There's also lots of belly up action happening here, which is a good clue that they are just playing. If it was a fight, your lil calico bb likely wouldn't be laying around with their tummy exposed. Your cats are very cute!
If this was a fight, there would be fur flying and loud vocalization. You can also tell by the state of their tail and how their ears are pointed. If they're forward, it's just play, if it's down against the cats head, it's probably a little more aggression. The fact that Cali is grooming Ukie is a good sign. My cats are currently not getting along, and there have been fights, I've separated them, but on occasion when they are in the same space (I do try to get them back on good terms) my older cat will sometimes groom the younger cat. So I know that while they may be having some issues right now, they still don't HATE each other.
Good luck with your kitties!
I've got a void with an attitude and he's the troublemaker out of the bunch. Even after he's being a little bitch they'll eventually settle down and groom each other and be nice. Even when they act like they hate each other they will secretly miss each other when they're not there
my cat does this to me. attacks me and then gives me kisses. when i try give him kisses and pushes my face away with his litter rakes. he sleeps next to me at night sometimes so i feel like we are on good terms.
My four year old resident cat and my 10 month old cat (got him 6 months ago) play exactly like this, I think it's normal and healthy! They'd be shrieking and yowling if they weren't having fun
The rule of thumb I use is if one or both of them is willingly going belly up and not running away, it's playing. Now, sometimes one might cross a boundary, but they usually figure things out.
This is adorable playing
Your furbabies are super cute! Thanks for sharing. This looks like play.
My ex had three cats. Two hated one another. The male would attack the female and the sounds that came up of their mouths were horrifying. There was always fur flying and sometimes blood. These fights got so nasty and frequent my ex eventually had to give away the male kitty to his sister so he could be a loner cat.

i want this tortico so bad.
2 easily spottable things : - One is not trying to run / hide from the other one - They are taking turns (even the female calico is more defending)

Hahaha "litter rakes"...
i did not make that up but it has stuck with me. however i did come up with toilet dippers (he really likes the toilet)
That's great too
Nah. They are just playing Mortal Kombat, i wouldn't worry until round 3.
Is there a way to tell when one is about to perform a fatality so I can stop it from happening?
You will hear Shang Tsung's voice projected throughout your house. It's unmistakable, don't worry!
FINISH HIM

That's the real way to know if they're playing if there's no loud yowling and hissing, they're just having fun
Play time. Both letting belly nips happen. Both flicking tails. None trying to run
Kitty wrestling. Its all fun.
No ears back, no floofing of tails, no unholy screams of the damned. They're playing.
Harmless kitty fun! I just love watching it! đđ
Youâll know when they actually fight lol
Play time but she's mildly annoyed. I would make sure to play with the orange on a schedule to keep him from being too much
This. Maybe play extra with him and get him a cat wheel. 40+ size to wear him out. He has some energy
Definitely play
1000000% play
They're just playing. Your gray tortie might be a little bit of a drama queen, lol.
She 100% is lol

Healthy play...very cute.
Yes, absolutely play fighting. If they were real fighting youâd certainly know about it because of the hissing and the blood.

As someone who has witnessed two cats fighting IRL, you'd know without a doubt if they were fighting
100% play. Itâs not even close to real fighting.
Normal cat behavior. Itâs only when fur flies that you have to be concerned.
Rough horse play. They are good
Torticos are just spicy. They are playing.
Also claws are sheathed, if real fight they would be tightly latched to each other, fur flying, loud vocal, claws out, blood sprays
We call this âbubbingâ in my house. Super cute
Looks like play aggression to me. If they were truly fighting, it would be LOUD.
A bit of hair flying at the end. I'm not sure what that means, I'm just pointing not out
No hizzng, screaming, zooming or blood, they are playing
Tail wagging = good đ this is identical to how my cats wrastle
Play fight at its finest, no malice there.
We refer to this as âThunderdomeâ in our house, although two cats enter and two cats leave.
100 %
Just playing. The orange is a punk though lol
