Abby with Bold Salon, I have/had long hair and take my hair very seriously, Abby is the absolute greatest and I’ve never had a bad cut from her. She’s right across from the Whole Foods in north shore
Does she do scissor cut only? Back when my locks were flowing I had a hard time finding someone and just said eff it and have continued to see my dude in Nashville. But he has the ability to instill so much confidence that I think I could never leave him for another stylist.
She’s got all the tools and really works to an individual specific hair type and needs, I can’t say enough good about her and she has an Instagram if you want to look at her work - @gal_tang
Lonnie over at All City Barber Co. is great. He has long curly hair himself, so I imagine he knows how to cut it. That said, I always go with a fade just because it means longer time between haircuts so...
The “weird knife thing” was probably a straight razor, and several of the stylists at Pasha salon will do razor cuts — it’s primarily what they use for shag style cuts. I know Kathryn and Amberjill there will both do it, there’s more but I haven’t gone to the other stylists that do.
They are *not* cheap however.
I am a man with long wavy hair, and I now go to Taylor at Pasha after two years of trying different places around Chattanooga. She understands your hair and your goals with it. She also uses a straight razor. I highly recommend.
lets see these gorgeous locks! I dont really care what my hair looks like, i keep it short so i dont have to spend a lot of time or money on it. I'd love to see what cared for hair looks like.

Good Sister also does straight razor cuts. Not cheap but excellent work.
(I also have a few cowlicks, but they’ve never been a problem for Meg.)
Town and country barbershop/salon on the north shore.
Curtis at Hair Benders on North shore will do a great job
My initial thought would have been a barber but I get my hair cut at sports clips so probably don’t take advice from me!
Yeah sports clips would absolutely destroy my hair 😂
