Over the years she probably began to resent him too since he grew closer to Ashley instead of treating her the same way she does. Basically she blames them for the "flaws" she caused...
Well she did throw Andrew into the organ harvesting hotel thing with Ashley, so I'd say it's safe to assume her favor for him steadily dropped over time, but never quite reached the pure disdain she has for Ashley
But it for sure wasn't Ashley level, as it's very clear the disdain that she has for Ashley.
It's pretty obvious that between both of them, she is taking Andrew any day of the week, no questions asked.
Renee refers to Ashley as merely an embarrassment even after knowing about the Nina incident. That’s just total “gives no fucks.” Not that that was the inciting incident that got Renee to see her that way, which would show where Andrew’s disregard for others’ lives came from.
She considers Ashley simply an embarrassment even after knowing by this point that she was involved in Nina’s disappearance and death. No way that was when she first considered her as such, so that incident didn’t change her view of her daughter one way or the other.
Abusive parents are some of the most revolting humans imaginable, and she’s perfect proof. Her kids are cannibals who summon demons and commit incest, but she’s infinitely more detestable.
Nah, it's fine dude. The fact that she's so detestable is why I like her so much.
In this game, most of the people in said world are pieces of shit. And this is by far the most fun one can have.
I wonder why she uses the different terms for each. What makes Andrew dissapointment? I can easily guess why she sees Ashley as embarresment tho.
Also I wonder if we'll see the decision to sell them and her reasoning behind it, maybe the fight with Ashley will be the final straw.
Andrew chose Ashley over his own life and responsabilities so he probably doesn't look the same in his mother's eyes. She wanted a perfect son that didn't cause trouble while also being a successful student and parent...
Maybe but it's the parents' responsability to teach morals and values to their kids. They neglected them and then acted even worse when faced with the consequences of it, just to end up giving up on them and trying to sell them...
As difficult as it was for her, the blame can't be put on Ashley either. A child that's not taken care of ends up finding its own way to survive until it becomes a habit, wouldn't it take a lifetime for her to re-learn how to properly live?
I don't think anyone should live in the past and remember all the wrongs. According to Renee, she tried to get in touch with Ashley, but she pushed her away because of childhood resentments. Mom tried, Ashley didn't want to.
She only said that to them to stop them from killing her. Se also lied to Andrew when she told him she thought they died as Andrew said she's full of shit.
We don't know that for sure. Renee claims to have tried, but the entire Graves family are unreliable narrators and we see Renee blatantly try to manipulate Andrew. I believe she would absolutely claim to have tried to reach out to Ashley when in reality she tried talking to her once, got push back, and gave up immediately with a "well, I tried".
After all the evidence we've seen, if you still don't see Renee as the root of all problems, then there's something wrong with your media literacy, bro.
Are you saying the Grandparents are the root of the problem? Potentially, yeah, that could be the case.
But we know nothing about them yet and as of two generations we knew, blaming Ashley as the root of the problem is crazy when the mother as terrible as Renee exists.
I can tell by her design that she's a bitch. In Leyley's memoirs, she was referred to as “Hag.” She is not a good person. Also, she didn't raise her daughter properly since Renee got pregnant at 15. Yeah, I'm sure all evil comes from her.
Why are we even looking at root? Let's look at the fruit instead. Andy wasn't a rotten apple at all, and Ashley was. They had a chance to work out all the family problems.
Yeah, and that chance was raising both children properly, **not shifting the responsibility of raising your "bad apple" on the child you considered good apple.**
Your judgement is just so clouded with a clear bias against Ashley.
Have you played the game? They literally made 5 year old Andrew raise his sister and completely neglected them, they even held birthday parties for him and not her. They never cared about them growing up with a morbid relation and sold them to a company.
Enabling, yes. But I don't think Renee really cares about the child murder. She is probably pissed at Ashley hence "embarrasment" and she expects Andrew to suppress Ashley's behaviour (whatever that behaviour is. It can be incest rumors, or general unpleasantness or something else we don't know yet) but he enables her bullshit hence "disappointment".
