I always see people talking about the gorilla but the Cadbury's ad that stuck with me the most is [the eyebrow one](https://youtu.be/IIJD93Z2C_8?si=G1BZb8itneVbXeyc)
Watched a documentary on the best ads ever made, this was in the top ten. Apparently the guy was just a crusty old surfer dude who hadn’t done anything remotely like this in years, absolutely shat himself doing it. They just picked him because he had the right face.
My dad started smoking hamlet to try and reduce from cigarettes. Hamlet cigars bring back so much childhood for me. Also switching to hamlet cigars does not stop you smoking or reduce your smoking, you just smoke cigars as you would cigarettes.
I always remember the one from way back where a guy on the beach puts on a chest wig and runs open armed to a bikini clad lovely running open armed towards him st the shoreline. As they embrace the chest wig sticks to her chest and she departs in disgust. Cue the Hamlet moment.
I loved that one as a kid
The bouncing balls ad. Mainly because I like the song..

HI IM BARRY SCOTT
I can’t remember what the ad was for but it’s made it’s way into my vocabulary it’s Michael Winner advertising something and ‘calm down dear it’s only a commercial’ has made its way into my everyday vocabulary
Another Guinness one, from the mid 90s. It’d probably be considered to be controversial today but at the time for me as a closeted gay teenager growing up in a rough council estate it was brilliant to see. Just watched it again. I’d forgotten just how 90s the haircuts were - https://youtu.be/hieKgQNQpMA?si=BzdVqdl6TF7XsVn9
There’s one I wish I could remember clearly, as no one else seems to so I’m wondering if I dreamt it.
A man is asleep, and an animal, I think a gorilla, comes into the room and messes up his hair section by section, so in the morning he has quite astonishing bed hair. Anyone else remember this one?
There was a wonderful advert for Carling (I think?) that was hundreds of people playing football around the streets and landmarks in Glasgow. It was pretty silly but looking back on it now it was kinda wholesome as a community thing.
That and the damned phone number jingle from the Hastings advert.
I would also like to say the 20mph vs 30mph adverts with the little girl being hit by a car. 'Hit me at 30. Hit me at 40'. Been trying to find the full advert but only found the cut down version. Anyway who finds the full advert which is the one above 30 seconds one and has the adults talking either end please respond.
There was also one about not wearing your seat belt in the back and killing your mum when there was a crash.
As someone who grew up with these I will say they really did ensure I watched my speed and for people stepping out and ensure everyone wears their seat belt (I am a driver now. I was a child then).
They were the Think! Road safety adverts. Honestly would still advise any driver to look up and ensure they're aware of potential impact.
I love that there Guinness advert - Phat Plante, Leftfield.
I also love the Dunlop tyre advert backed by Velvet Underground's Venus on Furs.
Sometimes an advert transcends mere commercialism and is art.
The Harry Enfield ones always stick with my. Hula Hoops r rarnd and they’ll be ararnd for evva. And Smooth and the outside, crunchy on the inside. Armadillo. Also, int milk brilliant.
I remember the [dancing man](https://youtu.be/5Om15TM7t9g?si=DZnIxf1mXfxQuMkX) advert as well....
My favourite is still the [VW car advert](https://youtu.be/5U9I7QrpSkk?si=WfIkxNLGOLpHdWE9) featuring the voice of Richard Burton.
Yes, the gay gym with one guy awkwardly dancing whilst the guy next to him robotically lifted weights. That always turned up in the ad breaks when I was watching Prisoner Cell Block H in the small hours. 1998 or thereabouts.
Advert for cravendale milk. The cows were stalking a man late at night & it was shot like a horror movie "Cravendale tastes so good the cows want it back"
Had a few nightmares over that as a child.
