I have been to Maroon Bells on multiples occasions and I don’t recall the lake or mountain being sideways lol. Maybe it would look this way if I took a good dose of shrooms.
I actually don’t think I meant to take it sideways like that now that I think about it just got done with the crater lake hike when I took that one and I booked it so I was gassed out
I actually like taking pics on an angle. It works best if the image contains an obvious reference line for level (like the water in your pic), and then if I display the print I do it with the frame/print tilted but the image itself level.
Are you suffering from that taco-neck disease that Shaq developed in the 90’s?
(We’re just messing with you OP. Not the best camera angle, but still a nice view)
This is the 3rd landscape photo I see with a non-horizontal horizon. Is this some kind of meme, statement, fashion, avant-garde art that I should be aware of?
Of the 70,000 maroon bells photos on Reddit, this is the best one. The composition, lighting, clarity. It’s all there. Even captured the 45 degree slope at maroon lake that all the other photos fail to show.
Yeah those areas melt out pretty good in the summer. The snow remaining on the Bells is resting on top of ancient glaciers though. The oozing looking rock slide you see in this photo, was once a large glacier sliding into the valley we now hike.
I didn’t fish I seen one person trying to fish maroon bells but they said f that after me warning them about the wardens walking up and down the place I would die to fish there though
Good grief. All these people in here belly aching about your camera angle need to go spend some time relaxing in the mountains and quit complaining about how they look in a picture.
This picture is mildly infuriating. Such a pretty picture, but taken at a nauseating angle.
Is [this](https://ibb.co/P4nY9gR) better?
r/midlyinfuriating
From the Bat Cave.
It’s really not that crooked it’s just the way the lake is and everything my phone was sideways completely

You live and learn didn’t know it was such a huge thing in photography I love photography well nature photography

Still a 120 likes so I’ll take it
It is a gorgeous shot!! Lol
You’re trying to tell us the lake is crooked?
I’m trying to tell you I’ve been drinking the more I reply I’m in aspen just enjoying it you live and learn won’t do it anymore
To me and my eyes didn’t look crooked but then again I’m cross eyed lol jk
Otherwise it would be a river.
Sorry to break it to you, but that ain't the case
I’ve been drinking I don’t remember how I took the photo I’m on a vacation trip
Oh come on lol, I lived in aspen for years and know that lake exists on the same regular plane as all other lakes!😝
Yer shits all crooked
Did the tripod tip over and this was the only picture you got?
Were you passing out from oxygen deprivation?
Na I love it in Colorado I used to hike way worse hikes in the mountains
Are you suffering from that taco-neck disease that Shaq developed in the 90’s? (We’re just messing with you OP. Not the best camera angle, but still a nice view)
I know y’all are now it just originally flew over my head
Didn’t get what ya mean but that’s just my style a little bit with some pictures
*tilts head* ah that's better
Some pictures I like to take like this just my style
It’s called the Dutch angle and it best for cars and people. Mountains not so much.
Best for the Grinch who stole Xmas
It's the pond that gets me.
See also: Dutch angles.
Your style is dumb. Lol
I get it! It maximises the length of river shown
Thank you just a style for myself I picked up on not all my lake photos etc are like this I took other straight photos
That’s that Dutch Angle
Are you Christopher Nolan and am I in a dream?
You in a dream
That explains the flying then, thanks!
Fever dream to be exact it’s lucid also
Clearly OP is left-leaning politically
But understood the joke lol
Independent

Idk man didn’t know it was a bad thing till now like I said live and learn
I don't know if it's a bad thing. The picture is beautiful.
My main thing was trying to get the reflection of the mountains in the lake just was hard with this lake
Now I understand. Thank you.
Never seen others do it
Was there 2 days ago. Great hike up to Crater Lake!
I’m doing crystal mill tomorrow
Wasn’t as bad as what I heard I booked it up there though

Lots of snow up there still. Would be cool to see glaciers begin to form again in Colorado. Sadly, that won't be the case.
Only seen a little bit of snow coming up independence pass

It's pretty obvious that all the people in here flaming OP are transplants who haven't ever been up to the lake while the Maroon Bells are being rung.

How was the fishing at the lake?
Sawtooths in Idaho are better
FWIW, I think it's really pretty as it is, OP! I think the angle adds to the photo
I was mainly trying to get the reflection in the lake
It’s a hit or miss with people honestly when I do take photos like this