I guess he think Andrew is "disappointment" because he threw his life away for his sister while Ashely is "embarrassment" because she isn't a "perfect" or "easy child" like his brother (we don't even know if she went to college or graduated from high school). Also, it is really interesting that she notes Andrew is nervous, IMO further proves that she is really smart/manipulative and could as well trapped his husband when she got pregnant at 15 years old.
Yes at the end their messed personalities were fruit of the neglect from their parents. I'm pretty curious about Renee's because she was pregnant at 15.
I really need to leave this sub, joined so I'd immediately know when the next chapter comes out, but with all these unmarked devlog posts there ain't gonna be anything new for me to see when it actually does come out
See y'all I guess
I feel like the Burial route ending where you don’t go for the incest implications hints that the “unhatched” tar soul and the soul it was fond of are the mom and dad.
Decay route doesn’t have a “split”. The split on Burial was more just to turn on or off the incestuous implications, since I assume their relationship won’t develop into anything vaguely romantic for Decay.
Yeah.
In Burial, they have each others backs. But the route itself gives the player the choice in which sense they are going, for sibling-like, or couple-like.
Meanwhile in Decay, they are by a thread from going at each others throats.
Is Andrew left handed?
I swear 90% of the time when he’s doing something hand related it’s with his left hand. From wielding the cleaver to smoking and just recently pouring the coffee from the pot he does it with his left hand. Maybe I’m just insane
I'm amazed her name doesn't start with an A, cause I thought Nemlei would have the parents Astrid and Anders. Renee fits her, cause I remember a girl in 5th grade named Renee who had a personality similar to Mama Graves.
Yeah Renee is canon now, I posted the link for the progress report in another comment if you want to look it up. I think it suits her so well ![img](emote|t5_84ar4l|51609)
It’s crazy how she refers to Andrew as disappointment yet he’s the “easy child”
Over the years she probably began to resent him too since he grew closer to Ashley instead of treating her the same way she does. Basically she blames them for the "flaws" she caused...
Well she did throw Andrew into the organ harvesting hotel thing with Ashley, so I'd say it's safe to assume her favor for him steadily dropped over time, but never quite reached the pure disdain she has for Ashley
Her opinion of him probably dropped along with him getting closer to Ashley
But it for sure wasn't Ashley level, as it's very clear the disdain that she has for Ashley. It's pretty obvious that between both of them, she is taking Andrew any day of the week, no questions asked.
Wasn't that unintentional? Andrew was supposed to be away for college but came home early and went with Ashley.
I don't remember to be honest, but if Mommy Graves didn't care enough to rescue Andrew at least, her favor for him is pretty low.
She got even more money for the both of them, so she decided not to.
It was after they killed Nina, mother knew he was involved in it.
What I picked up was that she only said that just so and Andrew would turn on her (Ashley)
Part of why I think people that unironically think Mrs. Graves was being sincere are total suckers lol
Nah she's just trying to manipulate, people who think that, need to play the game again
Renee refers to Ashley as merely an embarrassment even after knowing about the Nina incident. That’s just total “gives no fucks.” Not that that was the inciting incident that got Renee to see her that way, which would show where Andrew’s disregard for others’ lives came from.
Wow, Andrew is literally me ...A disappointment
She considers Ashley simply an embarrassment even after knowing by this point that she was involved in Nina’s disappearance and death. No way that was when she first considered her as such, so that incident didn’t change her view of her daughter one way or the other.
I'm sorry if this might piss off some Mrs Graves (ig it's now Renee) fans but damn I freaking hate this woman.
I love how easy it is to hate her. Man, now it feels so good seeing how merciless the siblings were towards her
Abusive parents are some of the most revolting humans imaginable, and she’s perfect proof. Her kids are cannibals who summon demons and commit incest, but she’s infinitely more detestable.
Based. I'd love her if she weren't such a shitty mother
I can't comprehend how ppl can defend her it's ok to enjoy her character but holy shit she pisses me tf off
I can fix her
HAHAHAHA
I've been telling everyone that the main problem of this family is Ashley. If not for her, the family would be normal.
Maybe but it's the parents' responsability to teach morals and values to their kids. They neglected them and then acted even worse when faced with the consequences of it, just to end up giving up on them and trying to sell them...
As if a 17-25 (years of Leyley's early childhood) year old knows anything about morality and how to teaching it someone.
