass if Bijan is gone prior to our pick. Can’t take him if he isn’t available.
Agreed. He's only subject to punishment if Bijan is on the board when we pick.
No matter if Will Anderson and Carter fall to 9, if Bijan is on the board and we pass, he gone
But what if he’s lying and his dad actually works for the Falcons who are planning to take him?
Could have stayed at 1. Guaranteed to get Bijan then 🤣
If Bijan goes before 9 we will not ban him.
Only fair
Yea, I would void it. Bijan is worth a top 10 pick.
What if he is on the board but we trade down?
I'd call that a ban.
If we trade down BEFORE we're on the clock: void If we trade down with Bijan on board AND we're on the clock: Ban seems fair
I don't think you ban him 100 percent. Just because the Bears want to draft Bijan (if OP is right) doesn't mean they don't think they can trade down and still get him. I say his account is safe if the Bears end up picking Bijan. If that is at #15 after a trade back that's just good draft capital management
What a call
Get his ass outta here!!! Seriously, from what I have seen in the draft, he could be the best player available at our spot. I know we have a ton of needs, but I don’t want to reach for anyone either
Would it count if we take someone else at #9 but trade back into the first for him?
If he's on the board for 9 or bears first pick (if we trade up) then ban, unless we take him with a later pick
Alright dude, got 11 bucks in bonus bets, fuck it I'll ride with ya. +1500. Pays $176, I'll donate it to fortes charity if it comes in.
Bears first pick RB +2200
weird to me that the odds on ANY RB pays better than on a specific RB. I don't understand odds apparently
Good call.
I put $20 on Bijan at 9 then saw this post and put $20 on Bears first pick to be RB. YOLO!
This is what I came for. Which Sportsbook

I cannot trust a man who frequently comments in Barstoolboners.

Best laugh I've had in awhile. Tried to explain to the roommate, no dice.
I don't trust anyone who thinks an area scout knows who Ryan Poles will draft or anyone that thinks Ryan Poles will draft a running back in round 1.
Lmaooooo
OP gets a pass if he’s drafted before us.
As much as I would dislike this, I am not sure how you defend Bijan and Fields
And Khalil Herbert and foreman as your rb 2 and 3 jesus
That makes it better because there's no reason he'd have to get broken down and be the only work horse.
Bijan is also a talented Wr, you could do some fun stuff with two RB sets, motion him out to the slot and shit
By taking advantage of the fact that don't have an offensive line?
Don’t really want Bijan, but the run blocking was good last year, wouldn’t really affect his production
Poles grabbed another solid guard in Nate Davis and I trust his ability to find OL talent outside of the first round. Also Doug Kramer who was hurt last season could be something I still want an edge rusher though
"Solid" as long as you think the bears offensive line last year of poor pass blockers and good run blockers is solid Dude has been a bottom 1/3 pass blocker for 80% of his career.

They actually are good at run blocking though…
I hear Bijan can play the entire O-line by himself
I heard Bijan was raised by ninjas and trained to play football by Chuck Norris, himself!
Stack the box not having to worry about the pass as much because the oline cant pass block
Rush 4
They blitz our offensive line that still needs help
Just blow past the oline like last year
You push Braxton back into them. Same way you stopped the bears last year. Exploit the terrible line, maintain gap discipline, force fields to pass the ball.
I just watched Bijan hype videos after this comment and I'm all in baby. I was completely against the idea not even a few hours ago
You walk right through the turnstile that would be the Bears' offensive line, every down.
Fields/BRob/DJM would easily be our best offense since Cutler/Forte/BMarsh, with a very good chance to be better
Box will always be stacked to defend Fields + Bijan on the ground. That means Moore/Kmet/Mooney/Claypool should have a favorable matchup. Also Bijan's value in the screen game can be used to alleviate pass rush pressure

He might not drop past Philly at 10. With so many holes, I doubt we go RB. Love Bijan tho, I’d be hyped either way.

