Does the CD slip in different players? Do other CDs skip in The player you have been listening to?

Shawnsolo316

I read online that for old CD players nearby vibrations can cause it to skip here in there and I do have my AC in my bedroom so that could be what’s causing it to skip

Definitely possible it could be something like that. I don't know the particulars of your player, but I would try placing it somewhere else or try a different CD player altogether, if you can. Does it have vents that are covered? It could be overheating. Also is it placed on a stable level surface? Again, I have no idea if those are factors for your CD player, but it might be worth making sure it's not the issue. If you have the original manual for that CD player, check if it has a troubleshooting section. They used to put that in manuals for everything. If you don't have it, try searching online if someone posted a PDF of it.

I did find it on the side of the road, so i def should clean the disc tray, how can I clean the tray without making it do any damage to any of my cd’s? Like, should i wet wipe, clorox? Like whats a good way to clean the tray?

Have you examined the recorded side for bad scratches or fingerprints?

Shawnsolo316

What would you recommend is the best way to check?

Significant-Money465

Anything that provides good lighting. I've used a flashlight before to check for fingerprints and scratches. Sometimes you have to hold it at an angle. If there are fingerprints use a microfiber cloth, nothing abrasive. Always wipe from centre outward and never circular.

Shawnsolo316

Never circular, so straight lines from center to edge?

Significant-Money465

Yes

Good to know!👍
