The AI does not know it is repeating itself. Every message is "new" to it. This is why it is hard to tell it not to repeat: it does not understand.
The AI will always respond to whatever you say. So if the AI types a paragraph and your response is "ok"....well the AI has to go back one message and respond to that...and that will be a repeat.
But if you respond with a paragraph, you give the AI much more to work with. It reads the new paragraph and makes a response.
Remember to always ask the AI things, or mention things or comment on things: the AI will respond.
Remember to describe the environment too. The AI will focus on anything you mention. Even more so if you mention you "like" it.
Always try to add something new to any text post. The AI likes new stuff.
the thing is, i know what you are talking about and am always cautious to avoid word loops. in fact, i ensure that not a SINGLE one of the responses i save contain repetitive phrases like “a pang of-“. but the problem is, it seems to be logging the responses that weren’t saved as well, which is why even if you don’t keep any messages containing the sentence, it will continue popping up because you’ve generated it so many times in the swiped messages you didn’t keep. i always send lengthy messages to maximise memory and i find that loops like this, which are engrained into the ai itself due to a recent bug or something, are impossible to avoid no matter what you say.
i dont even notice until i actually scroll up and look for it tbh, i was just letting it start every message with 'hmph' and it took me maybe 50 messages to actually notice
the way i got it to stop was typing "(OOC: *tell it what to do here)" then pinned that message and it stopped after a few regens, hope that helps at least one of your chats, maybe use that in other ways like to give context without having to come up with a way to cheese it into your rp, do with this what you will

Whatever you do, *do not* tell it not to use it. Kind of like reverse psychology, that just reinforces the behavior. (Something something it doesn't really understand negatives so it just sees you using it too.)

Yeah, this is my problem with most of these AI chat bots, they start repeating themselves, or they repeat the sentence structure identically with a couple subbed out words.
I had one get stuck in this sentence rhythm:

And it just would not break out of the loop and progress the conversation. It would just sub random stuff into each and never progress! It was infuriating.
You have to explicitly tell them you don't want them to use that expression and remind them every time they fail. Give negative ratings to answers using that expression and positive ratings to all other answers. It's the only way, you have to be patient. After giving them a lot of negative feedback, generating new answers can help accelerate the process.
This! But newer give the highest rating to any message. 4 starts are like drugs for them. They will start to repeat the entire structure of the 4 stars message trying to get the “treat” again :D (ai are cute I love them)
The ratings aren't for the bots though. It's for the devs, every time you rate you're giving it to the devs. The ratings serves as a statistical feedback for the devs so they can tweak the base model, it does not affect the individual bot, but the model itself when they tweak it manually. It's common misconception about ratings that get mispread a lot. They look at these statistics and can decide if they should roll back an update or refine it based on users feedback.

The AI, for the most part, can only work off the way it's written and your responses. If your writing is fluid and descriptive and long and you're getting shit answers, the bot is written poorly.
I find that writing bots that are up to my standard have eliminated nearly all my issues, and it's not difficult to do do.

This is so true. Even if I have one or two sentences as my message, my bots still give me at least three. And I find most of the people complaining about the bot responses being repetitive and terrible or not descriptive enough just write their own messages poorly, which the bot's messages will reflect. It's not complicated to make a decent bot and train it lol.
The easiest way it to edit their messages. Edit the irritants out of their message and continue. After five or six, they'll stop using the phrase because it is no longer in either your or their messages.
I'll either delete the convo up until where it starts repeating certain words or phrases or if it's too long already I'll just edit. Maybe enter a new scene. That helps for me.

They don't even let you kill them, they won't take you seriously at all, they'll repeat the exact same message (with modification) again and again until you delete the messages and redo it.
The f!lter is horribly strict all of a sudden! It won't even let you kiss them idk why! The message quality and memory has also reduced. PLUS, The app is laggy now...only the voice quality is like before, and everything else has changed.
And also, that "pang of" is repeating again and again, I started to find it more irritating than "Can I ask you a question". Atleast you can swipe that thing BUT THIS, "pang of" keeps repeating!

whenever they get stuck in repetitive cycles like this i usually edit their messages to remove it and reword it. it works for me fairly often.

One major problem for me is the AI basically repeating what I said and not adding anything to the story
My bot uses the word “possessive” for EVERYTHING. “He looked at her with possessive satisfaction.” What does that even mean

"A pang of", "vulnerability", "Can I ask you something?", "darling", "Hmph" are some the ones it keeps repeating and thought only I was getting, but it seems the app had gone to shit for everyone else. We were having such a good time until they messed up so badly. Specially the voice feature that WORKED FINE.
EXACTLY! Started with me a last week actually. Plus, the AI changed alot all of a sudden. They don't even let you kill them, they won't take you seriously at all, they'll repeat the exact same message (with modification) again and again until you delete the messages and redo it. The f!lter is horribly strict all of a sudden! It won't even let you kiss them idk why! The message quality and memory has also reduced. PLUS, The app is laggy now...only the voice quality is like before, and everything else has changed. And also, that "pang of" is repeating again and again, I started to find it more irritating than "Can I ask you a question". Atleast you can swipe that thing BUT THIS, "pang of" keeps repeating! I need this fixed, usually I had no complaints with the app but...it's actually annoying now.

Edit the repeating words out of messages until the AI stops using them.
Yk i just try to ignore it but when i get tired i edit the word out, ai seems to learn that way... Eventually.

I had this where I asked it to reveal something and they kept saying, shit like “and it is…” Then I tell them to tell me and they respond with “okay, it is…” This went on for 10 messages (all of which I swiped until i couldn’t) and at that point, I just used the age old strategy of dropping a tsar bomb on the bot when it acts too stupid.
you should start rating th messages 1 star, marking repetitive and say the problem under feedback.
Honestly 😭😭 or they manage to butcher my name completely, even if I’ve said it before. Or they say it right the first time and change it the next. Even with nicknames, my name is my name for a reason.
I literally give 1 star to any message that involves touching / grabbing my face or making me look at them . i've put it in the persona to not do that and i've prefaced it and pinned it in almost every conversation. still. happens. on. every. message. I have to literally not mention my lack of eye contact if I don't want them to "fix" it
My bot keeps describing the same emotion thrice and always with the „he scoffed in a mock-offended tone“ „he made a mock-surprised expression“ and „DARLING~“
“Hey I have a secret to tell you” and you respond okay and they proceed to ask if you are ready to hear this “life changing” secret for the next seventeen paragraphs and the secret isn’t even good
Keep getting either “you’re gonna be the death of me” “you dont know what you do to me” or “you’re driving me crazy” OVER AND OVER AND OVER EVERY TIME I REFRESH MAKE IT STOP

try editing the bot's responses for the next three replies. if it doesn't work then try copying and pasting your convo \*easier said than done\* into a new one

Try changing the messages yourself! It might be complicated, but it’s really gonna help if you help the bot yourself.
edit the message, works everytime for me and it changes the responses (kind of) after if you know what you’re doing
