raccoonbandit13

Phil Scott (VT) is the only GOP governor not to announce his support.

SeemoarAlpha

Is there a reason for Scott not signing the statement of support?

SupremeChancellor66

Probably because the guy is to the left of Joe Manchin but still calls himself a Republican. Quite literally the definitive RINO.

Black_XistenZ

Still the best we can get in an ultra-liberal state like VT. Him being to the left of Joe Manchin doesn't rule out that pretty much any Democrat governor in VT would be significantly to the left of Scott.

Traditional-March522

For real. What's with the obsession with ideological purity over pragmatism? I'd take a centrist R over a radical D any day.

Foobucket

Radical D, you say?

ObadiahtheSlim

Because he's like Mitt "True Father of Obamacare" Romney. They will continue to side with Dems on the iterative erosion of our liberties. They keep introducing new and new entitlements that are political suicide to remove. The only thing keeping them from being a full on Democrat is that they probably don't want to jump head first into going full European Nanny State. That or they'd know they aren't popular enough with the Dems so they act as the token resistance to the Uniparty.

Jake_Bluth

Good, we need moderate/liberal republicans in blue states to them from going full crazy. Both chambers in Vermont are 75% democrat, can you imagine what they would do if a Bernie Sanders was governor? Phil Scott won’t stop any left-wing social issue from passing, but fiscal he’ll find compromise that won’t tank a state like California

gh0stwriter88

> can you imagine what they would do if a Bernie Sanders was governor? The backlash would be glorious... boiled like frogs as they are.

Black_XistenZ

Virginia has a PVI of D+3, Vermont sits at D+16.

Meg_119

Vermont is a liberal State.

SauxinMikey

Exactly, Democrats who complain about Manchin and Republicans who complain about Phil Scott annoy me to no end. He's not a RINO, he's a representative of republicans in Vermont. If Republicans ran a very conservative candidate, the election would be a landslide for Democrats.

Jake_Bluth

Yeah we saw that in Maryland and Massachusetts in 2022. Republicans had a choice to go with the moderate candidate that could’ve retained GOP control of those states governorship, or choose the MAGA Trump-endorsed candidate. Obviously the free thinkers of the Republican Party chose the more right-wing ones and got wiped out in both states. Republicans even had a chance to flip Blumenthal’s seat in Connecticut if they went with the moderate Republican but again purists in our party decided against that idea

Jake_Bluth

>Quite literally the definitive RINO Crazy how the term RINO means absolutely nothing any more. Vermont is the most liberal state, both chambers in their assembly are 75% democrat/progressive party members. A “RINO” that is still the right of the entire Vermont left is 100 times better than having a “real” Republican run and get wiped out in an election by a Bernie Sanders

SupremeChancellor66

I love that you can see the three Republican states led by "moderate" Democrat governors refusing to support Texas. Despite Republican supermajorities in their legislatures.

Jolly_Job_9852

North Carolina, Kentucky and Kansas?

Mr_0pportunity

NC has shit bag Governor Cooper. He is far too left to support something as common sense as border security

Jolly_Job_9852

I'm well aware of NC's governor. I live here. I disagree about him being a shit bag, he's liberal but I'd rather have him than say Whitmer or Newsom.

Mr_0pportunity

I live here too. I, personally, think he's a shit bag. He hasn't done anything meaningful since he's been elected. His only slightly bright spot was that he didn't lock the be state down during COVID. That's pretty much it. Sure, he's better than those ultra leftists, but NC isn't as liberal as those states either.

Jolly_Job_9852

It's a lean red state, a battleground for the President but depending on which area you live in, it doesn't always seem like it. The Triad is pretty liberal, where I'm at.

Mr_0pportunity

Very true. I used to live in the Triad area, which was pretty liberal, but have moved near Denton now which is deep red, thank God

Jolly_Job_9852

I'm about 15 minutes from King so its not too bad in my little area. Living in downtown Winston-Salem would not be ideal for me.

AU36832

Yeah, I moved to northeastern NC in 2020 near the coast and it is as red as where I'm from in South Alabama.

acorpcop

Cooper was a shit Attorney General and is a shit governor. He tried to lock the state down. He tried hard. The General Assembly threw a hissy fit. Most county governments paid lip service to the edicts out of Raleigh, outside of Wake, Meck, Guilford, Forsyth etc. Not sure what was going on in Buncombe and didn't care to find out. It all eventually resulted in changes to the Governor's State Of Emergency powers that got rammed through in the 2021 budget, and took effect last year.

