I swing into tackles a lot, for the clips here there's like 10:1 where I just whack them and they're stopped.
But sometimes you just get caught while you're doing something else. Sometimes you end up on the ground. What, you've never been tackled?
I have questions about alt + attack
When I hold alt it looks exactly the same from the same side as it would without alt held down.
Am I missing something
It should. Maybe double check your binding. fyi I like Alt-Attack on Caps Lock, and imo Shift makes a good Cancel Attack.
Alt-attacks should come out left by default, or if you're guarding it'll come out right (since guarding already inverts your swings and you invert the inversion back to normal)
I don't think it's very widely known tbh, even by veterans. One of those weird niche mechanics that the game never explains so it's easy to miss. When I saw a post about bending the rapier special a few months back I got to wondering what else you can do.
I pull this even on high level players and it catches them way off guard, it's fun making your 1k mates do a little wiggle and look at you like *"the fuck was that?!"*

Sounds like it. When you alt slash your slash should come from the left to the right and a normal slash comes from the right to the left.
