If you wanna bring the war home itād be far more realistic to depict a Second American Civil War than have any country invade the continental US. Showcasing America waging total war against its own people would definitely help them understand what Korea and Vietnam went through
The mission where the KPA destroys an entire town in retaliation for your actions just feels like a recreation of Israelās genocide in Gaza even though the game is over a decade old
Ah, homefront. Shitty multiplayer, and the story was only interesting because of the shock factor of it being the US being occupied.
I'm 90% certain it was made to scare patriots more than comment on Palestine or US imperialism, though. Then again, I've never looked into it... Might have to reinstall, if only for a temporary feeling that the US has got what it deserved
The elements from Palestine are definitely just placed for shock value and nothing more
And the damn game ends by implying that the European Union is about to save the US. So basically Western imperialism is still alive and well even without the US as a superpower. Ugh
This made me remember that the damned game was supposed to have a sequel/reboot. Hilariously, the developers must have decided that the DPRK wouldn't invade if it was communist, so they went and made it capitalist. I'm actually crying from laughter having just read that
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homefront:_The_Revolution
On a whole yea the Korean occupation of America definitely has elements of American atrocities like the nuclear bombing of Salt Lake City. The irradiated Mississippi River definitely reeks of American biological warfare against the DPRK. In game though itās just way too similar to the West Bank and Gaza by Israel
Jesus fucking Christ this game was so stupid, like how could anyone remotely take seriously North Korea invading and occupying the US? More Red Dawn propaganda bullshit. So glad I never played Homefront.
Side note, I watched an interesting documentary about how the US army is involved with certain Hollywood studios and game studios to make pro US military propaganda. Itās why movies and games almost always portray the US military in the best light and the enemy are always whoever the US says is the current boogeyman
Not really a source just how the occupation in game looks a lot like the Israeli occupation of the West Bank. With a wall surrounding the town and forced evacuations of residents
They were convinced at the time that the US and China were too interconnected with each other to ever go to war so instead they decided that the DPRK would be the country to invade the US
Good thing I didn't like Homefront as a kid then
It reminded me of that movie where the Chinese invade America
Both of which are so very obviously just anti-"Asian countries the US hates" propaganda.
I had a family member in Vietnam, learned a lot from him, so when I saw Battlefield Vietnam, I felt very weird about it.
As is, most any US based military game has us fighting Russians and Chinese already.

[This should give you an idea what Iām talking about](https://youtu.be/_tdAnpKVWmw?si=fRbaddDO5Y9ivr5k)
thank you
You wonāt be thanking me when you cringe watching that. Jeez I canāt believe I was so obsessed with this game
from the trailer it looks like they saw half life 2 and were like: :O
The graphics arenāt even that much better than Half Life 2
hard to beat half life 2. that game is gorgeous

Ahh Homefront....gonna have to play it again just to laugh about how fucking terrible it is.
The mission where the KPA destroys an entire town in retaliation for your actions just feels like a recreation of Israelās genocide in Gaza even though the game is over a decade old
Generally speaking the game feels like a whitewashed version of pretty much every US occupation...ever.
I mean the brutality is pretty on point for a Western occupation. Though the wall surrounding the town was basically coping the West Bank wall
I do remember the game being pretty decent as a braindead action romp, but I was 15 and about a sixpack in last time I played it.
cut the rope 2?
XD good one

Yea that one somehow made even less sense than the first one
Tom clancy's: Ghost Recon 2?
Good guess but no
Could also be said that it's just Americans oppressing Koreans rebranded as Koreans oppressing Americans.

Whats the source on Homefront's inspiration being Israel?
Not really a source just how the occupation in game looks a lot like the Israeli occupation of the West Bank. With a wall surrounding the town and forced evacuations of residents
Least it was different from the typical Arab or Russian enemy at the time lol
Homefront: The Revolution is such a cool game conceptually (first person guerilla urban warfare resistance shooter) but it's so laughably braindead
Freedom Fighters?
Nah thatās about the Soviets taking NYC
The soundtrack was so hard

CoD just did that with MW2 so they wanted to be ādifferentā

Last of us?
Surprisingly inspired by the Israeli Palestinians conflict but not
Homefront
