Just got mine a week and a half ago. I love that little fucker. Super nice stock sound system too, overall I'm impressed and it's way better than my old nissan rogue

HeftySupport2067

Got the same 1.5 125hp manual transmission last Thursday! Its also my first new car!   May it last you million km.

GundjiM

Congratulations! May it last you a long time as well and enjoy every moment driving it!

Animaul187

I thought they were all 2.0L for ICE, or is that just in the US?

GundjiM

Just the US and Australia I think. In Europe its 1.5l. Its basically the same engine with cut cylinder. It has some 44hp less, but better fuel efficency though.

Same_Roll_4709

I'm in South Africa. I have a 2.0l version. They discontinued the manual in 22 though. Now it's just the CVT and the 1.8l hybrid

osvaldocruz25

mmmmmhhh, honestly take that over the US version in a heartbeat. i pray she lasts you a long time 🙏🏽

FenceJumperSRB

Congratulations. I bought 1.5l corrola two months ago at the same dealership in the Luna configuration, and I think I made mistake not going for Sol. But it's good either way. Hope she serves you well.

GundjiM

Thx, hope yours serve you well too. Yeah I agree, I think it's good configuration either way. Only base Terra seems unrefined.

Spare-Shirt24

She's a beauty! I love that color!

GundjiM

Yeah this color suits this car especially with the tinted back windows as with this configuration.

lolitstrain21

Nice to see that they still make manuals for other countries. Wish they still made regular manual Corollas in the states

Animaul187

In Europe, 80% of cars sold have manual transmissions. In the U.S., it's only 1%. Only around 18% of American drivers can handle a manual transmission, according to U.S. News and World Report.

genesiss23

It's no longer 80% manual in Europe. The past few years has seen the emergence of automatic as preferred. In 2022, 34% of new vehicles were manual. https://www.motor1.com/news/694709/manual-transmissions-rarity-industry-world/

Animaul187

Yeah you’re right, that was the first hit on google but here’s a more accurate one: “As of the first half of 2023, 32% of new cars sold in Europe had manual transmissions, down from 89–95% in 2000. In the UK, a CarWow survey in October 2022 found that less than a third of new cars in dealerships had manual gearboxes.”

GundjiM

Yeah although this seems like the last days of the manuals unfortunately, hybrids are dominating in toyota dealership and with them also cvt transmission. I will enjoy this car to the fullest and when the time comes for change we will see where the market will go, towards hybrids, electric or maybe the last hurrah of the ICE.
