Idk why they made this a thing. Previously they did rotations of random circles on the big map for resurgence, then brought back a similar idea on urzikstan. The MWII era of CoD was just odd all around
I feel like they 100% intended DMZ to be the "next big thing" and realized that warzone had eclipsed any other massive BR style game out there, and swung the design to fit that style instead.
They 1,000% thought DMZ was the next golden goose. IW stubbornly clung to it in the face of failure for far too long and it damaged the overall WZ brand significantly. We’re still not back to WZ1 levels of game design.
I actually wouldn’t mind reusing some big map areas as a dedicated resurgence map. Would save resources and give us more options. Obviously it should be a GOOD area though
Or at least make more areas of the big map into 6v6 maps for multiplayer. They had High Rise and Terminal in Al Mazrah and didn’t make them into MP maps until MW3.
Yeah. I don’t know why they don’t do that more often. Just add either walls or invisible barriers, and cull the map so it doesn’t load the HD/4K graphics for areas you’re never gonna go to. It’s not really that hard.
Though it was funny for Broadcast on MW 2019, you can pretty easily get pretty far out of the map and back to Verdansk, lol.
i thought military base when it was in the resurgence playlist was alright. i didnt like any of the other areas tho. too many of the military base ones had games ending on either hill with the long fences that got old quick but other than that the gameplay in that area seemed solid to me.
side note: i dont think they have updated any areas of the big map since release... atleast verdansk got updates.. i wish the big map got poi updates but BR is just an afterthought for this company. honestly seems like cod is an afterthought entirely for them..

I know right? I really don't understand why they can't leave the map in the playlist? Have Al mazrah one week ,then Urzikstan the other, or something like that. Or leave Al Mazrah only for Plunder or something. Plunder was amazing there, It was my favourite mode in MWII, now I've played it probably 10 times since November. Urzikstan isn't as fun for Plunder
it isn't. That's be like 1/4th of my current CoD install which includes MWIII MP and Warzone. Most disk space is probably occupied by all the cosmetics for guns and operators, a big map is probably around 10gb if anything.
Edit: Adding DMZ/Warzone 2022 would add 22GB in total. Not sure what it all includes (Ashika as well for example?), but it definitely shows that Al Mazrah is less than that.
only in private match sadly, but you can play with friends, can't add bots. just look up ashika island glitch private match. I used it to explore the map and relieve some old dmz memories one last time.
the point is that it's still in the files even without having DMZ installed. i wouldn't doubt if al mazrah is still in there bloating the MW3 and WZ3 file size for no reason other than laziness.
Luhmao, they literally can't remove maps, can they? Fun fact, a mod for MW19 just came out that enables Caldera, Rebirth, and Fortune's Keep in private matches.
the problem with resurgence using regions of the big map is lack of buy stations. youre basically stuck with ground loot til public load out, then those get camped when they do drop.
caldera big map resurgence was unplayable at first because the vanguard ground loot guns were miserably bad at the time and your free load out was in the wide open getting camped too and thered be 1-2 buy stations on the map.
I really dislike it personally. Every time it's the same awful end circles with 12 teams left alive, people on every rooftop. Water rats. Shit just doesn't play well at all in the end game
