Protestor was lucky this wasn't on set...

WIlf_Brim

Missed opportunity. Baldwin should have channeled Harry Callahan. "Go ahead. Make my day."

ngoni

It really is amazing how "I'm from Hollywood" gets you out of pretty much any crime including murder.

Socratesmiddlefinger

His trial starts in July, Involuntary manslaughter only carries 18 months in New Mexico, I will be impressed if they find him guilty.

Easy-Medicine-8610

And its even crazier when you compare his treatment to Trump's. He murdered someone for crying out loud!

heyegghead

It wasn’t his fault. It was supposed to be a prop gun with blanks. The person supposed to deal with the prop weapons not only didn’t put in the blanks but also brought in live ammunition. And before people harp on “GUN SAFETY” I’m pretty sure the only guns Alex has touched are the ones on set and you can’t presume everyone has gun safety on their mind nor should they be held to that standard.

polerize

Every gun is loaded, even the "safe" ones. If it was part of the movie then fine accidents happen. He was fucking around though and killed a person.

ObadiahtheSlim

After the tragic death of Brandon Lee, there were many changes to make prop guns more safe. Alec Baldwin has been in many movies since and should have known safety protocols. Alec Baldwin accepted a prop gun from someone who wasn't the movie's armorer. Alec Baldwin failed to inspect the prop. Alec Baldwin pointed the prop gun at at someone. Alec Baldwin's failure to comply with industry standard safety protocol means he is responsible for the involuntary manslaughter.

jivatman

That's a good argument if he were only an actor in the movie. But he's also the producer. There are questions about how involved he was with in the selection of an unqualified armorer, and as producer just being held to a generally higher standard with these sort of issues.

CC_Panadero

You should absolutely expect everyone on set to have gun safety on their mind anytime guns are present. Who is responsible for everything that happens on a movie set? It’s the producer. He chose to cheap out on several things. He knew it wasn’t the armorer handing him the gun. Negligence on his part led to a death.

KatanaCutlets

Yes. Yes I can hold him to that standard. And I should.

RaptorRed04

It’s time that we all agree, as a society, that sending someone’s phone to the shadow realm if they stick it in your face is an act of patriotism and should be celebrated.

IkedaTheFurry

Yeah honestly if someone sticks their phone in your face then i don’t blame you

kandradeece

Don't like him but man just let people get a coffee without bothering them

FourtyMichaelMichael

Eh, he negligently killed a woman then talked about how it's everyone's fault including the gun, except him, he's a poor innocent executive producer ultimately responsible for everything on set EXCEPT this. In a just world he would see prison. Instead, he'll get Jussie Justice.

kandradeece

Sir.. this is a coffee shop...

gatorgongitcha

📰Man who consistently punches phones and cameras punched a phone 📰

jacksonexl

Good on him for that one.

TheLimeyCanuck

I think this is the first time I ever thought AB acted appropriately.

BrentwoodATX

Beetlejuice was great and he was a hoot in The Departed

Saint_Genghis

I love to watch the left eating their own.

thegreatinverso9

Anyone wonder if Alec is rethinking his political positions about now?

Alternative_Spell140

Not even in the slightest.

Severed_Employee

You can hate Trump and hate the far left.

sinnmercer

This is what you voted for alec

TheLimeyCanuck

I think this is the first time I ever thought AB acted appropriately.

I-Bet-You-are-Tough

Nobody gets to demand anyone do anything, fist in the air for BLM, kneel for the national anthem, say free Palestine, repeat the names of blah blah blah. No, the answer will always be no.

Commissar_David

Imagine being hated by both parties.

Severed_Employee

It's called being a moderate. Not saying Baldwin is, but that's where moderates land these days.

Commissar_David

Moderates aren't hated by both parties. Neocons are, and rightfully so. As for Baldwin, he is a little too left leaning to be a moderate.

I_SuplexTrains

There's a lot of things I don't like about Alec Baldwin. This was not one of them.

Blacksunshinexo

I hate them both

Rockmann1

I’d do the same if these radicals demanded I support terrorists.

Rock_Hound_66

Good for him

[deleted]

Protester is lucky Alec didn't have a gun on him

skarface6

Don’t punch folks but also don’t try to force folks to say something.

Zachtyl

This is one time that I agree with Alec

Mehnard

I've got no problem with that.

AilsaN

Ugh... don't make me defend Alec Baldwin....

ImaginaryDonut69

I feel slightly bad for this fraud, but not sure how that disgusting protestor was going to get what they wanted when they bring up that awful shooting (which was CLEARLY accidental). When you got me feeling sorry for "mediocre Trump impersonator", your cause really is based on nothing but hot air.

ocska

Yes, Jordan should have never annexed the West Bank

Billy_Chapel1984

Would love to hear a real conversation with people like him who were in the forefront of creating this type of climate.

polerize

That is not a dude I would piss off.

Grouchy-Invite-1574

Oh wow someone who recently negligently shot someone and has a history of being an absolute asshole chose violence.... such suprise big shock.

Nate0110

I bet he supports the freedom to bear arms.

TraditionalEvening79

Hey THAT guy is above the law!

NYforTrump

If he was in jail for recklessly killing that woman this wouldn't have happened.

Lethalpizza422

Hilarious 😂

M16A4MasterRace

Well, he is a murderer. Kind of par for the course to be violent.

icon0clast6

I wouldn’t call him a murderer. He’s definitely guilty of manslaughter but murder requires planning and intent.

Important_Tip_9704

Still, he’s made it clear that he is more afflicted by the hit to his reputation than by his responsibility for a death. At no point has he seemed genuinely remorseful in my opinion. Always concerned about his own convenience and optics. Easily avoided a standard trial. As far as getting harassed in public goes, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

icon0clast6

Oh I still think he’s a shit human and responsible for his actions but murder is a legal term