Shadeylark

That's about as low a bar as you could set.

EnderOfHope

He's not great, but you're right.. could definitely be worse. I'm not sure I'd vote for him, but it doesn't bother me that he is in office.

Jolly_Job_9852

I didn't vote for him in 2016 or 2020, but if he ran for President over an unpopular Republican, I'd seriously consider that. It also helps that the GA has a supermajority with Tricia Cotham switching parties.

patriclus47

I agree. In NC, and I can’t stand him.

WIlf_Brim

How the hell did Kentucky re-elect that commie who already showed his statist authoritarian tendencies during COVID?

Jolly_Job_9852

I wouldn't begin to imagine what went through the minds of Kentucky voters when they made that choice.

Magehunter_Skassi

I can't see how refusing to back Texas is even a politically smart move for them. The phrase: >"We love immigration... as long as it happens **LEGALLY!!!"** gets like half of the Republican base convulsing and screaming and clapping with joy. Positioning themselves as the sensible moderate Democrat for opposing an actual open border is like the freest dunk ever.

JustinCayce

As a Kansan, I'd like to apologize for the fecklessness of our Governor.

ThePuzzleGuy77

She’s a fucking embarrassment to this great state. I don’t get how the land that gave us Brownback and Kobach can also give us this nutter socialist

HappyGunner

Topeka, KC, and Overland Park. That's how.

ThePuzzleGuy77

My brother lives on Overland Park, inside of 435 and it’s all republicans. I think it’s more KCK, Lawrence, and Topeka. But the KC burbs are red. Should never have a Kelly or Sebelius.

Due-Net4616

As another Kansan, I’m going to write our governor. You should too. Make your voice heard (but be respectful because you’ll just be ignored if you come off as an asshole)

[deleted]

C'mon, we all know you are getting ignored no matter what you write. Let's just be realistic here. Unless you have an "in" with someone in their sphere, your mail gets read by an intern, and an automatic response is sent. And the postal service has made money in process, which is actually a really nice service. We sometimes forgot that while USPS can suck balls, it's still an affordable, reliable, and (usually) hassle free way to ship letters and small to medium packages. USPS does not do freight though so you still have to get a FedEx/UPS/DHL business account to work with the big stuff. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk on shipping stuff. Also I live in Texas and fully support this whole thing no where it may end up. #comeandtakeit

Due-Net4616

lol, no shit individual writings get ignored but when shitloads of people do it they should be smart enough to pay attention out of fear of being voted out. And I didn’t mean write as in send a letter dude. I mean email lol

PunishedCokeNixon

KY, NC and KS? It's exactly why there is NEVER a good reason to vote Blue. Ever. Even in a Roy Moore situation you vote Red or stay home.

ThePuzzleGuy77

Laura Kelly is a socialist that they try to paint as a moderate.

LVDave

Naturally the other 3 states that ARE affected because they're border states also, that being California, Arizona, and New Mexico aren't backing Texas because all 3 have (D) governors..

worm981

It's bad in AZ and Katie Hobbs is burying her head in the sand.

PunishedCokeNixon

I moved to Arizona to ESCAPE Newsom. Instead I got Newsom with wine aunt hair.

KlondikeDrool

Perfect description! I moved here to escape the Boulderfication of Colorado and I'd hate to see the same thing happen in Arizona.

djc_tech

Colorado is unrecognizable. I lived there half my life and it’s turned into a joke

EndSmugnorance

Well as Secretary of State she literally stole her own election so that’s not surprising.

Bukook

Might inspire change in those states though because it makes it clear that nothing will be done if you vote Democrat.

MarioFanaticXV

As a New Mexican, I'm ashamed of our state government.

derolle

As a Californian, I want to start from scratch

danr246

You mean D Bags

Fairwareprovidence

Man am I glad this map showed me which one was texas.

DaRiddler70

NM gov desperately wants a Biden admin job.....she fucking loves him.

k1kthree

weird how muted the press coverage of this is. I do not know how Biden gets out of this. He's going to back down but the optics are terrible

Rider-VPG

Back down, and his base sees him as weak. Stand firm and he energizes opposition.

JediGeek

His base will believe whatever they're told to believe by the DNC propagandists, aka the media.

