Came for this too. I love this album and was at a concert that was part of the recording for it. These two songs together are a snapshot of a happy, carefree time in my life. One without the other just feels wrong.
My Dad told me the story of when he bought Zepplin II on vinyl and he tried to return the album because it must have been a scratch only to have the record store tell him that it was just the 2 songs and how it sounds.
Any of these Grateful Dead combos are excellent. Trying to pick what is the best Dark Star combo is really tough. Maybe Morning Dew or Eyes of the World?
Van Halen - Eruption/You Really Got Me
Pink Floyd - The Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2
Tool - Parabol/Parabola (yeah, I know, they're not classic rock)
ZZ Top - Waitin' For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago
DSOTM is a given.
Also, it’s a lot of fun to do Behind the Lines / Duke’s End (Genesis), though I wouldn’t say that they need to be played together. In fact, I’d say most of the time they shouldn’t be because that’s not how it appears on the album, but it is fun every once in a while.
Red Rider! Did they get a lot of airplay in Michigan? I love me and Red Rider, but I'm from Toronto so i do get to hear them on the radio from time to time.
"Feeling that Way" is easily my favorite song by Journey........it takes me right back to summers in the late 70's as a teen. The back and forth between Perry and Rollie! That song and "Sweet Emotion" take me there (and no I'm not saying these 2 songs belong together!)
I can separate it from "Anytime" but yeah they do feel right together.
A few weeks ago for the first time ever I heard "We Will Rock You" **WITHOUT** being followed up by "We Are The Champions" on the radio. It was so weird.
We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions - Queen
Macho Man/In The Navy/YMCA - The Village People (wedding receptions)
This Is It (Kenny Loggins)/Turn Me Loose (Loverboy) (Linton Class of 1982 Class Songs)
Empty Spaces/Young Lust Sgt Pepper / With a little help from my friends
Also Sgt Pepper’s Reprise and Day in the Life
Better replace Empty Spaces with its original version What Shall We Do Now?
Surprised no one has said “Brain Damage”/“Eclipse” by Pink Floyd yet…
You can't just play one single song from DSOTM and just play something else. 2 song minimum
I scrolled down just so I could upvote it.
No Sugar Tonight / New Mother Nature
That song is some hot shit right there
Heartbreaker /Living loving maid
Also Friends / Celebration Day.
I raise you, Immigrant Song/Friends
I Can’t Quit You Baby / How Many More Times
Yes!!! my childhood classic rock station KZOK in seattle always played these together and I need to thank them
💯
Absolutely. Hate the shuffle on the phone. They belong together.
This is the correct answer
Waiting for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago
>Waiting for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago r/ZZTopOrWesleyWillis
Have mercy Been waitin' for the bus all day I got my brown paper bag and my take home pay
Funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding
Dream Theater does a good job on this pair too
Load out/Stay
How this has no upvotes is beyond me. Beautiful album written and recorded entirely on the road, all about being on the road.
And on the bus!
Came for this too. I love this album and was at a concert that was part of the recording for it. These two songs together are a snapshot of a happy, carefree time in my life. One without the other just feels wrong.

Shoo Be Do / Candy-O
Moving in Stereo/All Mixed Up.
You have to start this with Bye-Bye Love. Ben’s big threepeat
Phoebe Cates! Seriously though I bought this great album in '79 before Fast Times
May as well throw Double Life in there too
Peace Frog>Blue Sunday
Travelin' Man / Beautiful Loser
The best
I *feel* Beautiful Loser... live & studio
We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions.
Shitty classic rock radio constantly plays we will rock you without the follow up and it's maddening.
That’s illegal
That's so scandalous
They're always played these 2 back to back by radio stations I listen every now and then
My first thought.
Kings. This Beat Goes On/Switchin’ to Glide
Nice to see this twofer getting some likes. Didn't know if people still listened to it, but I definitely still enjoy it.
Feeling That Way, Anytime

ELO - Eldorado Overture/Can’t Get It Out Of My Head
Driven to Tears/ When the World is Running Down
Brain Stew/Jaded by Green Day
I've noticed this is how it's done, but I feel like they stand alone just fine.
True but seems better when played together
Exactly. Brain stew is like when you’re tired and out of it, and then Jaded is when you get your coffee and have a manic episode lmao
Falling In And Out Of Love/Amie
This one! You can’t have one without the other. Near perfect example.
Cannot STAND when a station cuts off the beginning of Amie
Bringing on the Heartbreak/Switch 625.... Def Leppard
Every time i hear the heartbreak fade out and no switch follow up, it irks me.
Its just rude!! lol But when it does happen it is EPIC
The Helion / Electric Eye

The Wall in general
Those two by the Cars may be my favorite two linked songs. The bridge for All Mixed Up seals the deal.
Oooh, Droned and Hand in Hand! Good one!

I heard Lunatic Fringe a lot on Chicago radio, but no other song by them that I can recall.
This Beat Goes On/Switching to Glide by The Kings
The Load-out/Stay
One does not play “We Will Rock You” without immediately launching into “We Are The Champions”. It is rock law.
2112 Overture /Temples of Syrinx
Side A of 2112 is one long song.
Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen. By the same token, Batuka/No One to Depend On.
Foreplay/Longtime

China Cat Sunflower / I Know You Rider
Intruder / (Oh) Pretty Woman - Van Halen
You Don't Love Me/Soul Serenade- Allman Brothers
The original band only did that one time, at A&R Studios, so that would knock out the *At Fillmore East* version. It is great, though.
Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman)
Don’t want you more more ~ Not my cross to bear (Allman Brothers Band)
Little Guitars Spanish Fly into DOA Thunderbird into Jailhouse Rock, Zz Scuttle Buttin into Couldn't Stand the Weather