I get that. The circle pulls are conducive to camping. I feel the same about urzikstan. They kind of updated it but before the circle ended 98% at old town/city which is snipe camp HQ
> The circle pulls are conducive to camping.
In what way? The circle pulls often force people out of camping positions because your entire building is out of zone. Catching late rotators is just free kills.
Lobbies staying healthy is the best part of Vondel. It means higher kill potential. Water, I used to agree on. I hated water rats, but honestly, it doesn't happen that often to me anymore that I encounter and die to a water rat, and when I do, it's because I put myself in a bad situation. Water on Vondel is, IMO, better than water on every other map. Water is cringe on Rebirth, Urzikstan, and Fortune's Keep. Water on Vondel I actually don't mind anymore because the alternative is flat ground and tunnels between buildings, which would be even worse with the current map design. That being said, the water by Floating District can go and University and Castle are both ass for POIs. The rest of Vondel is goated.
Same i love rotation resurgence. It would be dope
If they did rotation BR with al mazrah , Urzik, verdansk 🤷🏾‍♂️.
Hell the game takes up my entire HDD might as well
Who can forget this absolute madness? They advertised it super heavy and we were all hyped for it, we all expected some new redesigned map of the fortress, with new POI's, new routes etc... Yet we got just the whole BR Map with radiation everywhere apart from the fortress, there were rarely any contracts and I remember matches when most of them were inside the radiation. I think you used to drop inside the radiation too in the beginning days of the map. The only difference was the graffiti hahah.
Although I'm not gonna lie - I was also hyped for that map. And yeah, it was advertised for longer than it was available.
I miss Al Mazrah though, the map wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Yes MWII movement was slow but Al Mazrah is a pretty good map, has some amazing POI's , I'd say it's better than Urzikstan. Massive Resurgence was also pretty fun. In my opinion I don't see the issue with having Al Mazrah in playlist, the map with MWIII movement will be interesting to try out. Graphic wise it was also better, way more crisp and HD compared to the blurry and cloudy mess that is Urzikstan. Let alone with the weird buildings where you need to walk around for hours to find the stairs going to the upper floors
I want this map to come back but only for the mode they had were you had the big truck you could upgrade. Some of the most fun in Warzone I’ve had with the homies in a long time
It was what Resurgence Players Deserved...trash.
Now you have Raven sucking Resurgence players dick by giving them Ranked Play instead of giving the big map Ranked Play. Fuck Raven for that shit.
Acti: We're not that lazy
Also Acti: Literally uses Ring 4 of BR with Resurgence sprinkled on top (they didn't even bother to crop the minimap to the playable area)
I liked it because it added some variety to the game. I wish they would just do random POIs on the big map. It couldn't be that hard to set up. It would really test skill more than camping tower for 40 minutes. They seriously are so lazy with this game.
One guy suggested this map to come back đź’€
I think they fucked up what they originally planned and had to pull this together last minute.
I said this the whole time I was playing it
What do you think they planned
your cake day!
![gif](giphy|dQ3nlXQR3zXFK)
That’s what definitely happened. The signs all there
they really thought they had the next rebirth island with this
XD
Though it was fun. Would be an absolute bloodbath now with the KAR.
I also enjoyed it

