Super unlikely. Anyone who was here through covid is very aware of how devastating the lack of tourism was to the economy and the lives of people who are in the more grey economy. People were hurting very badly, Bangkok became almost a ghost town, with so many people going home, mostly to the north. There were also pretty rad anti-govt protests. So, all of that is to say that the government would be pretty crazy to act in ANY way that might damage the return of tourists. I don't think weed will overcome Thailand's natural beauty and people, or the sex trade, as main tourism drivers, but, on the other hand, it helps.. So, there are going to be some right-wing members of the government who are going to rail against weed, and post incendiary pics of some kid with a bong, but, in the end, it would be so self-destructive to criminalize weed. That would be the Thailand story globally, and would do damage to both Thailand's image and the tourism business. Very very unlikely, imo

ponghahaha

It's hard to be criminalized once all the related businesses have already taken root here, but it's not impossible.

More restriction might be, I don't think cannabis will be categorized as narcotics anymore

No

They may or may not criminalize it, though I find that unlikely. However, I am pretty sure nothing will change in July/August as the process take a little bit of time. I guess some step will be taken near the end of the year then early-mid of next year we might finally have a real federal law on these stuff.

No can’t see it being re criminalised but depending who wins the election maybe tighter regulations

thepainkille

most restaurants on tourist areas let you smoke

Kickingmonks

Not most, not in bangkok. You can almost always find one that does allow in tourist areas though