Bro they tried to call she hanged up on them.
I'm talking about pre-covid times
She only said that to them to stop them from killing her. Se also lied to Andrew when she told him she thought they died as Andrew said she's full of shit.
Forgiveness is never granted. To stop living in the past one should heal first
Mom tried to "heal"
We don't know that for sure. Renee claims to have tried, but the entire Graves family are unreliable narrators and we see Renee blatantly try to manipulate Andrew. I believe she would absolutely claim to have tried to reach out to Ashley when in reality she tried talking to her once, got push back, and gave up immediately with a "well, I tried".
Delulu
After all the evidence we've seen, if you still don't see Renee as the root of all problems, then there's something wrong with your media literacy, bro.
You're forgetting about Renee's mother. Do you think she was happy to learn that her 15 y o daughter got pregnant?
Are you saying the Grandparents are the root of the problem? Potentially, yeah, that could be the case. But we know nothing about them yet and as of two generations we knew, blaming Ashley as the root of the problem is crazy when the mother as terrible as Renee exists.

Yeah, and that chance was raising both children properly, **not shifting the responsibility of raising your "bad apple" on the child you considered good apple.** Your judgement is just so clouded with a clear bias against Ashley.
No, the parents were clearly neglectful of their children and they made a 5 year old kid raise her sister without giving any attention to them.
Yea, so “neglectful” that their mom was looking for used condoms to make sure they weren't fucking.
Have you played the game? They literally made 5 year old Andrew raise his sister and completely neglected them, they even held birthday parties for him and not her. They never cared about them growing up with a morbid relation and sold them to a company.
You *clearly* did not play the game...
This game is a great litmus test for blame seeking. It's crazy how many people fail this by shoveling it all onto one factor.
umm actually it's THE PARENTS 🤓☝️
>What makes Andrew dissapointment? Enabling Ashley to the point of killing a child?
Enabling, yes. But I don't think Renee really cares about the child murder. She is probably pissed at Ashley hence "embarrasment" and she expects Andrew to suppress Ashley's behaviour (whatever that behaviour is. It can be incest rumors, or general unpleasantness or something else we don't know yet) but he enables her bullshit hence "disappointment".
It probably has to do with the fact she figured out that Ashley and Andrew are responsible for killing Nina
Who she is and possibly how she was born potentially.
Probably Andrew is a drop-out, and with Ashley they both lived with their parents.
Do you say the name like in french, like Reneé?
Renée* René is the male variant and Reneé doesn't exist
Sorry but i was immediately reminded of a Broadway actress Reneé Rapp her name is spelled like that i just assumed it’s spelled like that
Like Brandy Renee, popular actress.
Actress? All i find is a youtuber/streamer
Well, thats the right Renee...
Like Mother, like son. Those two are no doubt the more "pure" of the family. I fear to know as how Renee's parents are.
Yes at the end their messed personalities were fruit of the neglect from their parents. I'm pretty curious about Renee's because she was pregnant at 15.
She also gets reborn as Ashley consumes her life and becomes all powerful, or something like that she says in decay
Yeah the only thing she'll reborn into is Ashley's shit ![img](emote|t5_84ar4l|51598)
Vore
There was a blanket over both of them so were they actually “fully” dressed??
Good point. She should've checked that instead of the trash ![img](emote|t5_84ar4l|51603)
Where does the moment come from? Like this is a good ending or something
It's a screenshot from today's progress report: https://youtu.be/sKdE7_qkvAc?si=S40GxPEiOL6fHdbV >! Must be a past memory since Renee is alive !<
Also would this mean mommy Graves is a French lady?
like mother, like daughter https://preview.redd.it/mvpuiumy6x3d1.jpeg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9c19eae36ddb984e42c3346002f23cc4e548d31
Answer me this Ashley. Who Was In Paris?
[Redacted]
Don't tempt her. You know she's gonna say it with FULL intent.
Ture
Saruei's cosplay was more perfect than we thought.
Since the game is set into a "fictional northen European country" it could be. But ngl I would have preferred if the game was set in the good old USA
What the fuck? New chapter out???
Nope, it's a preview on the kit9 Studio channel.
NOOOOOO, I WAS LUBING MYSELF UP.
