whenever a unit dies after a couple of turns there is a chance of zombie spawning there they have 20 strenght at the start and get gradualy stronger to match your units as time goes on
although they are classified as barbarians their ai works diffrently they dont move around unless they see a unit in and will go after that unit even if they have 1 hp and the opposing unit has 20 more strenght than it and they only attack units and structures (encampents and cities) they dont pillage
if you have holy site or a campus in your city you can do a rather cheap city project that gives control of all zombies in your cities radius to you for quite a while
also newly spawned barbarian encampents also spawn a zombie
its quite managable as long as you have couple of units lying aroun
Is zombie mode fun and winnable? Never tried it but every time I see a screenshot here, it looks like this.