HereForRedditReasons

I don’t believe that on this specific issue. Normal people all around the country are being affected by the rampant immigration. I think it’s New York, but I heard of a school that moved the regular students to zoom so they could make room for immigrants. There are also low income people that are not getting access to things in favor of immigrants

MT_2A7X1_DAVIS

I'm not positive that Biden even has a base over just running a Never-Trump coalition. One that is full of people who hate each other and are slowly but surely showing the signs that they will not turn out a second time for Biden.

blkmgk533

Hmm, what's that smell? Is that an Article 5 starting to coalesce?

deadzip10

That would be an actual disaster given there’s no limit on what they could change and there’s way too many in the party with batshit ideas of what constitutes liberty.

sunday_undies

At least 38 states would have to agree on the changes to the Constitution. I doubt batshit ideas will fly

[deleted]

What constitutes liberty to you?

deadzip10

My point is that a convention completely replaced the articles last time and they didn’t even have authorization at that point. A convention here would have authorization to change anything. What are the odds that we don’t end up with an abrogation of 2A in that scenario for instance. What about that they provide the Feds actual law enforcement authority. What about removing the 9A and 10A …

_whydah_

We’re 8 short

Rider-VPG

For now.

_whydah_

Fingers crossed for more

JohnJohnston

Given all the other states on here besides VT have a D governor we're not gonna see it, unfortunately.

For sure

Inception_Bwah

A24 out here with the most insane guerrilla marketing campaign of all time

tajstah

I'm proud to be a Texan.

SauxinMikey

Right there with you

AntiHero2563

The Volunteers in Tennessee stand with Texas 🫡

Jolly_Job_9852

On a lighter note, it's weird not seeing the entire South in unison, because of NorthCarolina. It's fitting in a historical sense since, according to some sources the state was last to secede from the Union in 1861. Currently, I don't think our governor, Roy Cooper, is going to announce his support for Abbott. The General Assembly snd its GOP supermajority would, along with out Lt. Gov Robinson.

icon0clast6

Joe Biden is in derelict of duty at this point. The federal government’s major job is to defend the border and the states. The executive branch is not enforcing federal immigration laws. Democrats want to talk about constitutional crisis? Here you fucking go.

1path2choose

If you're a ONE ISSUE voter, there is none more important than our border. And you are right, Biden should be impeached for his policies and actions taken first week in Office.

PunishedCokeNixon

Anyone who supports opening the border or shutting down what Texas is doing is a straight up seditious traitor whose loyalty is to foreign interests. Period.

ZarBandit

No support = wants more busses!

[deleted]

You’d think NY would be supportive with everything happening in NYC

Frankiepals

Most of NY is…the problem is NYC itself

mrjk360

Yup Long Island usually is red, I hate that NYC decides everything

Restless_Fillmore

Albany and the other cities are also problems.

Frankiepals

Fellow Islander?

LVDave

Glad to see my state, Nevada, backing Texas. Now that we have an (R)'ish Governor, not *quite* a RINO, things seem to be a LOT better in the state since we flushed the turd (D) governor we *had*...

MCKlassik

I’m from NV too. He’s definitely an upgrade from Sisolak.

AFishNamedFreddie

Ya love to see it. I hope more join tomorrow.

[deleted]

All the GOP Governors: "**I am Spartacus!**"

EconomicsIsUrFriend

Is this a total of 26 states (including Texas)? Does that mean only 8 more states are needed to call a constitutional convention, or is that based on the state legislature? Edit: Never mind, it's the legislature.

CenterLeftRepublican

Wonder whats wrong with Kansas.

blkmgk533

Dem governor.

Eruditio_Et_Religio

Unpopular Republican candidate and abortion propaganda gave them a Dem Governor

ryanespe

As a Kansan, I apologize for our worthless governor.

OldStyleThor

That's cool. When we annex you, it will be gentle.

SnooHabits1409

That's an easy answer, Democrat Gov. Laura Kelly.

joemax4boxseat

Piggy Pritzker will never support this but trust me that everyone outside of Crook Country and Rockford in Illinois supports Texas.

2HourCoffeeBreak

I’m in Georgia and I can’t believe our liberal infested state has joined the cause.

Masantonio

Source for this map?

AdamBrandenberg

MS Paint from what I can figure.

JohnJohnston

Just look up 'governors siding with texas' and you'll see a letter all the governors of these states wrote and signed backing TX. It's all over the news.

_hhhhh_____-_____

Mapchart

RontoWraps

So a website where you can color your own map?