I hope this is true for no other reason to watch this sub have a meltdown and then slowly come to realize what a good player he is.
Most people here know how good he is…Super Bowl teams don’t have top end RBs tho…the position isn’t as important as it used to be

This isn’t a great argument or example imo. Mccaffrey was the cherry on top. Not the backbone of the team.
If this guy is right then this sub has more NFL insiders then almost all of NFL media
I'm rooting for this to happen
I don’t think I was before but now I am lol
I was against Bijan until today. Actually took time to watch his highlights and read into him. Im all for it. Run that high powered offense. He’s so versatile. I don’t think we could go wrong with this pick.
He is a perfect piece in a modern NFL offense with an athletic QB like Justin Fields. People see "RB" and they get dismissive. He's more of a do anything guy.
As a longhorns fan, this would be a dream come true
Can you imagine him catching passing? If we do pick him, he'll be better than Forte (because his QB is better than any Bears QB Forte played with).
This post conveniently appears after the Will Levi’s post appeared yesterday and changed the gambling landscape for the drafts number one pick….🤔
Except for the fact that Fields is nowhere near the qb that Burrow is
I mean yea sure I think that’s fair to say rn.
Hit on a RT and C in the 2nd round and our Offense could be really special for the next few years Our DLine is going to be rough tho
I’m here for it
Yeah? Well my dad’s a pretty big wheel down at the cracker factory
Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know.
I would not be surprised at all. If you could get Saquon at #9, would you? You can always get really good players but that dude is the only elite.
>Regardless, he’s playing in the wrong decade If he wants to make the most money in the NFL, yes.
!remindme monday
I’m actually not a bears fan but I come in peace. This popped up on my feed as recommended for some reason, and I am very intrigued. I’m going to trust OP and say this on draft night and make my friends think I’m either a genius or and idiot.
Give him a unique flair if he’s wrong. Something like “Cade McNown’s Parking Valet” or “Javon Wims’ Hands”.
Guess he's safe
u/OPSurelyDelivers i honestly think you were correct here. He was picked 8th and we traded back after.
Can still ban me if they want but I stand by that being the plan. Traded back once Bijan was no longer available! I’m happy with Wright tho personally
So…is he banned?
Later OP
I dont really care if it's not the position we need to fill. He's the best rb prospect since saquon, and he'd make our offense really hard to plan for. RPO's all day; Bijan or justin, Moore or Mooney. There's plenty of o line to get later anyway. I'd be fine to trade back till mid 1st and if he's there we take him
It's crazy thinking of stopping Fields and Bijan. I mean absolutely wet dream, especially now that we have a solid WR core. This is going to be a long few days lol
Bijan this year and next year Marvin Harrison Jr 🤑
I’m gonna cream if it happens
Please no
#BAN THIS MAN
Look at his right arm where the defender is trying grab him. See where the defender is stretching his skin with his middle finger….I bet that hurts
The grapevine strikes again 😂
I am a bears scout we are drafting Michael jordan you heard it here first
Clearly that scout knows your Dad would tell you and you would go on Reddit to spread that disinformation so another team trades 3 1st round picks to the Bears to get Bijan
Does anyone else remember a post just like this about Trubisky before that draft?
Guess we'll never know...
I like meat balls, especially the Swedish ones why does meat balls have to be no?
Bijan, Bijan, Bijan?
Are area scouts made aware of picks before hand? That would seem a massive leak risk. Think only the Gm asst gm head coach and maybe a couple other guys know
There are also degrees to this. Really liking the guy doesn't mean they won't ultimately pick another guy they really like.
id like some protection for fields but we have no DL so idk taking an rb........In Poles We Trust <3
Not sure if this is a good move as a fan, ousting insider intel for fake internet points. But maybe there's merit
That would be awesome. Nothing opens up the passing game like a great running game.
He better be Walter Payton reincarnated if we take him over a position of need.
I read this twice before I laughed.
