Their best album imo. I would definitely just get this one and maybe the faithless one but I would throw some gasoline on the rest of them and burn them with a blowtorch.
Otherwise yes bu I have all the Nevermore CDs already. If I had to add one to my collection, it'd be Celine Dion's Colour of My Love. I remember borrowing it from the library and listening to it when it was new.
It wouldn't be the worst CD in my collection.
They had a lot of CDs that were basically the same kind of stuff mainly 90's pop best of and compilation CDs only thing worth getting was the Nevermore and I picked up the Chris Rea because it's a very good album. You just don't get anything popular like classic rock or good indie much but every now and then you find a nice pixies collection or a few Beatles CDs but it's rare. And for £1 I'm not complaining.
Personally I would consider Everything But the Girl and Scissor Sisters.
But judging by this post... I would MAYBE recommend checking out The Shadows. Twangy 60s surf rock that a Pixies-enjoyer might like.
Chris Rea is so underrated. I was pleased to hear Cerys Matthews play him in the blues show the other week. New Light Through Old Windows is such a great 'best of', adding that iconic lick to the re-record of On the Beach was a genius move.
The rat pack because my grandfather-in-law was friends with them and he passed from covid and I miss his stories. So I could put that on and remember him. He was an og and one of the coolest dudes I have ever met.
That’s an eclectic mix! For music fans of the “lounge era” - The Rat Pack or Tony Bennett would be the picks If you like more “high brow” music Venessa Mae and her awesome violin is the pick. For me it’s Ultravox, but that is probably just because of my age…
Those 'New Woman' CDs were freebies that came with the magazine BITD but they have some interesting tracks on them.
It's interesting that they show up in Aus charity shops too, IDK if it because the magazine was published over here or if it's British people who moved out here in the 2000s giving away their CDs.
Chris Rea - The Road to Hell - it's a great album. Others that stand out to me are the best of Ultravox, the MJ single and Michael McDonald. Also maybe The Move since I don't really know their music, but I know about their relation to ELO. I'd say the rest of it is the kind of stuff I skip over between the good stuff. I think some people could look a bit closer.
Ultravox - they were a good band. And I'd be very curious to know just what was so peculiar about Vinny Peculiar.
I'd swerve the Annie Lennox one though. Couple of good singles but not a good album.
If I had to choose from one in this picture, it would be either Best of Tony Bennett or The Rat Pack.
Edit: I didn't see the second or third picture. I'd choose Mark Knophler. I'm not familiar with that album, but I've never heard anything of his that wasn't good
*Golden Heart* is nice. A bit of a bridge between Dire Straits and his solo style. The non-involvement of John Illsley notwithstanding, it could've been a Dire Straits record.
If you are cool and seek to become a gatekeeper then it is 100% Nevermore.
The Ratpack, assuming its frank, dean, and sammie vs some band named ratpack, would be pretty cool but I would rather have the vinyl.
However the answer is one of the two Admirals of Yacht Rock.. Michael McDonald.
I have pretty much everything in there I would mostly likely pick up, but I don't have To All The New Arrivals by Faithless so I'm grabbing that.
(Also, tell me you're from the UK without telling me you're from the UK).
looks like alot of crap…. i would go with the “commitments”. good tunes on there
It's a fantastic soundtrack.
This is absolutely the way
Everything but the girl.
Walking Wounded is a great album
Their best album imo. I would definitely just get this one and maybe the faithless one but I would throw some gasoline on the rest of them and burn them with a blowtorch.
Best of the Move
This is my answer... they've got some solid jams.
Yes, that is the one that definitely caught my eye. I have some of their music already, but I’d but that for a pound to play in the car.
Yeah it's got a good selection of songs, especially if you've never heard The Move before.
Nothing
Thrift store crap
Yup
None of that crap
Probably the Micheal McDonald
Ah, I missed that, I would absolutely be snapping that up.
Totally.
Faithless. Their only album I don’t own.
