This actually happened to a town near me. A lack of government oversight from upper level governments and budget cutbacks lead to a large exposure of E. Coli and now the towns name is synonymous with the outbreak 24 years later.

"So, how does everyone feel about the massacre of their neighbours?" ""Very happy"
This is such an iconic thing in CS1, almost as iconic as drowning your sims in a pool in The Sims.
Once I was detailing a neighborhood without pausing the game and when I zoomed out again and looked at the stats, I had lost like 90% of the population due to poisoned water. Fortunately I had tons of money so I was able to wait it out and get the population back.
The cholera pandemic is something that every single CS player goes through. I remember my happy city moving to green energy building a dam, only to realise that the river had started flowing back and every one drank shit and died.
I had a city with 69k people and I built the building that pumps water during a flood from roads and buildings but I had it over pollution so the water killed everyone
I'm pulling it back, got down to 19,000 population back up to 30,000 but still -$20,000 "income". Lucky I had a nice chunk of millies to burn through 🤣
Just don't get hit by a natural disaster that manages to destroy all 12 of your DRUs and then also destroy one singular power line that cuts all power supply to your city
I wrote lore that my city's mayor was arrested for gross mismanagement that led to 10000 deaths due to water poisoning. Mayor Chuck Albatross of Fishburg is currently two years into a 15 year prison term in the Wisconsin State Prison.
OK OK OK, so contrary to POOPular belief, I did NOT pump sewage into the homes of my people. I pumped industrial waste into their homes. I forgot you can't put a water tower... or two... on industrial land, bump it up to 3x speed and go and make yourself lunch while the money rolls in. On the bright side, my traffic flow went back up to 96% and I had been working on getting back to the 90s for days so at least I achieved something.
They wont remember you for how you built the city or how you had to rebuild it after this. Theyll remember you for "The Water Incident"
ice town cost ice clown his town crown
Yesssirrr
They were big into rhymes
as how that joke goes: “…you fucked one goat…”
" you suck 1 dick...
..."you're born with a HUGE penis"
"You kiss your homie ONE time..."

Ungrateful victims. Instead of saying thanks, they die and get sick.
For real! See how happy the ones not dying are?!?! Just goes to show you can do everything else right and some people harp on about your one flaw.
I don’t think there will be anyone to remember anything
Watergate
True in Louisiana they named a town Sulfur because they had a major sulfur leak into the water supply

The Springvalley Water Pollution Tragedy
Somebody poisoned the waterhole!
Seems like someone pooed in the waterhole.
I was gonna use this as a caption!
Then suddenly you get: "We just got voted the most attractive city. Good job mayor"
I know this pain
mayor thinks having even a tiny bit of poo in the drinking water is ok. yea right. GO VOTE. also bet it’s the mayor poo pooing right in the basin
That's a big old RIP right there lol.
The shitocalypse
They’re being so over dramatic 🙄🙄🙄

Disaster always strikes when I’m fixing the roads
I think your cims might throw you in jail. Be careful!
Erin Brockovich would like to have a word with you sir.
This might be my favourite comment!
Lol, nice.
What’s this the Flint patch
a bunch of complainers if you ask me.. 🙄
Oh great, you poisoned their water supply. Now what? Burn their crops and bring plague upon their houses?
The cholera pandemic is something that every single CS player goes through. I remember my happy city moving to green energy building a dam, only to realise that the river had started flowing back and every one drank shit and died.
“Okay, I get it already! You guys don’t like drinking shit! Sheesh”
your citizens do not have a strong enough immune system. give them small doses of poison to build their resistance
"the water tastes dirty, let me drink MORE!"
They really did bring it upon themselves "here kids, does this water taste like industrial waste to you?!"
We built this city!!!! We built this city on..
I had a city with 69k people and I built the building that pumps water during a flood from roads and buildings but I had it over pollution so the water killed everyone

POV: people who live in spring valley when I poison their water (they want attention)
POV: Flint
What a bunch of pansies!
Everyone waives their pirate flagss arghhhh
You sound like the Mexico City mayor this past month
Thats not fair. How the fellas can drink Ganges water?
You mean one time for several months?
I mean, you literally pumped poo water into their homes, but I mean, it's still safer than the drinking water in some towns in the USA right...?
How to reset the population 😂
Me when I put sewage in a place and forgot I had water intake coming from the stream that the sewage was hitting
mass hysteria poisoning
Most realistic Flint Michigan town I've seen !

Time to accept the inevitable and rename the town "Poopville"
I thought "Spingwater Valley" would be good when I get things back on track.
Welp, time to start over, cause you're about to be $200m in constant and deepening debt
I'm pulling it back, got down to 19,000 population back up to 30,000 but still -$20,000 "income". Lucky I had a nice chunk of millies to burn through 🤣

one time but for ten years 💀
Look, I may have put it on 3x speed and went to make lunch 🤣
Sorry for language, but phrase "sh*t happens" reached whole new meaning. (edited)

Who knew a little industrial waste water was so bad for people?!? 🤷♀️
A little?! lol The way your city died it looks like it was more than just a little.
Ohhh, you're being as dramatic as they are... I mean, were.
![gif](giphy|11wzSz5pm4WktW)
Ugh. I just delt with that and at the same time a HUGE fires broke out and I had to waste MILLIONS on fire fighters.
Offff, they could have at least used up all the poisoned water to fight the fires instead of letting people drink it!

Well I would over react too if the water I drank was poisoned **just one time**
