why you'd ever get a RSQ3 over an RS3 (or most cars for that matter) I have genuinely no idea.
Worst yet he doesn't even have an RS6 avant on his list of RS audis...
ÂŁ35k will get you a well specced, FL W205 C43. Thisâll leave you with ÂŁ10k change.
With it being a 43 variant, it does not come with the running costs of the hand built engines. I believe services are almost in line with the non-AMG models, at a main dealer.
Iâm also a sucker for a Cayman. Although, all of the cars listed are completely different to one another. I realise youâve said you want something with power and sound, but youâve mentioned all different types of models. You must have a preference? Coupe, SUV, saloon, 2 seater sports car etc?
Buy what you want and donât care what people think. If you pull up in a Ferrari you canât be worried about someone pulling up in lane 2 in a Veyron. Youâd be comparing yachts next. The RS3 is great.
Newer cars suck - fake engine noises in the cabin, electric power steering (numb as fuck), gimmicks galore for the yuppie market.
Get something older, something honest, with hydraulic steering.
I would pick E92 BMW M3 (V8 engine)
What about a 981 Cayman S? Modern enough but you still get a naturally aspirated flat 6 engine.
Also any dealer telling you that you canât test drive an RS model is a moron that isnât worth your time. At the age of 29, BMW were more than happy for me to test drive both an M4 and an M5.
This was my criteria and budget nine months ago.
I considered the C63, V8 Vantage 4.7, 911 (early 991), Cayman and V8 Mustang. (RS Audis and BMW Ms don't do it for me, so weren't on the shortlist.)
I ended up buying a 2020 F-Type 5.0 V8.
Why...? They sound brutal, are fantastic fun to drive and the servicing costs are reasonable. To my eyes, they also look absolutely superb. Very happy with it - they're a peach of a car and shouldn't be overlooked.
S58 rocks but for those wanna tune and build demons they tend to go b58 , somehow more reliable eg - https://youtu.be/Lh4HHrzvwZY?si=2i_V6ysZicYRNqj5 , ik thatâs overkill but I saw a old gen stage 1 240i destroy a new gen rs3 irl at a car meet my jaw dropped
Not sure why you couldnât test drive an RS. I test drove my RS6 with an approved Audi. Unless this is more of an independent garage thing?
Also I paid around that budget and it does everything so when you do need practicality youâll have it. Though Iâve always been a fan of high performance estate cars. Previous car was a last gen Clio Rs trophy then wanted a âfamily carâ đ
Hyundai i30N for power and noise. Won't beat an RS3 in a straight pull but will sound alot better, will save 10k in your back pocket to tune it aswell.
Could probably get a cayman R for that money. Thatâs what Iâd do if you want to have the best drive for your budget. Or go 997.2 if you need a bit more space. My lumpy mate struggles to drive my cayman so if youâre a big lad sit in it and make sure youâre comfortable otherwise youâll need to go 911.
Youâve listed such different cars though. Out of your options Iâd go i8 because itâs unique and looks great.
Iâm a big Porsche fan but if youâre going for one of the turbo 718s theyâre very disappointing, go for the 718 gts with the 4.0. It still has electric steering which isnât great for feedback, it is precise though, but the engine and chassis is solid.
RS6 avant for that money, you don't need more from a car, it covers everything
Exactly why I got mine đđź
M240i in thundernight purple . F series M2 , Guilia quadrifolio
Came here to say b58⌠x3M40i , m340i etc
Came here to say the Alfa
RSQ3 and the RS5, literally the two worst RS models by a mile lol
Came here to say that, RSQ3 particularly absolute horrible thing.

Like the look of the rsq3, as much as I donât have much preference an estate car would be bottom of the list and dread to think of the maintenance
Whatâs so bad about the 5?
Nothing particularly
Whatâs wrong with the RS5?
Get a Porsche Taycan and make your own brum brum noises

IS F or RC F
Porsche macan gts, quick, drives very nicely for a 4x4, sounds great and still practical
Probably a 997.
3.0L Supra. And if you want more engagement, get the manual. I love mine, great to drive, and always puts a smile on my face.
Anything b58 or f80 m3 tbh . The giulia is a shout and if you wanna spend lots on petrol jags svr not bad idea . X3M !

Just had a few laps around Knockhill today driving an Alpine A110s. What a fantastic car to drive, beautiful to look at and sounds great.
None. Lexus RCF
Newer cars suck - fake engine noises in the cabin, electric power steering (numb as fuck), gimmicks galore for the yuppie market. Get something older, something honest, with hydraulic steering. I would pick E92 BMW M3 (V8 engine)
Objectively the worst looking m3 ever made although the engine is quite nice

30k Cayman and save the rest
This is the way.

Came here to say that a F-Type would be my go to. Assuming I was single and/or had another vehicle for other practical things.
Rs3 and modify maybe
New gen rs3 gets absolutely dogged by the b58s atm
Bit boring though. Why not get a full m car at that money
Could do but value on b58s is crazy. Ecu tune and itâs eating the RS3 , did suggest X3M
Idk how much they are but apart from sound that would be perfect. The s58 is an insane engine but they sound so bad imo

I wouldn't buy any of these, I would get a jaguar F type R
Toyota RAV4 full spec
Dealers wonât allow you to test driveâŚâŚ.never heard that one before, mustnât like the look of you or think youâre a chancer.
Call me boring but id probably get a brand new ford fiesta/focus ST
I'd buy a really nice 2008/9 E class estate and use the rest of the money to make it pretty and keep it running forever.

New Supra?
CLA45 (post 2021, it's right in ÂŁ45k so a bit tricky but seem a few) Just looks so beautiful.
Vxr8. Rare as hens teeth and buckets of fun
45 VW Bora 1.9 TDiâs Or an Alpine A110
Hyundai i30N for power and noise. Won't beat an RS3 in a straight pull but will sound alot better, will save 10k in your back pocket to tune it aswell.
Fast and that doesnât cost an arm and a leg to run/maintain, Tesla Model 3 Performance đ
Lexus LC500 5.0 V8, if you donât need practicality this is *chefâs kiss*

Skoda Octavia and bank the rest
I canât even tell if this is serious is the worrying part
Oh absolutely 100% serious mate. You realise Iâd want the change from the ÂŁ45k to take my family on a holiday right?
surely you'd get more enjoyment watching the number go up in an investment account? i recommend you do that instead.
Yeah but then my family wouldnât get to enjoy a nice holiday
oh no you really were serious
Renault Megane trophy and saving a bunch of money.
RSQ3 higher driving position (less scrapes) and same engine as RS3