Second this. It's a good album and miles better than the rest of what's there.
Golden heart by Mark Knopfler. Such a good album
It is. I have three of his solo albums now, all great listens.
I have all of them thanks to those two recent boxes. Well, not One Deep River, but that'll be here on April 12 when it's released.
Nevermore.
Otherwise yes bu I have all the Nevermore CDs already. If I had to add one to my collection, it'd be Celine Dion's Colour of My Love. I remember borrowing it from the library and listening to it when it was new. It wouldn't be the worst CD in my collection.
Sticks out like a sore thumb and is by far the only one I’d consider even though I own them all. Rest can go in the trash imo
Ultravox!
I didn’t see that one, and that’s the only one I would get from this pile of crap.
Mark Nopfler Golden Heart
That was my answer. This assortment of CDs seems almost purposefully random & not cool.
It looks very much like the average charity shop shelf. Would definitely give the Knopfler album a listen though. And Ultravox.
Commitments, All that Jazz, or the fairy story one for samples probably 😊
Barry White - The Collection. Funky soul delivered with one of the deepest bass voices….the smooth groove.
Rush hour 2
Did they have anything good?
They had a lot of CDs that were basically the same kind of stuff mainly 90's pop best of and compilation CDs only thing worth getting was the Nevermore and I picked up the Chris Rea because it's a very good album. You just don't get anything popular like classic rock or good indie much but every now and then you find a nice pixies collection or a few Beatles CDs but it's rare. And for £1 I'm not complaining.

Was the Nevermore album the original or the remix from a year or two later?
Chris Rea is so underrated. I was pleased to hear Cerys Matthews play him in the blues show the other week. New Light Through Old Windows is such a great 'best of', adding that iconic lick to the re-record of On the Beach was a genius move.
That absolutely random Nevermore CD should be getting snapped up
Counting crows
A great band with some fantastic songs. Their greatest hits would be an easy pick.
Not even a debate: Dirty Dancing Soundtrack
The commitments
Nevermore - Enemies of Reality, no question.
Trick question: I can never bring myself to buy just one CD ! 🤣
Barry White.
Films About Ghosts: The Best Of… Counting Crows 🙈
Looks like every picked-over thrift store in my area, except we would have more Susan Boyle, Enya and John Tesh CDs up for grabs.
Faithless caught my eye
Same. “Hope and Glory” has a killer vibe. I’d be tempted to by The Shadows, for some surfer guitars.
I’d save my money.
Stereophonics! (🏴Wales mentioned!!!🏴)
Probably the Commitments soundtrack or the Annie Lennox
The best of counting crows. It has Mr Jones
Bedtime favorites and favorite fairy stories
Oof. I guess one of the rat pack CDs.
Rush hour 2 forrrrr surrrrre
Vinny peculiar. Rat pack would be the popular pic. But Vinny is the man behind Jesus stole my girlfriend 😂 probably more bangers on that one.
The rat pack because my grandfather-in-law was friends with them and he passed from covid and I miss his stories. So I could put that on and remember him. He was an og and one of the coolest dudes I have ever met.
Mark Knopfler Golden Heart
That’s an eclectic mix! For music fans of the “lounge era” - The Rat Pack or Tony Bennett would be the picks If you like more “high brow” music Venessa Mae and her awesome violin is the pick. For me it’s Ultravox, but that is probably just because of my age…
Scissor Sisters is always a good time.
Shadows for sure! If it's the right "The Shadows" that is, hopefully the 60s group rather than the others I've been tricked by.
Yeah, I’d make sure it has Apache on there.
Oh definitely
Those 'New Woman' CDs were freebies that came with the magazine BITD but they have some interesting tracks on them. Chris Rea
Michael Jackson "You Are Not Alone" great song
Ultravox
Looks like the average UK charity shop.
Counting Crows Best Of. Or the "All That Jazz" compilation. But I'm a fan of jazz anyway.
I think some people could look a bit closer.
christina aguilera - stripped
Michael McDonald for sure.
