I think yung tip not to share expected salary is more of a salary negotiation strategy. The fact na umabot ka sa final interview indicates you’re a strong candidate.

retirementchild

So if ever po ba makuha ko yung role, mahihirapan na po ako makipag-negotiate sa salary?

nepriteletirpen

As much as you can, don't give them first. Ask them how much is the budget. Know this na before pa mabuo yung demand for manpower, meron na yang budget so if they don't say it upfront or the stupid "subject for approval" kuno, then tell them your range wherein the lower range is already your comfortable salary line. Of course, do a market research rin so you know if your asking is possible for the role itself. Gl

moelleux_zone

nepriteletirpen

Oo naman. This opens up flexibility. Pwede mo sabihin in the later stages na nakita mo na yung scope ng role and you want the upper range since you have this and that for that and this.

eatsburrito

Ang downside lang nito if kapag asa google docs or form ung expected salary. Hindi pwede lagyan ng rage. Kaya better to put an amount your comfortable in. Kung hindi nagproceed, they're not for you.

nepriteletirpen

Don't play that game bro. I put zero in it. Either they proceed or not. They'll also call if they are interested anyway.

nobuhok

I go through these lines as the interviewer gets more persistent with asking: 1. I expect to be paid fairly based on my skillset (+location if not in PH) and the market conditions. What is your budget for this role? 2. If you let me know much your budget for this position is, I can give you a number that's possibly within that range. 3. Based on my research, the current fair market rate for this role is around X to Y. Does this align with your budget? 4. I expect to be paid somewhere around X to Y. What is your budget? 5. I'm negotiable, and I think X is a fair number to start at.

Spiritual-Pen-4885

Hi! May I know po ano dapat isagot kapag nagtanong ng previous salaries. Thank you!

nobuhok

I don't disclose past salaries because I expect to be paid based on current fair rates.

Spiritual-Pen-4885

Thank you po!

IceColdPilsen

Ibalik mo yung tanong. Ask mo magkano budget nila. Hahaha

ResolverHorizon

give a range of your salary.. Like upto $$$$.. So if di ka nila afford you won't waste each other's time.. Before the recruitment process pa lang state na yung non-negotiable sayo (eg: WFH schedules, etc).. Each recruiter is given a range of how much salary they can offer and it can be adjusted in the end by how well you performed in the succeeding interviews. If you're one of those na must have employees they will make sure to increase their offer.

tooncake

The sad truth behind this is naghahanap sila ng mababa mag offer ng skills nila yet pasok sa requirement na hinahanap nila. This is VERY common globally, and is like a basic business strat 101 para sa lahat ng kumpanya, kaya flex pag baligtad ang naganap t kumpanya kaagad ang nag offer sayo ng ridiculous amount meaning desperado naman sila ngayon makuha skillset mo wag ka lang mapunta sa ibang rival companies nila.

mamshile

Ang ginagawa ko, before ako magpa interview/mag apply, nireresearch ko muna how much yung salary range nung position and kapag wala talaga ako mahanap, tinatanong ko nalang kung hm budget for the role.

KoreanSamgyupsal

I never ask for the budget. Most of the time it's not the real budget anyway. Know your worth and do your market research. There's no magic to getting a higher salary aside from telling them your value.

Sad-Squash6897

SunMoonEtAl

personally, a negotiation tactic ive used is to say a range higher than what i am actually expecting and/or higher than the industry standard. if they can meet it, then congrats you succeeded agad, but of course, they would try to counter by saying the range of their actual budget. tbh the usual advice of asking "whats your budget first" implies that you dont know your value nor what the industry is offering kaya i rarely follow it anymore.

scoobydo09

since nanjan ka na sa lagay nayan, if ever man na matanggap ka, you can always negotiate pag may job offer na. pero you need to do your research first kung magkano ba market average na salary ng position nayan and try to renegotiate. wala naman problema yan just be honest about it. some employers appreciate yung alam mo kung ano gusto mo and worth mo kesa few months in magreresign ka dahil feeling mo underpaid ka.

benben_ben

Basically, tama ginawa mo sinagot mo tanong nya. For now, prep for the next step. Goodluck!

retirementchild

Thank you for wishing me luck 🥹 Nag-worry lang kasi talaga ako dahil sinet ko rin utak ko na dapat tatanungin ko yung budget for the role

qwerty056789

I don’t drop numbers, but they know I don’t come in cheap. I always counter by, how much are you offering me. They have my resume and I have the credentials to back it up. Don’t drop numbers, always ask how much they’re offering. If it’s too low, or you’re not happy with their offer, negotiate.

retirementchild

This was really my mindset nung interview.

The problem with that is you might be low balling yourself. I’ve dropped numbers when I’m negotiating. But like I said, they know I don’t come in cheap and I’m not afraid to walk out from an offer.

jpngirl19

As an HR tinatanong ko din yan, syempre kailangan ko ng tamang sagot. If pasok sa budget ni company yung asking eh di good.
