Chances are the two women walked past the group of men while celebrating. The men made some offhand comment about lesbians being wrong or disgusting, or even made some kind of pass at them. Somewhat similar issues here in Europe with the gypsies. A few hours from me there are a few proper settlements and a few years ago their elder died. Since then they became a lot more violent and they steal a lot more. Really hard to do any kind of legal action against them. A couple times in the last years some people have had enough and confronted them but there is a lot of them and eventually they end up going after their families too. In the media they would never mention they were gypsies. However if it's people of our own nationality that do something wrong they happily share even approximate adresses and initials. Few years ago my coworker shot a bird on his farm with an air gun cause it was eating the crops and it lead to him being accused of poaching in the national newspaper. Meanwhile, you read about crimes like theft and rape in the areas around gypsie settlements and it's always performed just by "our citizens".

Honestly, they don't stick up for lesbians very much anymore, since so many of them are unwilling to date transwomen. Ya know, because generally lesbians *really* don't like penises.
For instance, there's some kind of a lesbian specific app that's kind of like Tinder, and a lot of them were upset that transwomen are allowed to join. The general consensus was that many of the "trans lesbians" seemed to be cross-dressing men with a lesbian fetish, but pointing that out apparently makes you a bigot.
A lot of lesbians are on the right side of the debate when it comes to men in women's spaces in general. Many lesbians are *even more* uncomfortable and traumatized by men in restrooms and locker rooms than strait women are, and that's saying something.
Lately there have been lesbians that were removed from marches and pride events because they are considered transphobic or TERFs. The T has taken the top spot in LGBT in the hierarchy, and lesbians who aren't falling in line with the ideology are finding that their membership privileges have been revoked.

I'm in Australia. 20 years ago I went to school with a kid whose parents worked at the Israeli embassy. Nice kid. I remember more than a few times I saw him he was scared and trying to run and hide because the Muslims were after him and wanted to bash him.
Sometimes it was out at night. Sometimes they'd get their older brothers and cousins and uncles to come trespass in the school to try find him and beat him up.

Honestly, they don't stick up for lesbians very much anymore, since so many of them are unwilling to date transwomen. Ya know, because generally lesbians *really* don't like penises. For instance, there's some kind of a lesbian specific app that's kind of like Tinder, and a lot of them were upset that transwomen are allowed to join. The general consensus was that many of the "trans lesbians" seemed to be cross-dressing men with a lesbian fetish, but pointing that out apparently makes you a bigot. A lot of lesbians are on the right side of the debate when it comes to men in women's spaces in general. Many lesbians are *even more* uncomfortable and traumatized by men in restrooms and locker rooms than strait women are, and that's saying something. Lately there have been lesbians that were removed from marches and pride events because they are considered transphobic or TERFs. The T has taken the top spot in LGBT in the hierarchy, and lesbians who aren't falling in line with the ideology are finding that their membership privileges have been revoked.

The LGB are waking up, there is some very scary stuff happening in the community right now. I think many are looking to leave or have been ejected from the left forcibly after these last 4 years. I'm in Australia. 20 years ago I went to school with a kid whose parents worked at the Israeli embassy. Nice kid. I remember more than a few times I saw him he was scared and trying to run and hide because the Muslims were after him and wanted to bash him. Sometimes it was out at night. Sometimes they'd get their older brothers and cousins and uncles to come trespass in the school to try find him and beat him up. I don't know what would set it off. I wasn't very aware of these things back then. Not sure if they got angry when Israel was in the news, or when their preachers happened to give a particularly hateful Friday message, or if they just did it for the sport when they got bored.
It's not like they ever hid their intentions either. The west to them is not just the US. But our culture and beliefs. A culture you and I share.