Ting Tings “That’s Not My Name” the only good CD I see [Video](https://youtu.be/v1c2OfAzDTI?si=_J7BnGQHtYqgBZfR)
Surprised nobody has said the Michael Jackson cd
Meh, Michael Jackson peaked with Bad
Probably Tony Bennett or MJ
The Move
Everything besides Nevermore would probably find its way to the trash if it wound up in my possession tbh
The Move - any 'best of' is going to be wall-to-wall bangers
Best of ultravox
Knopfler
Golden Heart
*Remembering The 60’s* is probably the best of this shit
Ratpackbarrywhitecommitments. That would be the one to get.
Ultravox
Mark Knopfler and Celine Dion
Nothing for me thanks.
If there is a charity shop in the uk that doesn’t have that Scissor Sisters album, I am yet to find it
See also: Justified by Justin Timberlake, The Man Who by Travis, the Damien Rice album with Cannonball on it
And Aqualung. Not the cool Jethro Tull album but the dreary singer with that TV ad executive's wet dream of a song from around 2000.
I liked him.
It's more me being a miserable git than any fault of the singer!
Heh, fairy nuff!
Ultravox - they were a good band. And I'd be very curious to know just what was so peculiar about Vinny Peculiar. I'd swerve the Annie Lennox one though. Couple of good singles but not a good album.
None
Christina Aguilera - Stripped
Orbits 3.0 for sure!
Perry Como, best of. Underrated crooner for sure.
probably the Annie Lennox album
Bedtime favorites & favorite fairy stories
Orbits 3.0 voyage through the solar system.
I’d save my £1.
Phil Collins’ Dance Into The Light
None of them 💀
I would say Kesha, but I actually already own Warrior. Phil Collins it is.
Absolute Christmas 🤘😎
The best of the move 🔥
Kesha's Warrior. It's the only one in the entire stack I would listen to.
Nevermore, or ANNIE FUCKING LENNOX DIVA!!!
Barry White. Not a fan of genre or era collections.
remembering the sixties
Barry White all the way
You got overcharged.
None of the above
Definitely Nevermore or the Rush Hour 2 soundtrack
Nevermore probably
Dirty Dancing
If you are cool and seek to become a gatekeeper then it is 100% Nevermore. The Ratpack, assuming its frank, dean, and sammie vs some band named ratpack, would be pretty cool but I would rather have the vinyl. However the answer is one of the two Admirals of Yacht Rock.. Michael McDonald.
Nothing tbh
Orbits 3.0
Donovan greatest hits
Stripped
You are not alone Michael jackson
This is the stuff I pass up every time I'm at any thrift store. Quality over quantity.
Maybe the ting tings cd
Ultravox
Winterhaler Service CD
Oof. I was afraid I wouldn’t find a single one I’d pay 25c for, and then Mike Knopfler came in clutch
Counting Crows. Great band.
Definitely Rush Hour 2
Do I have to?
Counting Crows - Films About Ghosts, The Very Best Of
Best of the Move
Christina
ig mark knopfler
Probably Best of Perry Como. Also Best of Move and Scissor Sister. Don’t know the latter two but for 1 GDP I’ll bite, they sound interesting to me.
• Everything But the Girl • Michael McDonald • Glenn Miller • ‘Remembering the Sixties’ • ‘Electric Dreams’ • The Shadows • Rush Hour 2
Orbits sound good. I'm a space geek, and I am going through a new age phase right now.
Orbits 3.0
Remembering the sixties probably
Gregory Alan Isakov - The Weatherman
Probably the Ultravox. Although Waiting For the Siren's Call is good, too.
The Ting Tings single. I’d be interested to know if there are any remixes on it.
I have pretty much everything in there I would mostly likely pick up, but I don't have To All The New Arrivals by Faithless so I'm grabbing that. (Also, tell me you're from the UK without telling me you're from the UK).
Commitments soundtrack and Dirty Dancing soundtrack also
