i was logged out of my account mid-rp and brought back to the new site too. i had to change it back to old site from there.😅 i'm fine with it as long as they don't completely remove the old site, i find it easier to use.

same, that's why i was so annoyed when i thought they removed it 😭 i've tried to use the new one but it's just so CONFUSING

Sorry for the delay, time zones and all...  Just like the other person said, click on https://old.character.ai/ i recommend bookmarking the site to go there easier.   if you are brought to the new website, on the sidebar where you have your recent chats, in the bottom corner above your profile, you should see "back to old site", just click on it.  it might log you out though, it did that on mine.   hoping this is useful to others who have difficulties!

What was easier about the old site?

i just prefer the old layout i guess, i find the homepage too "busy" on it (especialy on mobile.) And i don't really like that lateral bar thing. I prefered when my recent chat were directly visible when i go to the homepage, not having to click on a hidden bar on the side while the homepage is greeted by the "try these" bots that i don't care about. Also when i want to delete several messages in the middle of my conversation, for example 10 messages of ooc, i can do it directly on the old website and on the new one i can either delete 1 message by 1 message, or delete EVERYTHING past that point. I prefer the old message deletion. after 1 year of using the old one it's difficult to change. The one thing i like on the new one is the swipe counter. of course to each their opinion :)

Normal log in. I don't want to have to visit my email for a link or use a Google account to get in.

It did the same with me. If you have the app on your phone I would highly suggest going into settings and refusing permission to have websites take you to that app. That worked for me, but I don't know if it would for you. I would still try it, however! ^^

Go into settings then look up "app" then somewhere you should find app settings. Scroll down to c.ai then remove the permission that it has for off app sites 🫡

Don't worry, the old site is still there. But instead of beta.character.ai and plus.character.ai (for C.AI+ users), it's now old.character.ai for both free and plus users. The new site still doesn't let me log in, so on desktop, i'm stuck with the old version, but i'm not complaining about that, tbh. The newly redesigned site needs more work before i consider switching over.