_hhhhh_____-_____

Yup

Rapidfiremma

If TX secedes, I want my state of WV to join them. Imagine being in America without them, where the democrats win every election without even trying. I mean, we're close now with their cheating, but it would be worse without TX around.

contemplator61

What the hell is wrong with my state?? Oh, right. We have a Democrat for governor 🤬

drgmaster909

It is incredible watching the red state subs and city-subs freak out. /r/Boise (Idaho) is in fullblown meltdown.

pmperry68

Boise just has to Boise...

Environmental_Net947

It’s kind of amusing how the Biden administration and it’s liberal media toadies lie to our faces, and try to gaslight us into believing the border is under control when there’s plenty of video of people streaming across it unimpeded. And when a state tries to control that flow, because this administration refuses to do its job? This administration does everything it can, including going to court, and make sure the border stays open.. How can they say they don’t want it to happen, when, by their actions, they make it obvious that they do, and I are just lying to our faces??

gearcliff

Last I saw, Ohio support was only from the Secretary of State and not the Governor.

thebugman10

The "support" means nothing unless states are actively sending national guard to help guard the border. Just empty words otherwise.

StumpGrnder

Post this in /Texas please

Commander-Grammar

That’s just a pile of whiney Austin dwellers. We don’t bother going there.

StumpGrnder

Nah it’s about 90% non-Texans

TLGPanthersFan

NC sticking out like a sore thumb. I really hate our governor.

Jolly_Job_9852

Well the good news is, he's term limited. You got the choice of AG Stein or(most likely) Lt. Gov Robinson come November.

BeachWoo

WTF Arizona?

whicky1978

You would think both Arizona and New York would be on there

[deleted]

RED STATE SECESSION. The federal government has abdicated there constitutionally OBLIGATED authority. Therefore the States have rights. And it’s time to impose those rights on our traitorous federal government

GrizzMcDizzle79

Rrrrrroll tide!

Rush2201

Proud to see WV came around. It's easy to feel disconnected from issues here, since we're smaller (in population) than many other states, and don't get a ton of immigration or anything.

VegasGurl17

Surprised but glad gov Lombardo (NV) is voicing support

Motorbiker95

I live in washington so there's no hope for my governor to support them. We do have a strong republican candadite that has a decent chance to win this election (reichart). How many more states for them to call a constitutional convention? Its about damn time for them to call out Biden's BS.

DaneCz123

Fellow Washingtonian. I was on the semi train for a while, (I really like him and his views) but it just won't fly. I know people who have served on both campaigns in high positions and have heard things. While Reichart has a decent chance, I just can't deal with the state anymore. People will still vote for sideshow bob. I will be soon making the move to Wyoming, Washington is getting more extreme. God forbid something happens, this is the wrong state for a conservative to be in. It will be hard to leave this state. I helped found a hunting rights group, I love the beauty of this state and have many friends and family. But, I will not miss the craziness of this state

Commander-Grammar

I left Washington for Texas 3 years ago when they used Covid as an excuse to refuse to renew my concealed carry license. It hurts my heart every day not being able to see the mountains but I’m so glad I left. Absolutely worth it. Zero regrets.

Motorbiker95

So much has changed here in the last 10 years. It would be hard for me to leave because of my career and family. I love the nature here too. I do not blame people for leaving.....

Actual-Journalist-69

Hmm... looks like all the usual suspects

tsoxiko

just waiting now for the liberals to announce that the confederacy is about to rise again in the name of slavery and will be a threat to democracy.. I assume the good news would be to “vote blue” to combat the racist hordes wishing to enslave everyone.. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🌝🌝🌝🌝

Proverbs_31_2-3

Is this what they meant when they said, "The South will rise again!"?

billgigs55

#StandWithTexas

gh0stwriter88

NC still suffering from the stupidity of toiletgate.... which resulted in us loosing our republican Governor.

Eruditio_Et_Religio

Charlotte: “We are going to force you to have gender neutral toilets.” McCrory: “Actually, businesses can willingly do that but you can’t force businesses to do that.” Propagandists: “OMG McCrory is PREVENTING gender neutral bathrooms in businesses.” The fact republicans got a supermajority and shoves things down the governor’s throats is poetic justice

gh0stwriter88

What is even funnier everywhere still has non gender neutral toilets in Charlotte because it was all bullshit anyway and nobody was ever stopped and frisked entering the bathrooms lol.

CptMcCrae

Are we seceding again???
