Making lists based around media and entertainment (movies/tv/music). I enjoy it because it allows me to remember all my favourite movies and music, memorize the information about them and make my own fictional versions of the award shows to pick out what I think should have won every year.
I knit, crochet, and spin my own yarn, and have done so for 20+ years. I started very young, after reading about the crafts in books, and my parents got me kits, and I've just kept at it. I also love learning about textiles in general, from weaving to lacemaking to sewing and embroidery. I just love it all.
Bird watching, it can be surprisingly addictive and deeply relaxing. Start with a good pair of binoculars and a bird guide for your area. It encourages patience, observation, and a deeper connection with nature.
Favorite hobby? For me, it's definitely hiking. There's something about being out in nature, exploring new trails, and challenging myself physically that's incredibly fulfilling.
Cooking! I had to figure out how to cook from a very young age since I was often home alone, I watched a lot of PBS cooking shows too. A long while ago I became vegetarian which furthered my interest in cooking and now I’m vegan so I’m basically forced to do it. So it’s been a long time but I genuinely enjoy exploring different cuisines.
I like drawing but I'm better at embroidery. No body believes in me drawing. They tell me to just stuck to what I know. I feel like a boxer being benched telling my coach I have one more fight if I trained but he just throws in the towel saying I just don't got it.
Playing the guitar. It’s really fun to play along with some of my favorite songs and to learn new techniques. I’ve been playing for about 2 & a half years
Used to be gaming. But now it is reading. If not reading then I enjoy playing chess or sudoku or watching series, movies or anime with my partner. Outdoors, it has to be hiking.
My favorite hobby is collecting beach glass, tile, pottery, and cool rocks. My aunt took me to the beach one day and she introduced me to the hobby and ever since I’ve been collecting all sorts of things I find at beaches, lakes, rivers. I think not only I find it fun and entertaining like a scavenger hunt, but it is also very peaceful and calming to me because there’s no rush, you’re with your own thoughts, listening to the water, being surrounded in nature, and not a worry in mind in that moment. Truly it’s my favorite hobby and I hope others can begin this fun activity as well!! :)
Junk collecting, specifically metal. And I don’t mean from junkyards, or antique shops. I mean the stuff you on the ground outside a Walmart, a Costco, or a bank.
I’ve done it all my life, and due to that, I’ve actually managed to make a really mean blunt flail, “chains” and all.
Washing and detailing the outside of my vehicle and what I could on the Inside would have to be mine.
I lived in a 2011 scion tc that I removed the entire back seats out of cuz it was my storage unit, drivers seat was my bed and the passenger was for my lady.
I had expired tags the entire time and no insurance, but I tinted the windows and kept the outside CLEAN AF cuz I figured i don't wanna look like a PoS on the road, maybe cops won't bother me if it looks like I Maintain my car well. Basically lived at 24 hour coin-op car washes in So Cal. Tweaking waxing my car 3-5am
Composing music. Been my favorite ever since I was a choir kid in high school like 10 years ago. In the last two years of choir I got exposed to a wide range of different kinds of choral music and it inspired me to try my hand at doing it myself.
Playing music.
There's just nothing comparable to standing on a stage in front of a crowd, switching your amp to high gain, and coming up with that kick-ass guitar solo on the spot. Not even sex. (And the first may even make the second more likely)
My favorite hobby is collecting. And I collect hobbies. So things went full circle here.
So far have juggling, origami, chess, guitar, singing, journaling, walking with according item for each of them in my physical collection. Planning to keep expanding as I achieve certain milestones in every hobby. Fun stuff.
Making sure animals always have clean drinking water. Not really a hobby ig but I do enjoy doing it when I can.
Interesting. That's cool tho