Mr Graves cannon name when?
Now
I meant Mr Graves as in the dad.
It finally is canon, the screenshots are from today's progress report: https://youtu.be/sKdE7_qkvAc?si=S40GxPEiOL6fHdbV
Not \*that\* Mr Graves
Sorry I took a nap after posting and just woke up. I read "Mrs" lol
You're not alone, considering I got ratio'd by another guy who thought the same.
We're just dumb I guess ![img](emote|t5_84ar4l|51609)
No joke, my mom’s real name is Renee. Am i cooked 😭🙏
She will be the cooked one (respectfully)
Depends. Do you have a brother or sister?
I have a brother
Are you a girl? Because if so, then almost all steps are complete.
am man
In that case, you are safe.👍 Congrats.
Oh my god. She's french. (🏳=🤢)
Or Hispanic.
*“Well, well, well if it isn’t the consequences of my actions!”*
Im so happy this bitch died the way she did frfr
I thought Renee was Mrs grave’s actual name
It is
Oh
I really need to leave this sub, joined so I'd immediately know when the next chapter comes out, but with all these unmarked devlog posts there ain't gonna be anything new for me to see when it actually does come out See y'all I guess
Makes sense, my need for new content is stronger than my hate for spoilers tho. See ya ![img](emote|t5_84ar4l|51609)
Agreed. And let's be real, its not like we know the context behind those scenes. So it's not fully a spoiler.
Exactly
I wonder if she will be reborn as a demon
I feel like the Burial route ending where you don’t go for the incest implications hints that the “unhatched” tar soul and the soul it was fond of are the mom and dad.
What about the Decay route? I am guessing that is where incest and becoming a demon takes place?
Decay route doesn’t have a “split”. The split on Burial was more just to turn on or off the incestuous implications, since I assume their relationship won’t develop into anything vaguely romantic for Decay.
Yeah. In Burial, they have each others backs. But the route itself gives the player the choice in which sense they are going, for sibling-like, or couple-like. Meanwhile in Decay, they are by a thread from going at each others throats.
There another chapter?
There will be two more but we don't know the release date yet. Every first of the month a progress report gets published
Oh, ok, that's good how many chapters are out now? I've seen the part where Andrew and Ashley take the house
You're on the second chapter which is the last one for now
Oh, alright, thanks
What part is the scene from???
It's from the progress report for future chapters: https://youtu.be/sKdE7_qkvAc?si=S40GxPEiOL6fHdbV
I need
where did these come from? is part 3 out?
I wish. These are from the monthly progress report on Steam, we don't know the release date yet
Is Andrew left handed? I swear 90% of the time when he’s doing something hand related it’s with his left hand. From wielding the cleaver to smoking and just recently pouring the coffee from the pot he does it with his left hand. Maybe I’m just insane
Maybe he is ambidextrous... but how did you even notice that??
Mainly just noticed it from Andrew holding the cleaver mostly with the left hand and messing with Ashley’s hair with his left hand lol
I'm amazed her name doesn't start with an A, cause I thought Nemlei would have the parents Astrid and Anders. Renee fits her, cause I remember a girl in 5th grade named Renee who had a personality similar to Mama Graves.
Is chapter 3 out or something ?
Not yet, only thing we get is monthly progress reports
If she ever interacts with her husband, his name would probably be something like "Toy", "Piggy Bank" or "Coward".
It would be so funny
"dissapointment" "embarrassment" They are your kids mam, if they failed, maybe you should've actually tried to raise the or help them now!?!?!?
Say it louder for those who still blame it all on Ashley
Mark my words, she'll be reborn as a demon
my mom calls me the same
eat her
okay :3
I’m guessing that Mrs Graves would be considered “Whore” since in rapid succession she managed to have two children at the age of 20
Is Renee her canon name? I always figured her more of a “Miranda” or “Shawna”.
Yeah Renee is canon now, I posted the link for the progress report in another comment if you want to look it up. I think it suits her so well ![img](emote|t5_84ar4l|51609)
I don't care Mrs. Graves can do no wrong she is correct about those terrible children
Her attractiveness must not distract us into taking her side
being attractive worked for Ashley so why not Renee?
You've got a point