It was cool on verdansk how they lined up more
Yeah. I don’t know why they don’t do that more often. Just add either walls or invisible barriers, and cull the map so it doesn’t load the HD/4K graphics for areas you’re never gonna go to. Well Urzikstan gets changes to power plant tomorrow but yeah wish they did more and more consistent map updates
I loved resurgence on Orlov military base
don't dorget it had absolutely no loot. this setting sums up everything that was terrible about wz2 perfectly. yikes. trigger warning please.
I want to try Al Maz with the new movement.

Disk space, Al Mazrah is probably 30 gigs or more
it isn't. That's be like 1/4th of my current CoD install which includes MWIII MP and Warzone. You have it already downloaded. It’s available in DMZ to play.
fun fact: ashika is still playable with glitches, they never bothered removing it from the files.
Publicly? It’s also available in DMZ. I wanna play it in Resurgence because it’s my favourite map.
only in private match sadly, but you can play with friends, can't add bots. just look up ashika island glitch private match. I used it to explore the map and relieve some old dmz memories one last time.
Isn’t it still available in DMZ thought?

Zone rotations were so weird too
Dumb ass mini game map
This shit prolly better than urzikstan resurgence
Now you reminded me that Urzikstan resurgence is gone since ages lmfao. I even forgot about the small regions used for Resurgence
Imo it fucking sucked, there was like one spot to land and everyone landed there
the problem with resurgence using regions of the big map is lack of buy stations. youre basically stuck with ground loot til public load out, then those get camped when they do drop. caldera big map resurgence was unplayable at first because the vanguard ground loot guns were miserably bad at the time and your free load out was in the wide open getting camped too and thered be 1-2 buy stations on the map.
Plunder needs map rotation. Urzikstan blows
Al Mazrah was the best map for Plunder. POI's worked so well and were so distinct. Urzikstan is super boring in my opinion
Preach!! The fortress was so good for gun fights
Rebirth was the only plunder map I actually played to have fun instead of just leveling up weapons.Â
Yes I remember this from the post yesterday about it.
That shit sucked so bad. Kinda how a feel about vondell currently
Vondel isn’t that bad. It’s a decent map
I really dislike it personally. Every time it's the same awful end circles with 12 teams left alive, people on every rooftop. Water rats. Shit just doesn't play well at all in the end game

Yea I don't love urzikstan either. Dont play much br these. Actually havnt even played much cod on season 4 at all.
during verdansk they learned and made it so games wouldnt end in downtown... idk why so many lobbies end downtown now on urzikstan...
> The circle pulls are conducive to camping. In what way? The circle pulls often force people out of camping positions because your entire building is out of zone. Catching late rotators is just free kills.

it has some of the best places and aesthetics, but the abundance of water and town houses makes it a bad map in comparison.
Nah Vondel is a Top Tier Map
Top tier trash
Vondel is/was fantastic.
I honestly didn't mind it at all haha
I remember it was bugged for the first week or so to always end at the same spot which made it even more dull than it could be
WZ2 / MWII year was more forgettable than Vanguard’s
![gif](giphy|iNRdk1egCWr3nNCRSc|downsized)
wAtEr pLaY
I didn’t mind it 👀 ![gif](giphy|b63RIRklhMjKrEjeJ0|downsized)
this would have been dope if there were no water zones and had like 10-15 more players
This was chaotically fun. The average CODer wants the same thing in different shades. Al Mazra rotation resurgence was LIT
The average COD player gets upset at a map rotation because it messes up their “flow”. Same map over and over again is boring
Same i love rotation resurgence. It would be dope If they did rotation BR with al mazrah , Urzik, verdansk 🤷🏾‍♂️. Hell the game takes up my entire HDD might as well
Well the rotation is planned ahead with a set schedule that changes every Thursday.
🤓🤓🤓

Now we're going to get this again with the power station area.
yet, it's the best dark aether rift in zombies.... so good!
About as bad as the Resurgence rotation on the current BR map
It looks like Prison in Verdansk without sea :)
I must have blocked this out of my brain. I don’t Remember this in the slightest
As bad as it was, I had a little fun with it. Would hate to see it come back though! Waste of a fuckin update!
I want this map to come back but only for the mode they had were you had the big truck you could upgrade. Some of the most fun in Warzone I’ve had with the homies in a long time
AL BAGRA
It was what Resurgence Players Deserved...trash. Now you have Raven sucking Resurgence players dick by giving them Ranked Play instead of giving the big map Ranked Play. Fuck Raven for that shit.
Spitting facts, TikTok Timmies who can't play large-scale BR games are seething right now.
I loved the small resurgence modes on the big map.
I’ll never forget how they removed it after 2 weeks without saying a word LOL
Acti: We're not that lazy Also Acti: Literally uses Ring 4 of BR with Resurgence sprinkled on top (they didn't even bother to crop the minimap to the playable area)
"we want rebirth back" "we got rebirth at home"
I loved it. I averaged like 6-7 wins a night on this map. Something about it just worked for me.
I actually had fun playing this. But I’m glad it was short lived.
The update wasn't particularly lazy, the marketing just hyped it up too much.
The rocket league rip off game was even worse.
Al Ballsra
i dont even remember this map lol
Diabolical map
Must be going mad but I have zero memory of this in Resurgence. I remember it as a MP map which was quite fun.
I liked it because it added some variety to the game. I wish they would just do random POIs on the big map. It couldn't be that hard to set up. It would really test skill more than camping tower for 40 minutes. They seriously are so lazy with this game.
